3:45 How to bulletproof your immune system (free course)

In this video, we’re going to talk about which food is highest in calcium.

Cheese is the food highest in calcium. In particular, parmesan cheese is the cheese highest in calcium.

You can also get calcium from leafy greens, nuts, and seeds.

If you have a prostate problem, high estrogen, or fibroids, you want to avoid cheese. This is because too much cheese can swell the prostate, cause difficulty urinating, and cause frequent trips to the bathroom at night.

The benefits of calcium include:
• Bone health
• Preventing muscle cramps
• Preventing blood clotting
• Supporting your cellular membranes

Without calcium, you can develop holes in your cell membranes and cause fragility. Calcium regulates the resealing mechanism in the cell membrane.

The problem is, if you have chronic inflammation, calcium can build up in your body’s tissues, including your joints, arteries, brain, and eyes.

When calcium builds up in certain areas in the body, it virtually always has to do with chronic inflammation, which overstimulates the healing mechanism that occurs.

It’s vital to address the inflammation in your body to avoid calcium build-up.

The Ketogenic Diet Started in the 1800s

2:52 Bulletproof your immune system *free course!

Today, I want to cover when the ketogenic diet started.

— In 500 B.C., epilepsy was treated (likely unknowingly) with ketones.

— In the late 1800s, a man named William Banting discovered that restricting carbohydrates could help you lose weight. He wrote a book in which he talked about restricting bread, sugar, and potatoes and eating meat, fish, vegetables, mutton, and kidneys. However, he did consume small amounts of biscuits, toast, fruit, and alcohol.

— In the 1920s, the ketogenic diet was used for epilepsy.

— In 1922, Dr. Fredrick Banting used insulin for diabetes. This allowed diabetics to control their insulin. Before insulin was used for diabetics, a low-carb diet was typically used. It was called the Allen diet, and it was created by Dr. Fredrick Allen. This diet restricted carbohydrates and put certain patients on a very restricted calorie diet.

— The introduction of insulin and diabetes medications lead to the low-carb diet becoming almost obsolete.

— Dr. Atkins promoted a low-carb diet.

— The low-carb diet is now the most popular diet in existence, helping millions of people.

In this video, we’re going to talk about what to do if you’re tired but can’t sleep.

Have you ever felt exhausted, but you can’t seem to fall asleep? If so, you’re in the right place. Try these 7 tips for falling asleep easier when you’re tired:

1. No water past 7 pm – Consuming water before bed can cause you to feel like you have to use the restroom, especially if you have insulin resistance or pre-diabetes.

2. Limit caffeine intake – One 8oz cup of coffee a day should be your limit. Excess caffeine can make it difficult to fall asleep.

3. Limit protein – Too much protein can act as a stimulant. Keep your protein consumption to 3 to 8 oz per meal.

4. Use up body energy – Having too much energy before bed can make it difficult to fall asleep. Try using up your energy by going on long walks, exercising, and doing physical work.

5. Catch the first circadian wave – Your first circadian wave is typically around 9:30 pm. Try to catch this wave to make falling to sleep easier.

6. Take a sleep aid before bed – Natural sleep aids can help you get to sleep faster when it comes time for bed. Calcium lactate is a great natural supplement that can help with sleep.

7. Keep your room on the colder side – A warm body temperate may keep you up at night. People tend to sleep better in a slightly cool environment.

Today we’re going to talk about fasting and belly fat. If you have the correct pattern of intermittent fasting, you can tap into your visceral (belly) fat.

A recent study done on mice indicated that intermittent fasting could slow down weight loss and create a resistance to losing weight.

This conflicts with other studies that show that intermittent fasting can help with weight loss. One study indicates that a person can lose their visceral fat by 4-7% by doing one meal a day.

When we have conflicting information, it’s time to dig deeper. With the first study, they did every other day fasting. This is where you would fast for one day, go back to your regular eating plan the next day, then fast again the day after that, and so on. They were also not doing the keto diet when they ate their meals.

This is a lot different than what I talk about, where you fast for a period of hours, then go on keto, and then fast for a period of hours, and so on. The key is staying on keto.

Two types of fasting that will slow your weight loss:
1. Every other day fasting
2. The 5:2 fasting pattern (5 days you eat what you want and for 2 days you eat 500 calories)

If you go on and off keto, it can cause the body to adapt and protect its fuel source, which is stored as body fat. If you want to correct your metabolism and target belly fat, the best way to do it is with a combination of keto and intermittent fasting.

Today we’re going to talk about how to measure the pH of your blood. Are you too acid or too alkaline? It’s possible to try to figure this out by looking at your symptoms. There is also a difficult test that can be performed. However, your bicarbonates are another indicator that you can look at to get a rough idea of what your pH is.

