Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:

Low zinc is the most common cause of gastric ulcers. Here’s why!

In this video, we’re going to talk about why gastric ulcers are related to a zinc deficiency.

I wanted to find out what mainstream medicine thought about the relationship between your diet and ulcers. I looked it up, and this is what they said:

“Diet does NOT play an important role in causing or preventing ulcers.”

So what causes ulcers then? They say H. pylori, NSAIDs, stress, and alcohol are the only causes.

This is false information. Your diet does play a vital role in your risk of ulcers.

The biggest cause of ulcers is zinc deficiency.

Consuming refined grains and other carbohydrates can deplete zinc in your body because they are rich in phytates.

Many people have ulcers from refined carbs and don’t know they have one. In fact, 1/3 of people who have ulcers don’t have any symptoms.

Thankfully, there are some simple things you can do to increase your zinc.

The first thing you need to do is improve your diet. If you’re new to my channel, check out the links above to learn more about Healthy Keto.

While you’re improving your diet, you can also use zinc supplements until your zinc level is normalized.

The best remedies for ulcers include:
1. Take zinc carnosine
2. Fasting
3. Cabbage juice
4. Chlorophyll (wheatgrass juice powder)

In this video, we’re going to talk about how to avoid all keto side effects.

Many people are afraid of experiencing the keto flu or other side effects when going on a ketogenic diet. However, if you start on the healthy version of keto from the beginning, you shouldn’t experience any adverse side effects.

Here are the symptoms and remedies for common keto side effects.

1. Brain fog – This could be a vitamin B1 deficiency or low ketones—use nutritional yeast and MCT oil.

2. Gout/high uric acid – Take a green drink, like wheatgrass juice or other leafy green vegetable juice. This will regulate your pH.

3. High cholesterol – This means you need more bile salts to break down cholesterol.

4. Kidney stones – This could be not enough water or potassium citrate. 2 liters of water a day is ideal. Also, avoid high-oxalate foods, like almonds, spinach, and chocolate.

5. Digestion issues – Adjust vegetable intake (could be too much or not enough), take bile salts, avoid lectins, and take betaine hydrochloride or apple cider vinegar.

6. Acne – Avoid dairy products.

7. Palpitations & muscle cramps – Increase magnesium, potassium, and sea salt.

8. Irritability – Use vitamin B1.

9. Gallbladder pain – Avoid nuts and peanut butter.

10. Bad breath – Increase leafy greens and lower protein.

11. Rash – Increase B vitamins (nutritional yeast).

12. Fatigue or keto flu – Sea salt and potassium.

13. Sleeplessness – Increase calcium (calcium citrate or calcium lactate) and sea salt.

Let’s talk about the side effects of not eating breakfast. I used to promote consuming breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day—right? Some people will say that there are a lot of negative health consequences associated with skipping breakfast.

The idea that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that skipping breakfast is a bad thing basically started with a fear campaign to get people to eat more cereal and bacon.

I believe the idea that eating breakfast is important is false. I believe if you skip breakfast, you could potentially help prevent certain health problems.

The real potential side effects of skipping breakfast:
• Weight loss
• Less of an appetite
• Mental clarity
• Faster metabolism
• Fewer cravings
• Better mood
• Less of a metabolic syndrome

Today I want to cover the best protein for recovery from exercise, stress, and sickness. You have protein that is absorbed in the body and protein that’s actually used by the body. Only a small portion of protein is utilized in the repair action and in providing the raw material to build new protein. Proteins are different combinations of amino acids. The rest is either wasted or used as fuel.

Different examples of proteins in the body:
• Muscle
• Hair
• Nails
• Tendons
• Ligaments
• Fascia
• Cartilage
• Skin
• DNA/RNA
• Cellular machines inside the cells
• Enzymes
• Hormones
• Lipoproteins
• Blood
• Immune cells

Best protein for recovery:
• Breast milk
• Eggs

Proteins that aren’t great for recovery:
• Whey
• Soy
• BCCA

Keto aminos is a blend of essential amino acids that can provide a 99% utilization rate and only 1% waste or fuel. This is not a dietary protein. It’s a supplement that can assist in the recovery process.

Today we’re going to talk about intermittent fasting for ADHD. Some fascinating research shows that intermittent fasting and prolonged fasting may significantly affect the brain’s frontal lobe and create significant improvements in cognition.

Fasting may potentially help improve cognitive functions, including:
• Focus
• Memory
• Concentration
• Clarity
• Creativity

The study relates to improving the front part of the brain, which is involved with:
• Paying attention
• Making decisions
• Organizing
• Planning

Experts will say that ADHD is a chemical imbalance, that it’s genetics, or that the brain is somehow rewired for these symptoms. But, these theories have never been proven. There are medications, but they have side effects that may even potentially create the same symptoms they’re supposed to get rid of.

