Today, we’re going to talk about gangrene. Why do some diabetics get gangrene, and others don’t?

What is gangrene?

When you get gangrene, the tissue in the feet and toes, and sometimes in the hands, start to turn:

• Black
• Yellow
• Red
• Green

With gangrene, your tissue is dying. This happens because you’re exposing the tissue to way too much sugar.

When you expose glucose to your vascular system, you get all sorts of destruction that is going to stop the blood flow to the tissue and nerves. You get:

• Oxidation
• Hemorrhaging
• Clotting
• The vascular system becomes thicker and more stiff

Symptoms of gangrene:

• Dead tissue
• Ulcers
• Severe nerve damage
• Pain
• Numbness

The more sugar in the blood, the more vascular problems you’re going to have. To avoid gangrene, you need to limit your sugar intake. Get on the ketogenic diet, and start doing intermittent fasting.

What to do for gangrene:

In 2004 the FDA approved maggot therapy. This is where maggots clean up the dead tissue and clear out the infection. This may actually be more effective than certain surgeries because it:

• Disinfects the area
• Stimulates healing

The maggots also release enzymes and release a broad-spectrum antibiotic to kill the infection. Within one or two days, the infection could be completely cleaned out.

Other things you can do:

• Change your diet (eliminate sugar)
• Take benfotiamine (fat-soluble vitamin B)

In this video, we’re going to talk about the tonsils. What do the tonsils do, and do we really need them?

Yes, you need your tonsils. You do not have any extra organs. You need all of them.

What are the tonsils?
There are four different tonsils. You can look at them as like this lymph tissue that is located in the back of the throat.

What do the tonsils do?
The tonsils are primarily involved with protecting the microbes from getting down into the lung and creating a respiratory infection. Removing the tonsils increases the person’s risk of getting a respiratory infection.

Natural remedies that support the lymph system are:
• Zinc
• Vitamin D

People that have chronic problems with their tonsils tend to be on a diet that is high in sugar or high in dairy products. A ketogenic diet would be the best choice. Intermittent Fasting will also help you strengthen your immune system.

Use MTC Oil to Improve Your Sleep

In this video, we’re going to talk about MCT oil and sleep. There are a ton of great benefits of MCT oil, but today I want to share with you how to use MCT oil to improve sleep quality.

What is MCT oil? – MCT oil is medium-chain triglycerides that convert to ketones very efficiently.

There is a huge connection between getting oxygen and sleeping. We don’t sleep well if we aren’t getting enough oxygen. Ketones actually give you oxygen and less CO2.

The brain prefers ketones if there are enough ketones in your blood. If you’re just starting out on ketosis or you want to spike ketones, you can take MCT oil to do that. Certain parts of the brain that promote sleep can actually run on ketones.

When you take MCT oil, you want to start with a small amount and work your way up to more to avoid digestive issues.

How to use MCT oil for sleep:

• Start off taking 1/2 teaspoon of MCT oil before bed and slowly increase to 1 teaspoon if needed.

Olive Oil Gives a Great Anti-Aging Effect

In this video, we’re going to cover olive oil and aging. There are a ton of great olive oil benefits. One of these great benefits of olive oil is anti-aging.

As you age, you’re more susceptible to damage to your genes, and you have less repair. The more damage you have to your genes, the more diseases you may develop.

Olive oil has a phytonutrient called a phenol, which is a very powerful antioxidant. Phenols can counter oxidants which cause oxidative damage. Phenols may help protect your DNA and reduce oxidative damage to DNA—especially in the mitochondria.

Most oils like soy oil, corn oil, and canola oil are oxidants and create damage to the body. Olive oil is the opposite of that. It’s an antioxidant that has anti-inflammatory properties. Just be sure to use extra-virgin olive oil.

Rachel’s Testimonial

Rachel shares her story of emotional healing, starting in 2012 when she first heard about Dr. Joe. In 2013 she experienced a devastating sexual assault — with traumatic reverberations during the investigation. Through it all, she relied on Dr. Joe’s meditations, and took up the challenging work of reforming her self identity. During a Coherence Healing session at the Santa Fe Advanced Week Long Retreat in 2018, Rachel was a healee, and she felt the release of huge amounts of “victim identity” energy.

