Cottage cheese vs. plain yogurt, which is better? Find out!

Timestamps
0:00 Which is better, cottage cheese or plain yogurt?
0:22 Cottage cheese vs. plain yogurt
1:05 What to look for on the label of your cottage cheese

Let’s talk about which is better for you, cottage cheese or plain yogurt. When comparing cottage cheese vs. plain yogurt, cottage cheese is more keto-friendly.

Cottage cheese:
Fat—4.3g
Carbs—3.4g
Protein—11g

Plain yogurt:
Fat—3.5g
Carbs—4.7g
Protein—3.5g

Cottage cheese also contains:
• B12, B2, B1, and other B vitamins
• Calcium and phosphorus
• Selenium and zinc
• Vitamin D

It’s important to read the label of the cottage cheese you buy because, in many cases, it contains maltodextrin and modified food starch (MSG). These are two of the worst things to consume on the keto diet. It’s also important to make sure it’s organic and that it’s whole milk vs. low-fat cottage cheese.

Today we’re going to talk about what you can do if you have a fatty liver. I’m also going to share an incredible success story to help inspire you on your journey to better health.

After just six months on keto, a patient with a liver that was beyond just fatty went from having an enlarged liver to a normal liver. This was an incredible success story, and I want to hear yours too!

Many people who have a fatty liver also have diabetes. This is because both a fatty liver and diabetes are typically caused by the same thing, which is insulin resistance.

Too much insulin can lead to insulin resistance. Insulin resistance can lead to diabetes. Excess insulin and a high-carb diet (which created this situation) can lead to a fatty liver.

Potential remedies for a fatty liver:
1. Get on the Healthy Keto Diet (low-carb and no sugar)
2. Cut out snacking
3. Do intermittent fasting
4. Add choline to your diet

Transitioning off psychiatric drugs can be done. But, it has to be done correctly. Here’s what you need to know.

Timestamps
0:00 Transitioning off of psychiatric drugs
0:15 Why you need your doctor’s supervision
1:15 Where to start

Transitioning off of psychiatric drugs has to be done correctly. This means it has to be done under your doctor’s supervision.

Why do you need your doctor’s supervision to come off of psychiatric drugs?
1. If you’ve taken a psychiatric drug for a long period of time, you may be dependent on it. If you come off of it too quickly, chances are you will have side effects. You need a very slow transition off of this medication, along with supervision.

2. If you take a natural remedy and a psychiatric drug at the same time, you could end up with too much of a particular neurotransmitter, creating other problems.

It’s important to find a doctor that will work with you to help you transition off of the medication and provide supervision. The longer a person is on a psychiatric medication, the more their neurons are dependent on this medication. Any alteration can throw their body out of balance.

It may be best to start with a diet change. Healthy keto and intermittent fasting may help affect your brain in a positive way. This will lay a foundation to make it easier to come off of the medication.

Other things that may help:
• Exercise
• Vitamins
• Minerals
• Trace minerals
• Essential fats

Intermittent Fasting Basics:

Fasting has a very interesting influence on the autonomic nervous system. Here’s what you need to know.

Timestamps
0:00 What is the autonomic nervous system?
0:50 Fasting and the autonomic nervous system
2:00 Symptoms of diabetic autonomic neuropathy
2:45 Natural remedies for diabetic autonomic neuropathy

Let’s talk about the influence of fasting on the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system is part of the nervous system that works on automatic. It does many different things.

The three divisions of the autonomic nervous system:
1. Sympathetic (fight or flight)
2. Parasympathetic (rest and digest)
3. Enteric (part of the digestive system)

There are some interesting studies that show a significant improvement in the parasympathetic nervous system and significant suppression of the sympathetic nervous system with fasting.

In other words, it activates the parasympathetic nervous system (the ability to rest, digest, and recover) while also lowering the stress response.

There is a condition called diabetic autonomic neuropathy that occurs with diabetics. It’s well known that diabetes can cause peripheral neuropathy. But, diabetes can also destroy the nerves of the autonomic nervous system. This can greatly influence your heart, digestion, and other organs.

Diabetic autonomic neuropathy can potentially lead to health problems, such as:
• Increased pulse rate
• High blood pressure
• Erectile dysfunction
• Orthostatic hypotension
• Constipation
• Gastroparesis
• Hypoglycemia
• Thermoregulation problems

If you have any of the above symptoms, you may want to start fasting. Fasting may help improve your overall autonomic nervous system.