Basically, with fasting, you stop feeding the brain glucose. As a survival mechanism, the body switches over to making a preferred source of fuel called ketones.

Certain parts of the brain need glucose, but the body can make the glucose it needs from non-carbohydrate sources like fat and protein. You don’t need to consume glucose to feed the brain glucose.

When you fast, you give the brain ketones. Ketones can do many incredible things, including potentially improving cognitive functions.

If you have any problems with focus, concentration, or clarity, you may want to try fasting as well as a few other things, including:
• Vitamin B1 (nutritional yeast)
• Zinc
• Omega-3 fatty acids

In this video, we’re going to talk about stress-induced infections.

The following infections can be connected to stress:
• Tuberculosis (TB)
• Herpes simplex (cold sores)
• Shingles
• H-pylori (ulcers)
• Common cold
• HIV

Many viruses can lay dormant until a stress event weakens your immune system. Stress can significantly reduce your natural immune function. This is why many infections happen right after a major stress event.

There are two types of stress: acute and chronic. Acute stress affects the innate immune system—this is the part of the immune system you’re born with. Chronic stress affects the acquired immune system—this is the part of the immune system that you develop when you’re exposed to certain pathogens.

When you go through stress, your body releases cortisol. Cortisol can suppress white blood cells. White blood cells are a vital part of healthy immune function. So when you’re stressed, you don’t have that barrier to help protect your body from infections.

Stress can also make you susceptible to food allergies, autoimmune disorders, and slow wound healing.

In summary, stress can inhibit normal immune function and lead to stress-induced infections because of increased cortisol. It’s crucial to maintain healthy stress levels.

In this video, we’re going to talk about exercise vs. physical work for better sleep.

Which is better for sleep—exercise or physical work? When I say physical work, I mean yard work, cleaning, building something, remodeling, and jobs that involve using a wide variety of muscles.

Both exercise and physical work increase your oxygen, muscle, and endurance and lower your stress. However, exercise is very predictable and repetitive, while physical work is more varied and asymmetrical.

Additionally, your focus while doing physical work isn’t on a repetitive physical motion—it’s focused on your project/job. This is why physical work is often more effective for stress reduction and mental health.

In summary, if you want to sleep better and reduce your stress, physical work is far more effective. This is a great excuse to work on a project you enjoy that involves physical activity.

I challenge you to try to do 1-2 hours of physical work around the house each day. See what it does for your sleep.

In this video, we’re going to talk about the relationship between bacteria, fungi, and your gut.

Many people assume that all of the gut microbes are bacteria. However, you also have viruses and fungi that work together to keep your gut healthy.

To better explain this topic, I want to go through the definitions of certain terms we will use.

Microbiome – A community of bacteria in your gut.

Mycobiome – A community of fungus in your gut.

Mutualism – Both species benefit from each other.

Commensalism – One species benefits while the other neither benefits nor is harmed.

Parasitism – One species takes and doesn’t give back, leading to harm.

The mycobiome can be more complicated to understand because of the nature of fungi. Fungi are not as studied as bacteria because fungus can’t be cultured.

Both fungi and bacteria can be friendly in healthy condition but have pathogenic potential in unhealthy conditions.

When you are given an antibiotic for a bacterial infection, you can potentially have a fungal infection. When you are given an antibiotic for a fungal infection, you can potentially have a bacterial infection.

Fungi and bacteria keep each other in check. They help your body avoid pathogenic levels of a particular bacteria or fungus.

You also have viruses in your gut that help keep bacteria in check.

These three remedies can help fight infection and promote a healthy biome:
• Oregano oil
• Gymnema
• Sccharomyces Cerisaie and Sccharomyces Boulardii

In this video, we’re going to talk about bile acid diarrhea.

Bile can cause diarrhea as a side effect. Why? Because bile inhibits H2O reabsorption.

Since too much bile can cause diarrhea, you don’t want to take purified bile salts if you already have diarrhea—it can make matters worse.

The gallbladder stores bile, so your body has plenty when it needs it. Many times when you have the gallbladder removed, there’s no way to regulate the release of bile. This can cause too much bile in the small intestine, which may lead to diarrhea.

97% of your bile is recycled for future use. If you have damage to your intestines, you may not be able to reabsorb and reuse bile. This can cause you to have more bile in your intestines than you need. If you have this situation, it could be a sign of IBS or SIBO.

