Tattoo Ink: Is it Safe or Dangerous?

0:12 What to know about tattoos
1:22 Is tattoo ink safe?
2:15 What if you already have tattoos?
2:39 Bulletproof your immune system *free course!

Today we’re going to talk about taboo ink and whether or not it’s safe. When you get a tattoo, they’re injecting certain pigments into your skin.

A few points on tattoos to keep in mind:
• Tattoo ink is not regulated by the FDA
• You can’t donate blood if you’ve gotten a tattoo within the same year
• If you get a tattoo, make sure they do autoclave sterilization
• There is a small risk of infection
• There is a risk you could be allergic to the pigment
• There are certain pigments that can be toxic
• Some of the ingredients in the pigments could be carcinogenic
• There are no systematic safety studies on tattoos

If you’re going to get a tattoo, you may want to make sure that the ink they expose you to is non-toxic.

Here are a few of the chemicals and different things that can be in tattoo ink:
1. Heavy metals (mercury, lead, cadmium, aluminum)
2. Acrylics
3. Solvents
4. Plastics
5. PETs and PBHs

Manufacturers also don’t have to reveal their ingredients if it’s a proprietary blend. If you want to get a tattoo, make sure the ink is organic, free of iron oxide, and free of the things above.

If you already have tattoos, I think one of the best things you could do is to eat very healthily and make sure your immune system is very strong.

In this video, we’re going to talk about how to boost your serotonin: the happiness hormone.

Serotonin is a hormone that has many important functions in the body.

Serotonin…
• Contributes to feelings of happiness
• Raises mood
• Calms the mind
• Increases focus
• Reduces anxiety

A deficiency in serotonin can cause:
• A lowered mood
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Irritability
• Low self-esteem
• Insomnia
• Memory loss

The question is, what are the best ways to boost your serotonin? You can boost your serotonin naturally with these six tips!

1. Take L-tryptophan on an empty stomach (converts to serotonin)

2. Exercise (increases the conversation from tryptophan to serotonin)

3. Sun/vitamin D (Increases conversation from tryptophan to serotonin)

4. Probiotics, including kimchi and sauerkraut (increases tryptophan in the gut)

5. Massage (increases serotonin and lowers cortisol)

6. Fasting (significantly increases serotonin levels)

If your mood is feeling low, try starting with intermittent fasting and see if your mood doesn’t improve! Let me know how it works for you in the comments below.

5:09 Share your success story!

A1C is a really good predictor of all sorts of diseases. An A1C test is a test that gives you feedback on your average blood sugars over 2-3 months. It measures glycated hemoglobin. Glucose that has stuck to the protein in red blood cells creates glycated hemoglobin. The quantity of sugar and protein combining together will raise your A1C.

In my opinion, the A1C test is better than a one-time glucose test because it tells you what’s happening over a period of time. I also believe that high A1C is basically caused by a high-carb diet.

There are many disease processes that can occur when you have high A1C. This is because high sugar can create a lot of oxidation and problems with all sorts of tissues.

But, there are four main tissues that high glucose effects:
1. Combination of the brain and nervous system
2. The kidneys
3. The eyes
4. The arteries

How to help improve A1C:
• Reduce complications from glycation (take fat-soluble vitamin B1 in the form of benfotiamine)
• Reduce carbs
• Reduce frequency of eating (intermittent fasting)

Timestamps
0:00 What is oral thrush?
1:10 Who is at risk for oral thrush?
1:40 The best remedy for oral thrush
2:18 Share your success story!

Today we’re going to talk about oral thrush and a high carb diet. Normally, candida lives inside the body, and it doesn’t bother you. But if you take an antibiotic, which kills all of the bacteria that are keeping the candida in check, then you could have an overgrowth of this yeast. This can lead to oral thrush. Typically, if you have oral thrush, your tongue will look white.

You can also develop oral thrush if you consume a lot of sugar. Candida loves sugar and things that turn into sugar quickly, like refined grains and starches. These things can turn neutral candida into an unfriendly version of candida called candidiasis.

Candidiasis can live in the:
• Vagina
• Skin
• Throat
• Mouth
• Esophagus
• GI tract

A few things that can increase your risk for oral thrush:
• Steroids
• Stress
• HIV
• Birth control pills or high estrogen
• Diabetes
• Antibiotics

The best remedy for oral thrush:
*Grapefruit seed extract
Grapefruit seed extract is a fantastic natural anti-fungal. You can take 10 drops of grapefruit seed extract mixed in 3 tbsp. of water 1-3 times a day. You can also swish it around in your mouth for about 20 seconds before swallowing.

In this video, we’re going to talk about the difference between restless legs syndrome and nocturnal leg jerks.

First, let’s talk about nocturnal legs jerks (NLJ). This is can also be called hyping jerk or myoclonic jerk.

This situation can resemble the feeling of jumping when you’re startled or falling while you’re sleeping.

With nocturnal leg jerks, you may experience an increase in heart rate and breathing.

Nocturnal leg jerks are typically caused by a magnesium deficiency. Leafy greens and magnesium supplements can help promote normal and healthy levels of magnesium.