I recently had a question from someone wanting to know more about the spleen. So, in this quick video, I’m going to cover a little bit about what the spleen is and what it does.

What is the spleen? The spleen is located underneath the right rib cage, underneath the diaphragm. It’s about 2.8-5.5 inches or 7-14 centimeters.

What does the spleen do?

• It recycles blood and iron (primary function)
• It acts as a blood reserve
• It enhances your immune system
• It kills bacteria

In this video, we’re going to talk all about sugar and how it may be hiding in more of your foods than you think.

There are hidden sugars everywhere. Maybe you’re not consuming white sugar or table sugar, so you think you’re not consuming any sugar at all. But, sugar can go by many different names. The sugar just might be packaged in a healthy way so that it doesn’t even appear to be sugar.

Types of sugar that appear to be healthy, but really aren’t:

• Real cane sugar
• Brown sugar
• Sugar in the raw
• Coconut sugar
• Organic cane sugar
• Fruit juice concentrate
• “Made with real fruit”
• “Made with whole grains”
• Brown rice sugar
• Beet sugar
• Date sugar
• Honey
• Maple syrup
• Agave nectar
• Barley malt

A few more things to consider:

• Carbs – Fiber (something may not have high sugar, but it may still have high carbs)
• Serving size
• Sugar + protein + fat (spikes insulin, glycation)
• Yogurt/breakfast bar (typically filled with sugar)
• Natural does not always mean healthy

In this video, I want to cover goitrogens and thyroid function. We’re going to talk about what goitrogenic foods are and if you should be concerned about them.

What are goitrogenic foods? – It is a food that can cause a goiter (an enlarged thyroid).

The thyroid is in the base of the neck, and it can swell up if it doesn’t have iodine. If someone consumes food that blocks iodine, it can ultimately:

1. Cause more thyroid hormone to be released
2. Cause the thyroid to get bigger

Goitrogenic food list:

• Casava
• Corn
• Cabbage
• Canola
• Soybeans
• Cruciferous Vegetables
• Almonds
• Cherries
• Strawberries
• Spinach
• Sweet Potatoes

Out of these goitrogenic foods, I don’t recommend consuming:

• Casava
• Corn
• Canola
• Soybeans
• Cherries
• Sweet Potatoes

Out of the foods that are fine to consume, cruciferous vegetables could potentially create thyroid problems if:

• You are sensitive to these foods
• You consume large amounts of cruciferous vegetables too frequently
• You have a hypothyroid problem
• You have an iodine deficiency

If you’re concerned about goitrogenic foods or if you have one of the problems above, you need to:

• Take sea kelp
• Don’t consume these foods on a daily basis

Some of the best sources of iodine to protect you from a deficiency that could damage your thyroid health are:

• Shellfish
• Fish
• Sea kelp (not large amounts)

How to Reverse Insulin Resistance

Take Dr. Berg’s Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY or go here: http://bit.ly/2RmaFDS

Download Keto Essentials
http://bit.ly/2DH0d6o

In this video, I want to talk about a question I received from someone who was wondering how to reverse insulin resistance.

What is insulin resistance? – It’s a condition where the cells are no longer absorbing insulin. Without insulin, the cells can’t get fuel, so they’re starving. This makes you crave carbohydrates. A signal is then sent to the pancreas telling it to make more insulin. The average person with Insulin resistance has 5-7 times more insulin than normal.

High levels of insulin create:

• Starved cells
• High blood sugar
• Damage in the body

What causes insulin resistance? – Overexposure to insulin (chronic carbs and frequent eating)

How do we fix this problem? – The prolonged absence of insulin.

If you don’t fix insulin resistance:
• You’re not going to get weight loss
• You’re going to be hungry all of the time

In my opinion, it takes about 3-8+ months to reverse insulin resistance. My guess is that healthy keto with intermittent fasting is responsible for 90%+ of improvements. Healthy keto provides the key nutrients you need to help speed up the process.

If you want to enhance your results you can:

• Add exercise
• Lower your stress
• Get more sleep
• Get plenty of nutrients (zinc, vitamin D, chromium, potassium, magnesium)

How do you know if insulin resistance is going away?

1. Your hunger is going down
2. You’re losing belly fat
3. Your blood pressure is going down
4. Your blood sugars are good
5. No dawn phenomenon
6. You have more energy
7. You’re satisfied when you eat