Natural remedies for diabetic autonomic neuropathy:
• Benfotiamine
• Alpha-lipoic acid

Let’s talk about how to spot the differences between a calcium deficiency and a vitamin D deficiency. Some of the symptoms of a calcium deficiency and a vitamin D deficiency are very similar. This could be because a calcium deficiency could be caused by not having enough vitamin D.

Symptoms of a calcium deficiency:
• Numbness or tingling in the lips, mouth, fingers, or toes
• Muscle spasms or aches
• Confusion
• Spasm in the throat
• Stiffness
• Tetany
• Red spots

A few things to keep in mind regarding a calcium deficiency:
• Are you consuming dairy? We get a lot of calcium from dairy
• Dark leafy green greens contain calcium
• Trout is high in calcium
• Clams are high in calcium
• Calcium channel blockers can potentially cause a calcium deficiency
• Calcium is influenced by magnesium (too much or too little magnesium could lead to a calcium deficiency)
• If you’re too alkaline, you’re not going to be able to absorb calcium
• If you’re low in vitamin K2, calcium can’t be transported out of the joints or the blood

Symptoms of a vitamin D deficiency:
• Depression
• High blood pressure
• Insomnia
• Muscle aches (lower back pain)
• Bone pain
• Lowered immune system
• Inflammation

A few things to keep in mind regarding a vitamin D deficiency:
• Are you getting enough sun?
• Fatty fish contains vitamin D
• Being overweight, age, and darker skin are all risk factors for a vitamin D deficiency

1:50 A challenge for you
2:33 Share your success story!

In this video, we’re going to talk about why you should always stretch after your workout, not before to help decrease the risk of injury and increase flexibility.

This may seem counterintuitive. However, most workout injuries occur when the muscle is in a lengthening phase, not a contracted phase.

Static stretching before your workout…
• Does not prevent injuries
• Lowers performance
• Weakens muscles
• Decreases blood flow to your muscles

The best thing you can do is stretch after your workout.

Dynamic stretching after your workouts boosts your parasympathetic nervous system.

It’s unnatural to stretch your muscles without any sort of contraction.

Eccentric contractions are great for stretching. This helps:
• Reduce the risk of injury (50% reduction in risk of hamstring injury!)
• Train muscle to control that stretching force
• Increase your flexibility

Strength training can also increase your range of motion and flexibility.

I have a challenge for you:
Try stretching before your workout for one day. The next day, try stretching after your workout.

Record your results and let me know how it changes your workout performance, endurance, and flexibility in the comments below.

In this video, we’re going to talk about a new cancer strategy.

The conventional strategy for cancer is to use chemotherapy. However, this form of treatment also harms your immune system. The ideal cancer strategy would be one that improves your overall health without causing damage to other parts of your body.

Cancer starts in the mitochondria. A type of mitochondria damage occurs where the normal cells start to transition into a cancer cell.

The metabolism of cancer cells is different from that of normal cells. Normal cells use respiration as their metabolism—they need oxygen to stay fueled. Cancer cells use fermentation—they don’t need oxygen to stay fueled. Cancer cells are also immortal—they live forever and rapidly divide.

These are some of the key differences between cancer cells and normal cells.

The best approach seems to be with starving off cancer cells. This requires cutting off their fuel source—carbohydrates, protein, and fat. The problem is, you also need these nutrients to survive.

While ketones were believed to starve off cancer cells, we now know that cancer cells need ketones to provide a compound called Acetyl-CoA. This is required for the tumor cell membrane using a “door” or pathway called SCOT.

When this pathway is open, cancer cells can create their membranes, survive, and thrive. When this pathway is shut, they can’t.

Certain drugs act as SCOT inhibitors that help kill off cancer cells. Unfortunately, these drugs have side effects. There are, however, natural SCOT inhibitors that have little to no side effects that may potentially work.

I have a research team working hard to test these natural SCOT inhibitors. But I need your help. If you would like to donate, please follow the link above.

2:37 How to get sulfur in your diet
3:18 Causes of low sulfur
4:26 Share your success story!

In this video, we’re going to talk about sulfur in your diet. Are you getting enough sulfur?

