Is there really a difference between Himalayan salt and sea salt? The answer may surprise you!

In this video, we’re going to talk about the difference between Himalayan salt and sea salt. Is there really a difference?

Himalayan salt is actually very different from standard sea salt. Here’s why.

Although both Himalayan salt and sea salt have trace minerals, sea salt also has microplastics. One study found that 90% of sea salt products had small amounts of plastics.

However, Himalayan salt has zero microplastics. Why? Himalayan salt is sourced from an ancient sea that existed before humans and pollution.

Microplastics can create a lot of inflammation in the body because they act as endocrine disruptors. Microplastics also take 500 years to break down.

Do not use sea salt unless it’s Celtic sea salt. This is a much cleaner version of sea salt from France.

What about table salt? Well, not only does table salt have microplastics, but it is also bleach and doesn’t contain trace minerals. Additionally, table salt can contain added sugar and aluminum as an anti-caking agent.

We need a good-quality salt to help:
• Make HCL
• Support the adrenals
• Promote immune health
• Hydrate the body
• Promote healthy insulin levels
• Support the sodium-potassium pump

You need around 1-2 tsp of salt per day. This depends on your activity level. If you sweat a lot, this can increase your need for sodium.

If you’re on keto, you want a bare minimum of 1 tsp of salt a day. This is because, as you lose fat, you also lose water weight and electrolytes. Salt is a vital electrolyte.

Some studies show that certain microbes in your body can help break down microplastics. Make sure your microbiome is healthy. Additionally, cruciferous vegetables and omega-3 fatty acids can help detoxify your body, eliminate endocrine disruptors, and keep inflammation down.

In this video, we’re going to talk about how to start keto correctly.

First, let’s talk about what keto is. The ketogenic diet puts you into a state called ketosis. Ketosis is when your body switches from using sugar as fuel to using ketones as fuel. To do this, you have to lower your intake of carbs and sugars. This includes grains, starches, sugary drinks, bread, pasta, candy, and fruits (except some berries).

You also want to limit how often you eat. Every time you eat, you trigger insulin. Insulin stops fat burning and triggers fat storage. Our goal is to lower your insulin levels. The best way to stop triggering insulin spikes is to eat less frequently. This doesn’t mean you have to eat less food (or lower your calories)—it just means no snacking in between meals and only consuming food 1-2 times a day.

On the healthy keto diet, there is one exception to the no-carb rule. You can have as many low-carb vegetables as you want—just avoid starchy vegetables like potatoes, sweet potatoes, and corn. You want to have 7-10 cups of vegetables every day.

After lowering your carbohydrates, you want to consume a moderate amount of protein. 3-8 oz of protein per meal. You should always consume meats with fat on them. Never go for lean or low-fat options. You can consume meat, fish, chicken, seafood, eggs (with the yolk), cheese, and nuts.

Once you’ve dialed in your protein, you want to focus on consuming healthy fats. Fats will help you stay full and satisfied. Healthy fats include avocado, butter, olive oil, coconut oil, and animal fats. Avoid soy oil, corn oil, and canola oil.

Once you’ve got the hang of keto, you should add in intermittent fasting. Intermittent fasting is simply cutting back on your meals and allowing your body more time to recover from insulin. Here are three tips for intermittent fasting:
1. Only eat when you’re hungry
2. Skip breakfast
3. Stop snacking

In this video, we’re going to talk about why vitamin B6 supplements can cause vitamin B6 deficiency symptoms.

The wrong form of vitamin B6 is pyridoxine hydrochloride (HCL). This is a synthetic version of vitamin B6 that has the potential to cause B6 deficiency symptoms. Pyridoxine HCL comes from petroleum, hydrochloric acid, and formaldehyde.

The best natural forms of vitamin B6 are:
• Pyridoxine (not HCL)
• Pyridoxal phosphate
• Pyridoxal 5’-phosphate

Vitamin B6 helps:
• Control cortisol
• Create serotonin
• Convert amino acids into glucose

Low vitamin B6 is often caused by:
• Taking synthetic forms
• Drinking alcohol
• Stress
• Inflammation
• Birth control pills
• Malabsorption issues
• Genetics

Do you know someone who is skinny and eats a lot of sugar and carbs? Here’s why this can be a huge problem.

In this video, we’re going to talk about a comment I saw on a recent YouTube video. The commenter said, “My mom is skinny, and she eats sugar.”

Being overweight is only one of the effects of consuming sugar and carbohydrates. In fact, there are a few terms for this: skinny fat, TOFI (thin on the outside, fat on the inside), and MONW (metabolically obese, normal weight).

Many people who look skinny yet eat a lot of unhealthy foods have a fatty liver.