Periodic limb movement disorder is another potential cause of leg jerks. This is often caused by a deficiency in dopamine or low iron. Periodic limb movement may be worsened by:
• Antidepressants
• Stress
• Lack of sleep
• Caffeine
• Alcohol

Now, let’s talk about restless legs syndrome (RLS).

RLS is a result of lactic acid build-up, or lactic acidosis. This is when your body’s pH becomes too acidic. Lactic acidosis makes your muscles very restless.

A high-carb diet can deplete vitamin B1. In turn, this can cause high lactic acid and restless legs syndrome.

The best remedy for RLS is nutritional yeast and a low-carb diet.

Are konjac noodles keto-friendly? Other names for konjac noodles are miracle noodles or shirataki noodles. Konjac noodles are keto-friendly. They are 97% water and 3% fiber. Fiber is a carb, but it doesn’t have any effect on insulin.

This type of fiber can have some interesting effects, including:
• It may act as a detox
• It may help support weight loss
• It may help loosen mucus

Something to keep in mind about these noodles is that they are flavorless. So, you’ll have to add things to them to make them flavorful. These noodles do not have the same texture as pasta noodles, but they’re similar. You may also get very thirsty if you consume these noodles.

Benefits of konjac noodles:
• They can decrease hunger
• They may help stabilize your blood sugars
• They may help decrease constipation
• They don’t have any calories

Other keto pasta alternatives:
• Spaghetti squash
• Zucchini noodles

In this video, we’re going to talk about why going to the beach can help lower your cortisol levels.

There are many therapeutic benefits of going to the beach that relate to lowering your cortisol levels.

Cortisol is a stress hormone that can cause problems in the body if you have too much of it.

Let’s talk about the benefits of going to the beach.

1. Vitamin D – Sun exposure at the beach can increase your vitamin D levels. In turn, this can help lower your cortisol. Sunlight and vitamin D are also important for normalizing your circadian rhythm, which can naturally support healthy sleep and cortisol levels.

2. Seawater – Saltwater is rich in magnesium, sodium, potassium, and selenium. These can help with asthma, bronchitis, arthritis, aches, and pains. Saltwater is also very relaxing, which can help reduce stress and lower your levels of cortisol.

3. Sound (waves) – The sound of waves at the beach can be very relaxing for your body. In turn, this stimulates the parasympathetic system and promotes normal cortisol levels.

4. Breeze – The sea breeze can pick up the negative ions from crashing waves. Negative ions help increase oxygen in the body and potentially decrease your risk of depression.

5. Color – Blue skies and aqua-blue waters help many people feel relaxed and at peace.

If you’re feeling stressed or have high cortisol, try making a trip to the beach or spending more time in nature. Let me know how it helps you in the comments below.

There is an interesting connection between a vitamin C deficiency and COVID-19. Check this out!

Timestamps
0:00 COVID-19 and vitamin C deficiency
1:07 What does vitamin C do?
2:03 Which foods are high in vitamin C?
2:22 Share your success story!

I wanted to create this video to increase your awareness of the importance of vitamin C, especially in helping to prevent infections.

An interesting new study demonstrated that 82% of critically ill COVID-19 patients were vitamin C deficient. Overall, they had 4x less vitamin C than the normal group. In the study, 18% of the group had 8x less vitamin C than normal.

If you don’t have enough vitamin C, you could be predisposed to getting viral infections as well as bacterial infections. Also, if you have an infection, your body’s requirement for vitamin C goes up. This means that people that don’t have enough vitamin C are at risk for more viral infections. Once they have a viral infection, they need more vitamin C to counter it.

Vitamin C:
1. Is an antioxidant
• It also increases the body’s ability to make antioxidants

2. Supports the immune system
• It’s crucial in making more phagocytes (which eat pathogens)
• It’s necessary to make T-cells (which help kill viruses)
• It increases antibodies (which attack foreign pathogens)
• It decreases the risk of acute respiratory infection

3. Is a powerful anti-inflammatory
• It’s especially important if you have an overactive immune system that produces an excessive amount of inflammation

The top foods that contain vitamin C:
1. Peppers
2. Sauerkraut
3. Berries
4. Vegetables
5. Lemons and limes

Today we’re going to talk about steroid drugs. To be more specific, we’re talking about corticosteroids. This is different than androgens and testosterone. This drug is mainly used for anything connected with inflammation.

The two main effects steroids have on the body:
1. Suppression of the entire immune system
• Your immune system is your army to fight off pathogens. Suppressing your entire immune system could be dangerous.

2. Suppression of inflammation
• Suppressing inflammation can be dangerous, especially for the healing process.

Taking steroids can increase your risk of having a cold turn into a severe pneumonia infection. Steroids may also increase the risk of getting TB. 25% of the population has a latent TB infection. This means the infection is inactive in the person’s body, but steroids can potentially turn the infection into an active form.

I believe steroids are a double-edged sword and should only be taken short-term and infrequently. When you stop taking steroids after chronic use, your adrenals have basically shut down, potentially leaving you with withdrawal symptoms.