Sulfur is needed for the creation of two important amino acids—methionine and cysteine.

Methionine is an essential amino acid, which means you must get it from your diet; your body can’t create it on its own.

Sulfur is also important for glutathione, which is essential for healthy liver detoxification.

If you are deficient in glutathione, you can accumulate too much hydrogen peroxide in your body.

Sulfur is essential for:
• Healthy keratin levels. This protein makes up the majority of the structure of your hair, skin, and nails.
• The creation of insulin
• Collagen synthesis
• Detoxification
• Decreasing kidney stones in dogs
• Lowering histamine levels
• Phase 1 and 2 detoxification enzymes

The best sources of sulfur include:
• Fish
• Seafood
• Beef
• Eggs
• Cheese
• Garlic
• Onions
• Brussels sprouts
• Cabbage

Causes of low sulfur levels include:
1. Taking acetaminophen
2. Infection
3. Toxins
4. Consuming too many proteins without methionine (fruit, vegetables, legumes)
5. High estrogen

4:40 Bulletproof your immune system *free course!

Today we’re going to talk about infertility. I’m also going to cover a few potential ways to help boost fertility.

To become more fertile, there are two main things you need to focus on:

1. Avoid things that interfere with the endocrine system. This would mean avoiding endocrine disrupters, which are things like pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides. Eating organic foods is a great way to do this.

2. Take certain natural things to help enhance fertility.

I believe, overall, the most important thing you can do to help boost fertility is to get on the Healthy Keto diet.

Natural remedies to support fertility:
1. L-methyl folate
• Protects DNA
2. Zinc
• May help with egg maturity
3. Selenium
• May help decrease the risk of miscarriage
• Supports the fluid around the egg
4. Vitamin D
• Supports the uterus
• Supports the placenta
• May decrease the risk for PCOS
5. Omega-3 fatty acids
• Supports cervical mucus
• Supports the uterus
6. B-vitamins
• Supports the ovaries
7. Iron
• May help increase fertility
8. Vitamin E
• Supports cervical mucus
9. Chasteberry
• May help increase fertility
• May help decrease prolactin
10. Shatavari
• May help increase cervical mucus
• May help decrease the risk for PCOS
• Supports follicle development
• May help improve the quality of the egg
11. Maca root
• Supports the endocrine system
12. White peony root
• Supports fertility
• May help decrease the risk for PCOS
• May help decrease prolactin
• May help inhibit endometriosis
• May help convert testosterone to estrogen
13. D-chiro-inositol
• Can make insulin more sensitive

Always eat cooked mushrooms vs. raw mushrooms. Here’s why.

Timestamps
0:00 Raw mushrooms vs. cooked mushrooms
0:52 The best way to eat mushrooms

Let’s talk about why you should always consume cooked mushrooms vs. raw mushrooms.

Mushrooms are a fungus, and they have chitins in their membranes. This substance is completely indigestible. So, when you eat raw mushrooms, you could get a stomach ache.

The best way to have mushrooms is to cook or steam your mushrooms, so you can digest this material a lot better and avoid a stomach ache.

Mushrooms also have the precursor to make vitamin D2. So, if you leave raw mushrooms in the sun for a day, you can build up more raw material to make vitamin D2, which will then be converted to vitamin D3.

Could your mid-back actually be the cause of your stress or vice versa? Check this out!

Timestamps

In this short video, I want to talk about the relationship between your mid-back and your stress level.

The sympathetic nervous system is the fight or flight mechanism in the body, and when it’s activated, you go through stress. The sympathetic nervous system is located in your mid-back.

If you have stiffness or pain in your mid-back, it’s going to keep you in stress mode. If you’re in stress mode, this could keep your back stiff and in pain. Eating the wrong foods can also cause your digestive system to spasm, leading to back pain, which can keep you in stress mode.

Natural remedies for stress:
1. Get an adjustment in your mid-back from a chiropractor
2. Get a massage on your mid-back
3. Stretch your mid-back (using the cats and dogs Egoscue method)

You can also use a technique I developed using a specific massage tool I created.

Potassium can influence how much calcium builds up in your arteries. Here’s what you should know.

0:28 Research
0:53 How much potassium do you need?
1:15 How potassium influences calcium build-up?

I found some interesting research on how potassium can influence how much calcium builds up in your arteries.