Bicarbonates are alkaline substances that help to buffer the pH and keep it at a certain level. You can measure bicarbonates by getting a basic metabolic panel or a comprehensive metabolic panel.

Conditions that could cause high bicarbonates:
• Severe prolonged vomiting or diarrhea
• COPD
• Cushing’s syndrome

High bicarbonates are an indication that your body may be too alkaline, and you need to acidify it. You can do this by taking apple cider vinegar or betaine hydrochloride, as well as correcting the root cause.

Conditions that could cause low bicarbonates:
• Addison’s disease
• Chronic diarrhea
• Diabetic ketoacidosis
• Kidney disease
• Aspirin overdose

Consultants are available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 10 pm EST. Saturday & Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm EST. USA Only.

If you have hypothyroidism, you may want to take cod liver oil. Here’s why.

The thyroid needs three main nutrients:
1. Vitamin A
2. Iodine
3. Selenium

Iodine makes up the thyroid molecule. When we talk about T4 or T3, we’re talking about the number of iodine molecules. Selenium is involved in an enzyme that allows the conversion from T4 to T3 (the active form of the thyroid hormone).

Vitamin A is involved in another hormone called thyroid-stimulating hormone, which is created from the pituitary and sent down to the thyroid. One way they diagnose a hypothyroid case is if the thyroid-stimulating hormone has increased. If you have a vitamin A deficiency, you likely have an increase in thyroid-stimulating hormone. This could increase the size of the thyroid and decrease the absorption of iodine.

I believe the best source of the active form of vitamin A (retinol) is cod liver oil.

Other foods high in vitamin A are:
• Liver
• Butter
• Egg
• Fatty fish
• Cheese

In this video, we’re going to talk about constipation and fiber.

Constipation is not just a symptom of a lack of fiber. Constipation is the result of incomplete digestion anywhere in the digestion tract.

This could be due to a lack of:
• Stomach acid – Which breaks down protein
• Bile – Which breaks down fats
• Enzymes – Which breaks down all nutrients
• Gut microbes – Which breaks down fiber and other nutrients

If you have constipation, it could be that you need more stomach acidity, bile, enzymes, or probiotics.

16% of Americans have constipation, and 30% of adults over 60 have constipation.

It’s important to look at the entire digestive process if you have constipation. The answer usually isn’t as simple as adding more fiber. You have to look at your digestion as a whole.

Constipation causes and solutions:
• Antibiotics – Probiotics
• Antacids – Re-acidify the stomach with ACV or betaine hydrochloride
• Medications – Talk with your doctor about alternatives
• Processed foods – Consume raw foods with more enzymes
• Low fiber – More vegetables
• Low electrolytes – More vegetables
• High carbs – Keto and benfotiamine
• Overeating – Intermittent fasting
• Stress – Lower your stress levels with nutrition and relaxation

In general, these things are great for supporting digestion:
• Fermented foods
• Vegetables
• Increasing fat intake
• Lower your carbs
• Intermittent fasting

Let’s talk about botox—is it safe? Botox is an injection of a deadly bacteria called botulinum. This bacteria is a neurotoxin. In fact, it’s one of the most poisonous toxins known. Just 1 gram of this stuff could kill 1 million people.

Botox blocks the nerves that go to the muscle that’s injected. You’re no longer going to contract that muscle.

Botox is considered safe, but from 1989-2003 the FDA reported:
• 1437 adverse events
• 217 serious effects
• 28 deaths

Botox is given in very small amounts in certain parts of the body. You would want to make sure that the person injecting it is extremely competent with a lot of experience.

Fake Wasabi vs. Real Wasabi

Let’s talk about wasabi. True wasabi is very hard to grow and is very expensive. Most wasabi available is fake. 95% of the wasabi sold at sushi restaurants is made from other ingredients—not wasabi. They use either green food color or spinach juice to give it its green color.

To get true wasabi, you would have to go to Japan or go to a very specialized restaurant that serves it. If you buy wasabi from the store, make sure you read the ingredients.

At restaurants where wasabi is served, it’s served as a root, and they give you a grater so you can grate it at the table. The optimum time for flavor is about 1 minute.

Wasabi has various phytonutrients that, when combined, either by grating, shredding, or crushing the plant, stimulate a very special phytonutrient. This phytonutrient is 3,000 times more concentrated in wasabi than cabbage and may have anti-cancer effects.

Potential health benefits of wasabi:
• It may have anti-cancer effects
• It has potent antimicrobial properties
• It can support the cardiovascular system
• It can support the respiratory system
• It has anti-inflammatory effects
• It’s a powerful antioxidant
• It can help thin mucus

Vitamin D Lowers Cancer Risk UNLESS You Are Obese

3:44 How to bulletproof your immune system

In this video, we’re going to talk about why vitamin D lowers your cancer risk—unless you are obese.