You can have the bile levels in your stool tested to check for high levels of bile.

Consuming fiber may help with symptoms. Fiber can bind with bile and potentially help regulate your stool. You want to cut back on your fat consumption. Fats stimulate the production and release of bile.

A low FODMAP diet may also help with a bile acid diarrhea situation.

Let me know how these remedies work for you in the comments below.

It’s very important that children have enough zinc in their diet and that they don’t consume things that could deplete them of zinc.

Zinc is important for kids mostly because the neurons in the forebrain are dependent on zinc. This is the part of the brain involved in cognitive processes, including thinking, memory, and speech.

There are two studies that show a link between a zinc deficiency and neuropsychological problems, especially reasoning.

A zinc deficiency could potentially:
• Inhibit a person’s ability to learn
• Reduce the ability to have attention
• Cause poor retention of data (poor memory)

It’s also important for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers to take zinc.

The number one thing that depletes zinc is phytic acid. Phytic acid is in things like:
• Cereal
• Corn
• Soy
• Wheat

Why Do You Get Gout in Your Big Toe?

5:55 Share your success story!

Today we’re going to talk about what could cause gout in your big toe. Gout is a situation where you have uric acid crystals that are depositing in certain joints, causing pain.

Researchers have difficulty understanding what causes gout because the minority of people with gout attacks have high uric acid. Most gout attacks occur when people have normal levels of uric acid.

The uric acid crystals are also not in the area of inflammation. They believe the immune system is reacting to the uric acid crystals and then creating inflammation.

People with gout typically have a difficult time eliminating uric acid from the kidney. This could be from various things, including weak kidneys, diabetes, and insulin resistance.

Gout attacks also typically occur at night after consuming certain things, such as:
• Alcohol (especially beer)
• Meat
• Seafood
• Organ meats
• Fructose

The uric acid crystals that are depositing in the body are dependent on pH and temperature. If your pH is too acidic or your temperature is a little cooler, you may get more gout flare-ups. Your toes are typically the coldest part of your body.

Potential remedies for gout:
1. Celery
2. Coffee (only 1 cup in the morning per day)
3. Tart cherry
4. Lemon
5. Consume more vegetables and keep your protein moderate

Fasting can increase uric acid. When you fast, you recycle certain proteins, which can increase uric acid. But, uric acid is actually one of the most powerful antioxidants in the blood. As your fasting, you’re increasing uric acid to act as one of the antioxidants in the healing process.

Today we’re going to talk about dandruff and probiotics. The cause of dandruff is still unknown, but there are theories as to what causes it.

What we know about dandruff:
• Dandruff occurs more in the winter
• People who have dandruff typically have more of a vitamin D deficiency
• Dandruff is an imbalance between the fungus and the bacteria on the skin
• One type of fungus on the skin (malassezia) has more than doubled when you have dandruff
• There is an increase of staph bacteria on the skin when you have dandruff
• Antibiotics may help temporarily
• Steroids may help temporarily (but can suppress the immune system)
• People with dandruff typically have a zinc deficiency

Mycobiota is the friendly fungus and the yeast that grow inside and outside of the body. It’s an area that is rarely studied, but I believe it’s very important.

Friendly fungus and yeast are very beneficial—they do a lot for us. But they need to be in the right balance. There are a lot of conditions that can occur if a person doesn’t have the right balance of fungus and bacteria.

In my opinion, I think what’s really going on with dandruff is an imbalance of the friendly fungus and friendly bacteria. I don’t believe the solution is to start using chemicals and steroids to kill off the fungus or bacteria. Instead, I think a great remedy for dandruff is a natural antibiotic and a natural anti-fungal.

Potential remedies for dandruff:
1. Garlic and oregano (take orally)
2. A probiotic that also has friendly yeast

1:12 The best remedy for eye floaters
2:15 Bulletproof your immune system *free course!

Let’s talk about the best remedy for eye floaters. 70% of the population has eye floaters.

An eye floater is a strange little cobweb-like piece of something drifting in your eye. It tends to float around, especially if you try to focus on it or if you look away. It’s not dangerous, but it’s very annoying.

It’s really a piece of collagen fiber that creates a shadow in the back part of the eye (the retina) that gives you this image. This typically comes from some sort of breakdown tissue in the eye from internal bleeding or some type of inflammation. In many cases, this happens as a part of the aging process. It could be from some old injury, infection, or a blood sugar situation.

I believe the best natural remedy for eye floaters is autophagy. Autophagy is a condition where the body is recycling old and damaged proteins. The biggest thing that stimulates autophagy is fasting. In my opinion, a combination of intermittent fasting and periodic prolonged fasting would be the best thing you could do to help get rid of eye floaters. Autophagy may have many other benefits as well.