This study showed for the first time that low dietary potassium promotes vascular calcification, aortic stiffness, and thickness within the coronary arteries. This study was done on mice.

One of the best tests to help determine if you have calcium in your arteries is the CAC test. This test is probably one of the best predictors of overall mortality.

Most people don’t get the amount of potassium they need. The average person needs about 4,700 milligrams of potassium every day. To get that, you need to consume a good amount of dietary potassium.

Calcium and potassium work together. When you’re low in potassium, calcium tends to build up on the inside of the cells. If a person is getting high blood pressure, they need to start looking at their potassium. I have found that people who have more potassium do much better with their blood pressure. Vitamin D may also help lower blood pressure.

I think a lack of potassium is part of the problem. But, I think another problem is inflammation in the arteries. For the calcium to start depositing on the inside of the artery, there first has to be inflammation.

Usually, the inflammation will come from some type of oxidation in combination with low antioxidants. This could happen from consuming too many refined flour products and sugar.

3:46 How to bulletproof your immune system (free course!)

In this video, we’re going to talk about the best mineral for strengthening your bones. If you have osteopenia or osteoporosis and you want to strengthen your bones, this video is for you.

The missing mineral that many people need to strengthen their bones is strontium. Strontium is a powerful trace mineral. Trace minerals are minerals you need in very small amounts. This is unlike calcium, which you need a lot of for strong bones.

You need strontium and calcium in a 1:1000 ratio.

Studies show that strontium can decrease the risk of bone fractures by up to 41%.

If you have a bone problem, strontium could be a powerful addition to your protocol along with:
• Calcium
• Vitamin D3
• Vitamin K2
• Magnesium

Strontium is also involved in a specific type of microplankton called acantaarian. Unlike other forms of plankton, acantaarian plankton does not fossilize—they dissolve in saltwater. This is why one good source of strontium is sea salt.

REFERENCE:
Study 1 2000-2004: This was a three-year, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, which is considered the “gold standard” for scientific research. Its results were reported in 2004. In a 3-phase trial, researchers randomly assigned 1649 postmenopausal women with osteoporosis to a strontium or placebo group. The strontium group were given 2 gm of oral strontium ranelate per day or placebo for three years. (This supplement contains 750 mg or 1/3 that dose.) Those in the strontium group experienced a 41% reduction in risk of a vertebral fracture, compared with no reduction for the study participants who were given a placebo. In addition, participants receiving strontium experienced an increase of bone mineral density at month 36 by 14.4% at the lumbar spine and 8.3% at the femoral neck, which the placebo group did not.

Study 2 in 2008: This study followed on the heels of two other large double-blind, placebo-controlled studies. Researchers concluded that strontium decreases the risk of vertebral fractures by 41% over 3 years and by 49% within the first year of treatment. It also decreases the risk of non-vertebral fractures by 16% over three years and for high-risk patients, the risk of hip fracture is decreased by an astounding 36% over 3 years. In 5-year followups of these double-blind, placebo-controlled studies, researchers found that the anti-fracture protection of strontium continues over time. Even better, the effectiveness of strontium is not adversely affected by a number of significant variables, including: age, previous number of vertebral fractures, obesity, family history of osteoporosis, and smoking. The supplement was found to be extremely safe, with none of the horrible side effects of prescription drugs for osteoporosis.

Green tea is the ultimate anti-aging beverage. Find out why!

1:57 Share your success story!

In this video, we’re going to talk about the benefits of green tea for your skin.

You probably already know that green tea is a healthy beverage to drink, but you can also apply it topically to your skin. I’m going to talk about the benefits of drinking green tea and using it topically for skin health.

Green tea is rich in polyphenols, which are phytonutrients. These are what give green tea its many benefits for reducing the signs of aging.

1. Green tea has powerful anti-photoaging properties, which means that it reduces the effects of UV light on skin aging.

2. Green tea increases collagen and elastin fibers by suppressing enzymes that degrade collagen and elastin. This helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve the overall health of your skin.

3. Green tea has potent anti-inflammatory properties.

4. Green tea has the ability to induce autophagy, which is the recycling of old, damaged proteins to use for new proteins.

5. Green tea can promote ROS-scavenging enzymes, which help clean up free radicles that cause damage to your DNA. Green tea can also decrease the amount of hydrogen peroxide that the body creates, resulting in less oxidative stress.

