3:10 Bulletproof your immune system (free course!)

Today we’re going to cover why people typically sleep better in a cold room. The temperature in your environment affects the hormone melatonin. Melatonin is a sleep hormone. Cool temperatures can increase melatonin, and melatonin can cause your body to run cooler at night. Melatonin is also affected by light. When it’s dark out, melatonin increases and helps you fall asleep.

If you have sleep problems or you want to help improve your sleep quality, you may want to try adjusting your room temperature to 60-68 degrees Fahrenheit (15-20 degrees Celsius) at night.

A few things that can affect sleep:
• Memory foam mattresses can contain heat. You may want to get a different mattress or get a gel topper to help keep it cool.
• Fans can help keep it cool.
• Keeping your feet out of the covers may also help keep you cool.

Potential benefits of melatonin:
1. It can help you fall asleep quicker
2. Enhanced mood
3. Better blood sugars
4. Enhanced cognitive function
5. Enhanced immunity
6. Quality sleep
7. It may help you feel more rested

A few things that could affect melatonin:
• Darkness stimulates melatonin
• EMFs could negatively affect your sleep
• Cooler temperatures can increase melatonin
• Too much stress can inhibit melatonin
• A vitamin D deficiency can suppress melatonin production

1:15 What makes something credible?

14:05 The most important health information
14:19 Bulletproof your immune system (free course!)

Today, we’re going to talk about reliability and credibility when trying to find health information or weight loss information. How does someone really know when the information they’re getting is trusted, credible, and reliable?

What makes something credible? Is it the studies that back it up? Many people don’t read the actual study and rely on secondhand information. There can also be a lot of manipulation and bias in the area of research. Testimonials, especially with pictures or videos, can be credible. Reviews can be faked, but if one product has a lot of reviews, it may be more credible than one with fewer reviews.

Whatever is touted as the most reliable and credible information, especially if it’s mainstream, I typically look in the opposite direction. When you evaluate something, you have to look at the information yourself. You have to ask yourself if the information makes sense and differentiate fact and opinion.

Many people do a search online, and they pick whatever comes up first as the most credible or reliable source. But, relying on sources like the first few pages of Google to find weight loss information can be misleading.

For example, I actually googled “the best way to lose weight,” and I picked the first result that came up. Then, I ordered their weight loss book. Today, we’re going to go through and evaluate the information in this book.

I found this book to be very misleading. There were many things I disagreed with in the book. At one point, they basically say you should lose weight to improve your health. I believe it’s best to first improve your health so you can then lose weight.

The book we went through gives you a lot of information with some true information and some false information. But, they don’t give you the most important information. I believe the most important thing you can do is base your whole diet on keeping your insulin low.

In this video, we’re going to talk about depression—is depression really an illness? If so, in what part of the body is the problem located? And what objective test can show if there is something wrong with the body?

Someone is diagnosed with major depressive disease if they check off 5 or more of the following, but those 5 or more have to include #1 and #2:
1. Depressive mood
2. Decreased interest in pleasure
3. An increase or decrease in appetite or weight
4. Increased or decreased sleep
5. Fatigue
6. Feeling of worthlessness/inappropriate guilt
7. Decreased ability to concentrate
8. Agitation or retardation
9. Recurrent thoughts of death or suicide

Why are we not looking at other factors that may be more objective, such as:
• Poor diet
• Low vitamin D
• Low testosterone
• Hypothyroidism
• Low vitamin B1
• Not getting enough sleep
• Fatigue from Lyme disease, EBV, other viruses, or anemia
• Chronic pain and inflammation

Is depression really a disease? Let me know in the comments what you think.

There is a very interesting potential remedy that you could take at the first sign of a cold. You may start to feel something come on that could be a rhinovirus, coronavirus, influenza, or about 200 different viruses. But, what can you do?

Symptoms that could represent the first sign of a cold:
• Runny nose
• Coughing
• Sneezing
• Itchy or scratchy throat

A great potential remedy to take at the first sign of a cold is black elderberry. Black elderberry has been used for a long time and seems to be very effective.

The symptoms you might feel at the first sign of a cold may really be symptoms of inflammation. Black elderberry can be a powerful immune modulator. It can help regulate the immune system if it’s overreacting, and it may help bring inflammation down to a normal cycle. It could also help decrease the duration and intensity of the infection. If you take black elderberry early enough, you may potentially be able to stop the inflammation cycle from even occurring.

Other remedies for a cold:
• Natural food-based vitamin C (500mg)
• Zinc (50mg)
• Vitamin D (10,000 IUs)

Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:

Could you be going through manopause (male menopause)? Here are the symptoms and a few natural remedies.

