Can you eat celery and nut butter on keto? Absolutely, yes! Celery and nut butter can be a good alternative to salad for some people. It’s hard for some people to consume the amount of salad that they need, but eating celery with peanut butter is easier.

The peanut butter or nut butter should be organic and shouldn’t have any added sugar. There also shouldn’t be any extra oils in the peanut butter other than peanut oil. If you do choose celery with peanut butter instead of salad, you may want to consume a good amount of it.

Celery is low carb, but high fiber. Fiber is a carb, but it doesn’t affect your blood sugar.

A few celery nutrition facts:
• Starch—0
• Potassium (per cup of celery)—262mg
• Sodium (per cup of celery)— 80mg

A few benefits of celery with nut butter:

4:16 Need keto consulting?

In this video, we’re going to talk about how a hysterectomy can affect your body shape. Now, this is primarily for women who are considering a hysterectomy—you may want to think twice.

Here’s the problem: you have all kinds of ligaments that are attached to your torso, lower ribs, lower back, and pelvis that are cut. These ligaments are opposing your abdominal muscles.

When you lose this balance, it can create major weaknesses within your abdominal muscles. In turn, your stomach can collapse and fall forward, giving you the appearance of being fat.

A hysterectomy can also give you low back pain because it alters the curvature of your back. You may also experience weakness in your core.

There are many other side effects that you may experience after a hysterectomy, including:
• Low libido
• Bladder issues
• Bowel issues
• Increased risk of cardiovascular disease
• Increased risk of clots
• Depression
• Weight gain (on average, 25 lbs)
• Pain

Some people experience no symptoms at all. So before you make a decision, check with your doctor and talk about the risks.

The two top reasons for getting a hysterectomy is if you have endometriosis or fibroids.

Both of these conditions occur if you are estrogen dominant. This means that you’ll want to avoid estrogen and things that mimic estrogen.

Avoid GMO cotton, dairy, soy, and other GMO foods. You can try sea kelp and cruciferous vegetables. All of your foods should be organic.

If you’ve already had a hysterectomy, it’s a good idea to be on a keto and intermittent fasting plan. Keto and fasting will help induce autophagy, lower inflammation, and support a healthy metabolism.

In this video, I’m going to talk about what you can do to protect your brain from chronic stress.

Stress is very bad for the brain. Stress causes brain shrinkage or atrophy—especially in the hippocampus. In turn, you’re more susceptible to cognitive and memory issues. You often see this with Alzheimer’s disease patients.

There are only two parts of the brain that have the capacity to regenerate. The hippocampus is one of them, and the olfactory bulb is the other.

The hippocampus is believed to involve your short-term memory. It also can affect your ability to learn and navigate.

It just so happens that 80% of Alzheimer’s disease patients also have type 2 diabetes symptoms. It’s not just stress that shrinks the brain, but also high sugar and carb consumption.

What can you do to protect your brain from stress? Do these 6 things:
1. Take vitamin B1 regularly (nutritional yeast)
2. Get plenty of DHA/EPA (omega-3 fatty acids)
3. Take zinc
4. Do intermittent fasting
5. Do healthy keto
6. Exercise

2:35 What you could do

Today, we’re going to talk about statins and statin side effects. Statins work by blocking a certain enzyme that blocks your production of cholesterol. Your liver cells make a good amount of cholesterol in your body. The cholesterol in your body is not just coming from the diet. It’s also coming from your own cells.

Cholesterol is a precursor for making bile salts. Bile salts are involved in digesting fats and absorbing fat-soluble vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids. If you don’t have enough bile salts, your risk for gallstones goes up as well as the risk of pancreatitis.

A big side effect of statins is myopathy. This is a general term for muscle disease. Another side effect is high levels of creatine kinase, which can indicate muscle wasting. Statins can also deplete CoQ10, which is an enzyme involved in giving your muscles energy.

If you’re deficient in CoQ10, you could experience:
• Muscle wasting
• Muscle weakness
• Lower back pain
• Heart failure
• And more…

Taking CoQ10 while taking statins could help diminish the symptoms of myopathy.

Bile Sludge is a Pre-Gallstone Condition

3:14 An important function of bile
3:33 What you could do for bile sludge

In this video, I want to explain a little bit about bile sludge. Bile sludge is a pre-gallstone state. Gallstones develop over a period of time from sludge. The sludge is a concentration of cholesterol without the thinning agent (bile).

In bile salts, there are also cholesterol crystals, calcium salts, bilirubin, sodium chloride, and mucin. When there is more cholesterol and not enough bile salts, you can start developing sludge, which can then turn into a stone. This often happens in pregnant women. If someone has a history of antibiotics or they had gastric bypass, they may be at a higher risk as well.

Bile sludge can get jammed up and stuck in the ducts, causing pressure, pain, inflammation, and other serious issues. Bile salts are detergents, and if they’re in the wrong place, this can create major irritation and side effects. One of the symptoms is pain in the right upper quadrant.