6. Green tea acts as a potent stress mediator, helping your body better resist the effects of stress.

7. Green tea can potentially decrease both melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer.

Having green tea while you’re fasting is a great way to boost these benefits for your skin.

In this video, we’re going to talk about a great remedy for irritable bowel syndrome and ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, and other types of inflammatory conditions that affect your bowels.

The remedy is turmeric. Both animal and human studies show a daily serving of 2 grams of turmeric for irritable bowel syndrome can help reduce inflammation.

The active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin. Curcumin is a special plant compound that acts as a potent anti-inflammatory. In fact, curcumin is one of nature’s most powerful natural anti-inflammatories.

Curcumin inhibits two enzymes involved with the increase of inflammation (COX2 and 5-LOX). It also reduces pain similarly to aspirin and ibuprofen. Curcumin works similar to vitamin D.

The best part is that curcumin is natural and has virtually no side effects.

You can increase the absorption of curcumin by taking 1 tbsp of curcumin powder with 1-2 eggs and 1 tsp of coconut oil.

You could also try adding 1 tbsp of curcumin to 1 quart of boiling water for 10 minutes and then let it cool down. Drink the mixture within four hours.

0:00 Diabetes and exercise
0:14 The two types of exercise
1:13 The best exercise for diabetes

Let’s talk about the best exercise for diabetes, prediabetes, and insulin resistance.

Aerobic exercise (with oxygen ):
• Walking
• Yoga
• Slower type workouts

Anaerobic exercise (without oxygen):
• HIIT (high-intensity interval training)
• Sprinting
• High-intensity fast exercise

With aerobic exercise, you burn your stored glycogen (sugar) for the first 20 minutes. After that, your body starts tapping into fat.

With anaerobic exercise, you burn sugar, but you have a delayed effect with fat-burning. Fat burning sometimes occurs 24-48 hours later when you’re sleeping.

Anaerobic exercise may be the best type of exercise for diabetes, especially high-intensity interval training (HIIT). You don’t have to do a lot of anaerobic exercise to get the benefits from it. However, it’s very uncomfortable and sometimes painful because you’re putting more effort into it.

I encourage people to do both anaerobic type exercises and aerobic exercises. Aerobic type exercises are great for reducing stress and promoting sleep.

Top two benefits of anaerobic exercise:
• It will spike growth hormone the most (growth hormone is the main fat-burning hormone and anti-aging hormone)
• It could increase insulin sensitivity by 23% more than aerobic exercise (can help improve insulin and get rid of insulin resistance)

You may want to try anaerobic exercise if:
• You are new to keto, and it’s taking a long time for you to adapt
• You’re prediabetic
• You’re a diabetic (type 1 or type 2)
• You have a problem with your metabolism

In this video, we’re going to talk about another reason why you should do healthy keto.

We already know that healthy keto helps with weight loss and many different health conditions. But, when you do Healthy Keto and intermittent fasting, it can also significantly increase your absorption of nutrients.

Fasting alone will decrease your need for nutrients. But what about Healthy Keto?

When you are on Healthy Keto, your insulin level begins to naturally correct itself. Over time, this can heal insulin resistance and promote normal blood sugar levels.

Insulin resistance can block the absorption of many nutrients. Today, I want to focus on the absorption of calcium.

When you fix insulin resistance, your calcium absorption instantly begins to increase.

Avoiding grains and doing fasting helps heal the inside of your colon by reducing inflammation. Inflammation and damage to the gut can lead to the malabsorption of minerals, including calcium.

Vitamin D helps you absorb calcium by 20X. If you’re deficient in vitamin D, you’re likely deficient in calcium too.

Calcium is vital not just for the health of your bones but also for cell-to-cell communication.

When you’re not on Healthy Keto, you’re likely consuming too many phytates—especially if you consume whole grains and soy. Phytates block calcium, zinc, iron, and other minerals. Oxalate-rich foods block calcium too.

Hormone imbalances can also influence your ability to absorb calcium.

Healthy Keto naturally helps your digestion and nutrient absorption by promoting healthy stomach acidity and bile.

Keep in mind that being on a high-carb diet will increase your body’s demand for many nutrients, including vitamin B1, calcium, and vitamin C. This is why Healthy Keto is the best diet for promoting normal and healthy nutrient absorption.