Fasting is an exercise for willpower. Willpower is the ability to control your thoughts and actions in order to do what you want. It’s the power of self-control. It’s your personal power to overcome things like temptations, addictions, and cravings.

Willpower helps you stick to something, but it’s like a muscle that needs to be developed and strengthened. You can do this through intermittent fasting. Intermittent fasting is basically a workout to improve your willpower.

Some people don’t think they have the willpower to do fasting. But, fasting increases your willpower to do more fasting. If you get started, it will get easier and easier.

Fasting removes barriers that keep people from doing fasting in the first place, such as:
• Hunger
• Cravings
• Bad habits

Tips to help with fasting and enhance your willpower:
1. Start doing intermittent fasting (skip breakfast and don’t consume snacks) without keto
2. Add MCT oil
3. Start Healthy Keto

In this video, we’re going to talk about what’s behind the yellow bumpy patches around your eyelids.

This is a condition called xanthelasma. Xanthelasma is more prevalent with:
• Pregnancy
• Diabetes
• Obesity
• Hypothyroidism
• Gallbladder issues (cholestasis and biliary cirrhosis)

As I dug around for research, I found that xanthelasma is associated with the gallbladder.

Xanthelasma is when cholesterol deposits form underneath the skin. These can also be known as plaques.

When you have scar tissue around the bile ducts, the bile starts to back up into the liver, bloodstream, and body tissues. This is why you see cholesterol building up under the skin around your eyes.

Without the adequate production and release of bile, cholesterol can’t be fully broken down.

The key is to restore healthy bile levels.

The best remedies for xanthelasma are:
• Purified bile salts
• Castor oil and apple dicer vinegar (topically applied with a cotton ball)
• Normalize hormone levels (estrogen and insulin)
• Healthy Keto

Why Athletes Need More Potassium

In this video, we’re going to talk about why athletes need more potassium in their diet.

Your body has something called the sodium-potassium pump in each of your cells. This pump helps maintain the electrical gradient of the cell, keeping potassium inside the cell and sodium outside the cell.

Essentially, it helps keep your cells charged up. Your cells act like batteries that activate nerves and muscles.

If you’re deficient in potassium, you will feel weaker because your muscles won’t be able to relax and contract as well as they need to. This can lower your endurance and performance as an athlete.

A lot of the focus of sports health is on sodium. However, you need about twice the amount of potassium as you do sodium.

Try adding more greens and potassium-rich foods to your diet over a couple of days. Observe how much energy, strength, endurance, and muscle tone you have during your workouts. Then, restrict your potassium intake and notice what happens to your strength.

I’m willing to bet that you’ll feel a significant difference between having plenty of potassium and having not enough potassium.

There are two ways to help improve your potassium level. The first is to increase your potassium intake by eating plenty of healthy vegetables or taking supplements. The second is to avoid foods that deplete potassium.

Refined carbohydrates and sugars can deplete the potassium in your body.

When done right, the Healthy Keto diet is a great tool for maintaining healthy nutrient levels. However, as you first start keto, you can experience a drop in potassium levels due to losing body fat. Stored glucose contains water and electrolytes, which is why losing weight can deplete your body of potassium. You can use an electrolyte powder to help combat these effects.

Avoid Sardines with Soybean Oil

This toxic oil could be hiding in your sardines!

0:26 Why you should avoid sardine with soybean oil
2:32 Bulletproof your immune system *free course!

In this video, we’re going to talk about why you should avoid sardines with soybean oil.

I recently bought some sardines that I thought were in olive oil. However, it turns out that it was actually in soybean oil (I’ll be careful to check next time!).

Always check the package to make sure that your sardines are in olive oil or water. Soybean oil is full of omega-6 fatty acids. This can nullify the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids naturally found in sardines.

Soybean oil is the most used oil in America today. It’s also the second most used oil in the world.

Soybean oil is used in everything from fast food to animal feed to canned foods.

Research shows that soy oil can induce obesity and diabetes more than fructose. Soybean oil can also contribute to insulin resistance and fatty liver disease.

Soybean oil affects the hypothalamus, reduces oxytocin, and influences over 100 genes in the brain.

Because soybean oil is so heavily processed, it acts as a powerful oxidizer, it is estrogenic, and it can induce inflammation—especially in your arteries.

If all of that isn’t bad enough, soybeans are also GMOs. This means they are exposed to the chemical glyphosate.

In summary, make sure that your sardines do not contain soybean oil. Instead, choose sardines with water or olive oil.