Twenty-five thousand people were a part of a study on vitamin D that spanned over five years. Each participant was given 2000 IUs of vitamin D daily.

This study showed that having healthy levels of vitamin D can lower your risk of cancer by 20%. However, this was only for those who were not obese.

The question is, why doesn’t vitamin D have the potential to decrease the risk of cancer for those who are obese?

The answer has to do with vitamin D resistance. The more obese you are, the more resistance you have to vitamin D. This is also connected to insulin resistance.

Vitamin D has a hard time working in the body if you are overweight. So you often need much more of it to produce significant results.

This is also why overweight people who get plenty of sunlight are often still deficient in vitamin D.

Vitamin D has powerful anti-inflammatory properties. When you don’t have enough vitamin D, you can have an overload of inflammation, which can significantly increase your risk of cancer.

This may be why obesity is linked to chronic low-grade inflammation and systemic dysfunction of the natural killer (NK) cells.

How much vitamin D is ideal? Typically between 10,000-40,000 IUs of vitamin D3 daily can help support normal vitamin D levels.

Additionally, Healthy Keto and intermittent fasting can help you lose weight and lower your requirement for vitamin D.

In this video, I’m going to cover the benefits of bee sting therapy. A bee sting can be very painful, so why would anyone ever want to get any benefit from the chemical in a bee sting?

In large amounts, bee stings are very toxic, irritating, and painful to the body. But, in very small amounts, it may have potential benefits.

I believe it’s similar to when you get a small dose of something and your body then responds by creating stress and adapts, strengthening your immune system.

The isolated compound in the venom that may have benefits is called melittin.

Potential benefits of bee sting therapy:
• It can shift and then strengthen parts of the immune system that normally cause an allergy
• It has anti-microbial properties
• It’s anti-inflammatory (in low-doses)
• It improves T regulatory cells (reduces inflammation)

Bee sting therapy may be beneficial for:
• Arthritis
• Skin disorders
• Bee allergies
• Chronic pain
• Parkinson’s
• M.S.

Consultants are available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 10 pm EST. Saturday & Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm EST. USA Only.

In this video, we’re going to talk about the following theory: the reason that you’re not losing weight is that you’re not eating enough.

So the solution is to just eat more food, right?

This just doesn’t make any sense. How could adding more food cause you to lose calories?

What you do want to do to support healthy weight loss is to increase your nutrients. Vitamins, minerals, and other vital nutrients can help support a healthy body and promote weight loss.

The best way to lose weight is to cut out your carbohydrates and eat less frequently. This doesn’t mean you need to lower your calories—just avoid any calories from carbohydrates and eat less often.

What this does is decreases insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is the cause of a slow metabolism.

If you can’t seem to lose weight, this is a sign of insulin resistance. Chances are, you are eating way too many carbohydrates.

Keep in mind that lowering your calories is not a good idea either. Lowering your calories can deplete the body of nutrients and low down your metabolism further. Avoid low-calorie diets!

In summary, Healthy Keto and intermittent fasting are the best ways to lose weight and support a healthy body.

Today we’re going to cover why, in some cases, weight loss causes gallstones. The fat cell is composed of triglycerides and cholesterol. When a person starts losing weight, the cholesterol is going to come out. This is why some people have higher cholesterol when they first start keto.

But, bile salts help control cholesterol, especially excess cholesterol. A lack of bile can actually cause a gallstone. High insulin and a low-fat diet could also increase the risk for gallstones because they can contribute to a bile deficiency.

Action steps to help minimize the risk of gallstones:
• Go on a low-carb diet
• Take purified bile salts

Consultants are available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 10 pm EST. Saturday & Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm EST. USA Only.

Let’s talk about weight loss on keto. Is losing 5 pounds per month normal? It depends. Some people would say that it’s not normal and that you should be losing a lot more.

When you evaluate anything, you’re comparing what’s normal and what’s going on with you. So, it’s very important for you to know what is normal and what’s not.

Someone with a healthy fast metabolism could lose about two pounds of fat per week. If a person is fasting for a week, they might lose about 3.5 pounds.

But, you might have a slow metabolism, which means you might only lose one pound per week. Normal weight loss for someone with a slow metabolism is half a pound to one pound of fat per week. So, four pounds of fat loss per month isn’t bad for someone with a slow metabolism.

It’s important to keep in mind that it only takes a tiny amount of carbohydrates to block fat burning for two to three days. There are different factors like this to look at, so you can know what normal actually is and so you don’t get frustrated and give up when it’s actually working.

A few things that can affect weight loss:
• Alcohol
• Carbs
• Poor sleep
• Stress

There are also things you can do to help improve your weight loss. Fasting is a big one. If you’re at two meals a day, you can try one meal a day. If you’re at one meal a day and you’re not hungry, you could try eating once every other day. Fasting may also have a lot of health benefits that go beyond weight loss.