One important function of bile is the elimination of things, such as:
• Drugs
• Xenobiotics
• Toxins
• Heavy metals
• Fat-soluble poisons

What you could do if you have bile sludge:
• Start taking purified bile salts on an empty stomach
• Implement the correct diet (healthy keto)

Today I want to cover a few key points about yearly checkups.

If you have a pre-existing problem with the thyroid, for example, or maybe you have an autoimmune disease, you’re probably going to be doing advanced thyroid testing or liver testing. If you have diabetes, you might have the A1C test.

If you’re a prediabetic or a diabetic, you may want to get the HOMA-IR test. HOMA-IR is a test to determine if you have insulin resistance or not. Ideally, it would be great to get the HOMA-IR test before you start keto to see where you’re at, and then get the same test afterward to see your improvement. But, if you’ve already started keto and intermittent fasting and you’re doing great, you don’t really need to get the HOMA-IR test.

A few tests you may want to consider getting at your yearly checkup:
1. Omega 3/6 ratio (you can do this at home with a kit)
2. CBC (complete blood count)
3. Basic metabolic panel
4. CAC (coronary artery calcium scoring)
5. Vitamin D test

If you have high cholesterol, a good test to get may be the advanced lipid test. This is where they look at the size of the particles, and they look deeper at the types of lipoproteins that you have.

Today we’re going to talk about celery and what it can do for you. There are certain phytonutrients in celery. But, keep in mind, some of these phytonutrients are in the fiber part of the celery. This means that if you’re juicing the celery, you might not get enough of the phytonutrients that are in the fiber part. Consuming the whole celery may be more beneficial than just the juice. Celery seed extract may also be very beneficial.

Celery has a phytonutrient that can help lower uric acid. It can also help alkalize the body. Another phytonutrient in celery is called apigenin, which may be anti-cancer.

Benefits of celery:
1. It may help people with high blood pressure
2. It may help with insomnia
3. It may help with fluid retention
4. It may help with joint inflammation
5. It may help with UTIs (urinary tract infections)

Many people don’t understand just how vitally important bile is. Check this out.

In this video, we’re going to talk about bile salts, and I want to explain why 95% of your bile salts are recycled. There is this idea that the gallbladder is not needed. Bile is also often misunderstood, underrated, and ignored. I believe the gallbladder is very necessary. It concentrates bile so the bile can create the effects it needs to.

Your body recycles bile because it is vitally necessary and important. The body recycles bile 6-10 times per day. Your liver makes bile (primary bile salts), and your microbiome also makes bile (secondary bile salts).

Six important things bile does:
1. It helps you absorb fats
2. It helps you absorb fat-soluble nutrients
3. It can help prevent SIBO
4. It helps regulate cholesterol
5. It can help rid toxins and poisons
6. It can help with the immune system

If you don’t have enough bile or it’s not being recycled, here are a few things that can happen:
1. High cholesterol
2. Gallstone formation or sludge (this can cause pain and even pancreatitis)
3. Low vitamin A, D, E, K, and K2
4. Low omega-3 fatty acids
5. You’re not satisfied after meals
6. SIBO
7. Constipation
8. Hypothyroidism
9. Toxic liver

3:37 Need keto consulting?

In this video, we’re going to talk about why vitamin E can inhibit scar tissue or fibrosis.

Fibrosis can take place in the lung, joints, heart, arteries, liver, and brain.

Fibrosis is pathological wound healing. Connective tissue replaces functional tissue. In turn, the tissue there doesn’t function normally because it’s being replaced by scar tissue.

Tocotrienols are the best form of vitamin E—it’s 50-90x stronger than tocopherols. Tocotrienols inhibit the collateral damage that comes from white blood cells trying to heal the tissue.

The immune system is involved in wound healing. In the process, it causes oxidation and free radicles that cause excessive damage. Tocotrienols counteract this effect.

If you have an inflammatory condition or fibrosis, try using vitamin E. It may not help reverse previous damage, but it can help prevent further damage related to scar tissue.

300 mg of vitamin E per day is ideal for fibrosis. You may benefit from more if you have a significant amount of inflammation. Remember that tocotrienols are the best forms to use.

In this video, we’re going to talk about the pancreas and the role of insulin in diabetes.

The pancreas regulates blood glucose levels by secreting insulin. This hormone is produced in the regions of the pancreas known as islets of Langerhans, which is populated mostly with beta cells.

Once released from the beta cells, insulin assists glucose entry into different cells, such as the skeletal muscle cells. Their membranes contain insulin receptors that help the cells absorb glucose for energy.

Over time, an increase in carbohydrate intake results in excess levels of insulin in the blood—a condition known as hyperinsulinemia—as a protective mechanism from this. e

Excess cells will then start resisting insulin binding to their receptors. In turn, this will inhibit the delivery of glucose in the cell—a condition known as insulin resistance.