Today we’re going to talk about manopause. People also call this male menopause or andropause. If you’re a male and you’re getting older, you may experience symptoms of low testosterone or late-onset hypogonadism.

Symptoms of male menopause:
• Mood swings (irritability, low tolerance to stress, anxiety, depression)
• Decreased muscle mass
• Lack of energy
• Man boobs (gynecomastia)
• Loss of sleep
• ED (erectile dysfunction)
• Low libido

The liver is very important in keeping testosterone levels normalized. There is a protein that binds with hormones, especially testosterone. High amounts of this protein can cause your testosterone to be low. Insulin resistance, a fatty liver, and cirrhosis can cause high amounts of this protein.

Potential remedies for andropause (male menopause):
1. The healthy keto diet and intermittent fasting
2. Cruciferous vegetables
3. Zinc (100 mg per day in a blend of other trace minerals)
4. Korean red ginseng
5. Choline (fix your liver)

A few more things you could do:
• Try to keep your stress as low as possible (counter stress with exercise like long walks)
• Ger more sleep (do less intense exercise like long walks if you’re not sleeping)
• Don’t snack on sugar or carbs (insulin will nullify testosterone)

It’s important to note that these natural remedies for manopause may not help unless you also fix your diet. High insulin can block your progress.

Taking testosterone can cause the gland that produces testosterone to shrink even more, causing you to become dependent on it. Over time, it may lose its effectiveness.

Statins can actually lower testosterone. If you’re on a statin for high cholesterol, you may want to give keto and intermittent fasting a try.

Clogged arteries? Here are the first 5 things you should do to clean up your diet.

Timestamps
0:00 What causes clogged arteries?
1:14 Best foods to clean out your arteries
4:30 Vitamin D and arterial health
5:39 How to bullet-proof your immune system course

In this video, we’re going to talk about the best foods to clean out your arteries.

The most inner part of your arteries is called the endothelial layer. If there is a dysfunction with this layer, you can develop inflammation. In turn, this inflammation can cause scarring, calcium deposits, and cholesterol deposits to build up.

A CAC (coronary artery calcification) test is the absolute best way to detect the state of your arteries. Get one of these tests and, if you have signs of build-up, clean up your diet with the tips below. Have a CAC test every few months until the problem is resolved.

Here are the best things you can do to clean out your arteries:

1. Lower your carbohydrates and do intermittent fasting to improve your insulin levels. High insulin causes a massive amount of inflammation throughout your body, which can contribute to clogged arteries and clots. High insulin can also cause AGEs (advanced glycated end products), which is a situation where the proteins inside your arteries become damaged. The first thing you need to do is normalize your insulin levels.

2. Consume foods rich in vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 lowers the amount of calcium in your blood and transports it to your bones. If you take vitamin D3, make sure you take it with vitamin K2. Natto, liver, eggs, butter, grass-fed beef, cheese, and sauerkraut are great sources of vitamin K2.

3. Take tocotrienols. Tocotrienols are a form of vitamin E, which is 50X more effective than tocopherols. This is a powerful antioxidant that can help reduce inflammation and promote a healthy cardiovascular system.

4. Increase omega-3 fatty acids, and lower omega-6 fatty acids. Cut the soy oil, corn oil, cottonseed oil, and other vegetable oils out of your diet. Instead, replace them with healthy fats, including fatty fish (such as salmon), cod liver oil, walnuts, and grass-fed meats. A good omega-3 to omega-6 ratio helps supports cardiovascular health.

5. Increase your potassium. Potassium helps keep your arteries soft and not hardened. 7-10 cups of vegetables a day are vital to maintaining healthy potassium levels.

Pomegranate is a great remedy for high blood pressure.

Additionally, vitamin D is important for lowering your inflammation. Get plenty of sunlight or take a vitamin D3 supplement.

Potential remedies for shingles:
1. 50,000 IUs of vitamin D3
2. 200mg of zinc
3. 1000mg 3x a day of vitamin C (you can do a non-GMO synthetic version with 500mg of a food-based vitamin C)
4. 600mg of L-lysine (don’t take with arginine and avoid nuts and seeds)
5. 3mg of melatonin

There is also a unique technique you can try for shingles. You can use acupressure on the opposite side (the mirror image) from where you’re feeling pain. For example, let’s say you have pain that radiates from your spine to the left side of your back. You would want to press and massage on the opposite side. You may need to have someone help you with this. This may help relieve the side that’s in pain. You can do this several times a day for relief.

Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:

Do you get hungry right after you eat something like rice or pasta? This is why carbs can make you hungry.

Timestamps
0:00 Why do carbs make people hungry
0:10 Why carbs make you hungry reason #1
0:52 Why carbs make you hungry reason #2
2:37 How to stimulate the appetite
4:47 How to satisfy hunger
7:05 Fixing insulin resistance
7:45 Bulletproof your immune system (free course!)

There are two reasons why carbs make people hungry.

1. Low blood sugar levels can cause you to be hungry.
• When you consume carbs, you spike insulin. Insulin’s job is to lower glucose. When your glucose is low in the blood because you just spiked insulin, this is when you’re going to crave carbs. You’re also going to be more hungry.

2. Insulin triggers hunger
• The more insulin you have, the more hungry you’re going to be. A condition called insulin resistance can be caused by consuming carbs for many years to the point where your body is compensating by producing a lot more insulin. The higher the food’s glycemic index, the faster the insulin will spike, and the lower the blood sugars will drop. High carb foods can make you hungry not long after you consume them. This is because it spiked insulin and lowered your blood sugars. But, something like a salad won’t cause a massive spike in insulin and won’t make you hungry.

Refined carbs, low-fat protein, and frequent eating will stimulate the appetite.

How to satisfy hunger:
• Consume more fatty foods
• Lower your carbs
• Consume nutrient-dense foods
• Fiber will help buffer the insulin response
• Make sure you have enough bile by supporting the gallbladder and liver
• Fasting

Following the above list may also help you fix insulin resistance. The more you fix insulin resistance, the lower the insulin will go, the faster the metabolism is going to be, and the more satisfied you will be.

0:47 What to know about MCT oil
1:09 Can MCT oil help you burn more fat?
1:53 Bulletproof your immune system (free course!)

Today we’re going to talk about MCT oil and fat burning. Can MCT oil help you burn more fat? MCT stands for medium-chain triglycerides. MCT is a type of fat that can come from various things like coconuts, palm oil, and butter. But, you can also get MCT oil, which is just concentrated MCTs.

MCT oil is unique in that it bypasses the gallbladder, bile, and enzymes. It gets absorbed in the small intestine into the lymphatic system and is then transported to the liver, where it’s turned into ketones.

A few important things to know about MCT oil:
• It’s not normally stored as fat
• It’s used as energy
• It may suppress fat accumulation
• It could increase your metabolism compared to other fats
• It may not cause a fatty liver

MCT oil will not directly help you burn more fat. But, it will indirectly help you burn more fat. MCT oil can help you fast for longer. Being able to fast for longer may help keep your insulin low and help you lose weight. In addition, MCT oil can help suppress hunger.

In this video, I’m going to explain how walking backwards could potentially help rid knee pain and back pain. This is also called retro-walking.

When you walk, you develop certain muscles. Doing a lot of walking or running can actually throw your body out of balance.

When you do reverse walking, you can strengthen your:
• Gluts
• Hamstrings
• The front part of the lower leg
• Some of the core muscles

Backwards walking can also activate different parts of the brain and neurology.

Walking backwards may help with:
1. Knee pain
2. Low back pain
3. Posture
4. Coordination

Check with your doctor before you try this. Start out really slow on a flat surface. You may even want to start on a treadmill, so you can hold yourself up and go slow.

In this video, we’re going to talk about COVID-19, age, and it’s severity. This topic really boils down to a person’s immune system and additional chronic diseases that a person has.

People in the 65+ age category with a chronic disease or weak immune system:
• COVID could be considered deadly to people in this category. 95% of people over the age of 65 have a chronic health problem.

People in the 50-65 age category with a chronic disease or weak immune system:
• COVID-19 is potentially deadly. 60% of people in this age bracket have a chronic disease.

People in the 40-50 age category with a chronic disease or weak immune system:
• COVID-19 can have serious complications but is not deadly.

People in the 25-40 age category:
• COVID-19 can cause mild flu symptoms for 4-5 days and is not deadly.

People in the 20-25 age category:
• COVID-19 can cause common cold symptoms and is not deadly.

People in the 10-20 age category:
• COVID-19 almost never causes any symptoms and is not deadly. A person may have some diarrhea.

People under 10 years old:
• It seems 99% of people in this age bracket can’t have COVID and can’t infect others.

What we really may want to focus on is trying to eliminate the chronic disease. If you have a chronic disease, you may want to get on the healthy keto diet and do intermittent fasting.