Withdrawal symptoms can include:
• Osteoporosis
• Ulcers
• Severe infection
• Weight gain
• Diabetes
• Cataracts
• Skin problems

Alternatives to steroids:
1. Curcumin (200g)
2. Boswellia
3. Green tea
4. Vitamin D
5. Fasting

Today we’re going to talk about bentonite clay and aluminum. There is aluminum in bentonite clay, but bentonite clay has been promoted as a great thing to take to help detoxify the body. So, can it cause aluminum toxicity or not?

Bentonite clay is dissolved minerals from volcanic ash and marine environments. It’s layers of very thin sheets of minerals. There are many different minerals, but the main two are a combination of silica and aluminum.

Even though there is aluminum in bentonite clay, it is tightly bound with silica, and they’re not going to leech out into your body. So, you don’t have to worry about getting aluminum poisoning when you take bentonite clay.

The unique thing about bentonite clay over other types of clay is that it has eight times the pull factor or magnetic force to absorb and attract heavy metals, toxins, and other things. It has a very strong negative charge that acts as a magnet for certain things.

Bentonite clay could attach to things like:
• Arsenic
• Lead
• Mercury
• Toxins
• Mold
• Aflatoxins

Bentonite clay could also help decrease bacterial loads, which can be beneficial if someone has an infection. It can be good for people who have IBS. It may also be beneficial for burns or to help with poison ivy.

Find out when the best time is to take vitamin D, especially for better sleep.

0:24 When is the best time to take vitamin D?
0:45 When to take vitamin D for sleep
2:00 Other great vitamins for sleep problems
2:30 Share your success story!

Let’s talk about the best time to take vitamin D. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin. This means that you’re going to have better absorption (30-50% better) if you take vitamin D with fat.

Some vitamin D supplements contain fat within the supplement itself. But, if you’re going to take vitamin D as a supplement that doesn’t already contain fat, you may want to take it with a meal that contains fat.

Great sources of fat to have with your vitamin D supplement:
• MCT oil
• Olive oil
• Avocado
• Nuts
• Dairy
• Eggs
• Meat that has saturated fat

If you have a sleep problem, you may want to try taking your vitamin D before bed. Vitamin D may help increase your non-REM sleep. This is the deep delta wave sleep that occurs in the first half of sleep. Vitamin D may also help reduce your cortisol (stress) levels.

Most people will sleep fine, if not better when they take vitamin D before bed. However, a small percentage of people may find that taking vitamin D before bed wakes them up. These people may need to take vitamin D earlier in the day.

Other great vitamins for sleep problems:
• Vitamin B5
• Folate
• Vitamin B1 (especially if you can’t turn your brain off at night)

Long, medium-intensity workouts or short, high-intensity workouts—which is better? Find out!

0:00 Introduction: Why exercise intensity is important
0:10 The four exercise variables
0:55 Benefits of high-intensity exercise
3:45 Share your success story!

In this video, we’re going to talk about why exercise intensity is important.

Let’s take a look at the “anatomy” of exercise. What makes exercise effective for supporting your health?

There are four variables to look at:
1. Duration
2. Intensity
3. Recovery
4. Frequency

Our focus today will be on the intensity of exercise.

High-intensity workouts have many benefits. Take a look:

1. Produces a greater increase in aerobic capacity, which boosts the amount of oxygen delivered to the muscles, promotes exercise recovery, and improves stamina.

2. Greater reduction in risk of cardiovascular disease and premature death.

3. Significant improvement in insulin sensitivity.

4. Significant increase in growth hormone, which promotes fat-burning, immune function, calcium retention, and thyroid hormone conversion.

Overall, research suggests that short bursts of high-intensity exercise, like HIIT, are better for a healthy body than prolonged workouts, like running a marathon.

HIIT is a great addition to the Healthy Keto and intermittent fasting plan.

In this video, we’re going to talk about why abdominal exercises won’t shrink your belly.

If you go to the gym, you might notice people doing many forms of abdominal exercise. While this may strengthen your core, it won’t shrink your belly.

Studies show that there is no significant effect on weight, body fat percentage, abdominal circumference, abdominal skin fold, or abdominal subcutaneous fat when exercising your abdominal muscles. Abdominal exercise only affects your endurance.

What about your belly?

You have subcutaneous fat under your skin, and you have fat on your liver. The first thing that happens when you gain weight is your liver fills up with fat. From there, the fat spills out around your other organs.

The three types of fat are:
• Subcutaneous (just beneath the skin)
• Visceral (deeper fat around your organs)
• Liver fat

All of this fat comes from the same thing: insulin.

High levels of insulin cause your body to store fat and prevent your body from burning fat.

High insulin is caused by carbohydrate consumption.

If you’re new to my channel, check out my other videos on how to get rid of belly fat.

There are three important things you need to do to lose belly fat:
1. Lower your carbs (Healthy Keto)
2. Intermittent fasting
3. HIIT (high-intensity interval training)

Keto and intermittent fasting will provide 85% of the results. The other 15% of results will come from exercise.