Insulin will turn glucose into fat to deal with high glucose levels, which leads to obesity. This leads to even higher levels of insulin over time.

The beta cells get exhausted and reduce the output of insulin. This imbalance between the high blood glucose, the resistance of insulin, and lower insulin output lead to a variety of health issues.

Over time, the number and volume of eyelids are reduced, less insulin is released, and blood sugars now rise too much. This situation becomes type 2 diabetes.

What Does Pale-Colored Stool Mean?

Talk to a Dr. Berg Keto Consultant today and get the help you need on your journey. Call 1-540-299-1556 with your questions about Keto, Intermittent Fasting or the use of Dr. Berg products. Consultants are available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 8 pm Est. USA Only.

Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:

What causes pale-colored stool, and what does it mean? Check this out.

Timestamps
0:00 Pale-colored stool
0:26 Stool color and meaning
2:18 What causes pale-colored stool
4:05 What you could do

Today I want to explain what causes pale-colored stool and what it means.

There is a chain reaction in the body that occurs when your blood cells break down. Your body recycles old or damaged red blood cells. The hemoglobin turns into heme, which then turns into biliverdin. Biliverdin is green. Then, there is a substance called bilirubin, which is yellow. Bilirubin is what makes your urine yellow, and in certain situations, can turn the skin and eyes yellow. Bacteria helps oxidize bilirubin and turns it brown. Your stool should normally be brown from the bacterial oxidation of bilirubin.

In some situations, the hemoglobin breakdown chain-reaction doesn’t occur from the liver to the small intestine—it gets blocked because of maybe a gallstone or sludge. This blockage can cause the absence of pigment in the stool, making it pale-colored. So, pale-colored stool could mean you have a blockage in the bile ducts, or your liver isn’t producing bile. There can be a deeper problem, though, that usually has to do with the person’s diet.

What you could do if you have pale-colored stool:
• Take purified bile salts
• Fix your diet (healthy keto and intermittent fasting)

Today we’re going to discuss the best foods for dry eyes. The glands that produce tears and the ducts that the tears drain through are controlled by vitamin A. A vitamin A deficiency can cause the inner lining of the ducts and the glands to get thicker and rougher. The production of tears or fluids can also diminish.

Top symptoms of a vitamin A deficiency:
1. Night blindness
2. Blurred vision
3. Dry eyes

Taking a vitamin A supplement may not be the best solution in this situation. Instead, you could try getting the vitamin A you need from food.

The best foods for dry eyes:
1. Cod liver oil
2. Liver
3. Fatty fish
4. Butter
5. Cheese
6. Egg yolk
7. Beef

How to Grow Your Muscles

Wondering how to grow your muscles on keto? Check out this very interesting data from Dorian Yates (6 time Mr. Olympia winner).

ADDITIONAL DATA:

https://ift.tt/3iwpst7.

Timestamps
0:00 Can you grow your muscles when doing keto and IF?
0:30 Keto and intermittent fasting
2:42 Dorian Yates (6 time Mr. Olympia winner) on muscle growth

Today I want to talk about how to grow your muscles while doing keto and intermittent fasting. If you’re doing keto and intermittent fasting, but you’re not exercising—you’re not going to grow your muscles. The most important stimulus to grow muscle is the intensity of the exercise you do.

When you do intermittent fasting and are fully adapted to ketosis, you will have higher levels of human growth hormone. Human growth hormone causes the growth of muscle and prevents the loss of muscle. But, if you’re eating frequently throughout the day and you have blood sugar issues, you’re going to have fewer amino acids going into the muscles. You will also have more atrophy.

A generally good keto and intermittent fasting plan for growing muscle on keto:
• 2 meals a day
• 50g of carbs per day
• 7-8 oz. of protein per meal
• Get plenty of sleep

Powerful data from Dorian Yates (6 time Mr. Olympia winner) on muscle growth:
1. He starts off with 2 warm-up sets with light weights
2. Then he does 1 extremely difficult set of about 6-8 reps (he goes as hard as he can, and then he has someone assist him in doing a few more reps)
3. He works the negative to failure
4. He doesn’t create momentum as he works out (he wants controlled isolated movement with a pause)
5. He lets the muscle recover fully (he only works a muscle once per week)
6. He may hit the muscle with 3-5 different exercises, but he will only do that intense to total failure and beyond set once per week
7. He works out 1 hour per day 4 times per week (on off days, he does cardio, which helps with recovery)

If a person decides to do something like this, they need to start very gradually and possibly have a personal trainer for help. But, I think this, along with keto, intermittent fasting, low stress, and good sleep, would help a person get muscle hypertrophy. Also, be sure to keep in mind that full recovery is key. You have to work out intensely to create the damage and then recover completely to have muscle hypertrophy. This may take time.