You may also want to check out my immune course. This is a free course where I share a lot of information on how to bullet-proof your immune system.

In this video, we’re going to talk about 7 natural ways to boost your testosterone. Take a look.

1. Increase your cholesterol intake – Do not go on a low-fat diet! Cholesterol is a precursor to testosterone.

2. Moderate protein – High amounts of protein can cause insulin to spike, which can disrupt a healthy hormone balance. 6-8 oz of meat per meal should be plenty.

3. Lower your carbs – Carbohydrates boost your insulin levels, which can lower your T level. A low-carb diet such as keto is ideal for boosting your testosterone naturally. Add intermittent fasting for an extra boost.

4. Exercise – High-intensity interval training (HIIT) will help stimulate testosterone.

5. Sleep – Getting enough sleep is vital to normal and healthy hormone levels. Poor quality and duration of sleep can cause an increase in cortisol, which can throw off your testosterone level. Long walks are great for getting better sleep and lowering cortisol.

6. Lower your estrogen – Testosterone and estrogen oppose each other. If you have high estrogen, you will have lower testosterone. Avoid soy and non-organic products.

7. Supplements – Zinc, Korean red ginseng, L-arginine, and D-aspartic acid are great supplements for supporting healthy testosterone levels.

The last couple of things I want to mention is that a fatty liver, high iron levels, and statin drugs may also cause low testosterone levels. Make sure you talk with your doctor about these potential problems.

Timestamps

0:09 What to know about this so-called new COVID-19 strain
1:53 How to bulletproof your immune system (free course!)

Is it possible that there’s a new strain of COVID that’s very deadly? There are three important things you need to know.

1. There is not a new strain of COVID. There is a new variant. A variant is not the same as a strain. A new strain has almost a different structure. A variant involves very minor changes. If a virus changes slightly, it doesn’t necessarily change in function. I have not seen any evidence that this new variant is more pathogenic than the original variant.

2. COVID-19 is genetically stable. COVID-19 mutates even slower than the influenza virus.

3. Why do we see spikes of infection in different countries right now? It seems the weather is a big factor. When it’s winter, and it’s colder, people cough and sneeze more, allowing the virus to spread easier. People are also getting lower amounts of vitamin D. Vitamin D is intimately involved in the immune system. People who are deficient in vitamin D may be more susceptible to becoming sick.

Green tea has a lot of antioxidants and phytonutrients to help get rid of the oxidation and free radical damage from exercise. This can help with recovery. Green tea can also increase fat oxidation and promote better performance.

4. Probiotics
Probiotics may help with recovery. Probiotics can also help decrease the risk of getting an infection from exercising too much.

5. Potassium
If you’re deficient in potassium, you could have problems with cramping and muscle fatigue. It’s also very important for the cardiovascular system and to help keep the arteries flexible and soft.

6. Sodium
Without sodium, your muscles can get weak. I believe the best source of sodium is Himalayan sea salt.

7. Beta-alanine
This can help decrease lactic acid, which can fatigue the muscles. It can decrease acidity, which can cause tiredness. It can also increase energy.

8. Vitamin D
Vitamin D is a powerful anti-inflammatory, and it may have a direct effect on exercise performance. It’s also vital for the cardiovascular part of the body.

9. Vitamin B1
Without enough vitamin B1, you’re not going to be burning your fuel that well. This could cause you to be tired.

3. Magnesium can lower adrenaline (this may help you sleep better)
4. Magnesium can increase GABA (a neurotransmitter involved in relaxation, feeling calm, and sleep)
5. Magnesium can increase melatonin (melatonin can help promote better sleep)
6. Magnesium can increase the parasympathetic nervous system (it can help promote calm)
7. Magnesium can decrease the sympathetic nervous system (the sympathetic nervous system can keep you from sleeping)

Magnesium and Vitamin D: Interesting Relationship

In this video, we’re going to talk about a very important relationship between magnesium and vitamin D.

You need magnesium to fully absorb vitamin D. Magnesium assists in the activation of vitamin D in the liver and kidneys.

This means that if you’re magnesium deficient, you can easily become vitamin D deficient, which can lead to skeletal problems, cardiovascular problems, mood issues, inflammation, and metabolic syndrome.

Just as magnesium is vital for vitamin D activation, vitamin D is essential for stimulating the absorption of magnesium. These two nutrients work synergistically to support a healthy body.

This doesn’t mean that you have to take magnesium and vitamin D at the same time. Your body can store magnesium and vitamin D for when you need them. It’s essential to keep your overall magnesium and vitamin D levels normal.