An A1C test can test how much sugar is in your blood over the past three months. This will indicate how healthy you are on the inside and if you’re heading towards diabetes. CAC tests will indicate how healthy your cardiovascular system is. HOMA-IR is a test that will tell you if you’re developing insulin resistance.

Even if you’re skinny, eating sugar and carbs can contribute to:
• A fatty liver
• Brain problems, like dementia
• Heart disease
• Blood clots
• Vision problems
• Kidney disease
• High blood pressure

In summary, just because someone is skinny doesn’t mean that they’re healthy. Being skinny can hide many internal issues if you’re not on a healthy diet.

In this video, we’re going to talk about migraine headaches and caffeine.

When I was in practice, I would regularly find that my client who had migraines also drank a lot of coffee. If you don’t already know, caffeine can actually be a trigger for migraines.

87% of Americans drink coffee. On average, they consume 164mg of caffeine each day.

Studies show that two or more caffeinated beverages each day can trigger migraines. 3-4 caffeinated beverages a day increases your risk of migraines by 1.5X, and five servings increase your risk by 2X.

Other migraine triggers include:
• Weather
• Sleep
• Stress
• Low blood sugar
• Loud noises
• Bright lights

I’ve narrowed down some remedies for migraine headaches.
1. Decrease or eliminate your caffeine
2. Take magnesium
3. Go on a healthy keto diet
4. Increase your sodium
5. Massage your gallbladder
6. Take sea kelp

In this video, we’re going to talk about why some people have a had diet and still live a long life.

I recently had a commenter say, “My grandfather ate bread and sugar and drank alcohol and lived to be 90. How do you explain that?” This is an interesting topic that I’d like to cover in this video.

We’re all born with different genes. Some people have highly robust genes that can withstand much more than others.

Other people develop metabolic issues early in life and are not able to consume unhealthy foods without them having a tremendously negative effect on their health.

For me, it was at 28 years old that I began to feel the effects of unhealthy eating. From that point forward, I had to eat healthy to feel healthy.

Epigenetics also play an important role in how healthy your body is. Your health reserve and attitude are other pieces of the health and longevity puzzle.

In summary, yes, it is possible to eat unhealthily and live a long life. However, very few people are able to do this without experiencing serious health consequences.

Whether or not you have robust genes, your health can benefit from a healthy keto diet and intermittent fasting.

2:22 Can you reverse liver cirrhosis?
3:00 Slowing liver cirrhosis
4:50 Need keto consulting?

In this video, we’re going to talk about liver cirrhosis and whether or it is reversible.

First, let’s talk about the differences between fibrosis and cirrhosis. Fibrosis is the first stage of cirrhosis, while cirrhosis is an advanced version of fibrosis. Essentially, cirrhosis is advanced scarring in the liver.

The more scarring in your liver, the less your liver has the ability to detoxify your body. In turn, you may have a build-up of toxins in your body if you have liver fibrosis or cirrhosis.

Liver fibrosis can start out with a fatty liver, liver inflammation, viral infections, alcohol consumption, a poor diet, low choline levels, too much iron, and certain drugs.

How do you know if you have cirrhosis? In many cases, the symptoms are non-existent. However, the signs of liver cirrhosis may include:
• Edema
• Low cognitive function
• Ascites
• Jaundice
• Itchiness
• Poor sleep
• Dark urine

The more symptoms you have, the more advanced it is.

So, back to the question, can you reverse liver cirrhosis? The answer is: it depends. If you have mild fibrosis or cirrhosis, it may be possible to reverse some of the damage. However, if you have severe liver cirrhosis, the problem may not be reversible.

The most important thing is to do whatever you can to avoid liver cirrhosis in the first place.

Here are the best ways to support a healthy liver:
• Tocotrienols
• Bile salts
• Fasting
• Vitamin D
• Probiotics

In this video, we’re going to talk about the #1 addictive drug in the world: caffeine.

More people are addicted to caffeine than heroin, cocaine, tobacco, and alcohol.

Caffeine is found in not just coffee but it is also in tea, cola, chocolate, sports drinks, and many other foods and drinks.

In small amounts, caffeine typically doesn’t have too many side effects. However, in large amounts, caffeine can cause:
• Heart palpitations
• Increased blood pressure
• Poor sleep
• Low vitamin B1
• Low calcium
• Increased anxiety

I have one small coffee each day. If I have any more, then I won’t be able to sleep.

If you have low vitamin B1 because of caffeine, it can help to take nutritional yeast.

87% of adults in the US drinks caffeinated beverages, which provide 165mg of caffeine each day.

There are some benefits of consuming caffeine.
1. Increased alertness
2. Increased sense of well-being
3. Fights off sleepiness during the day
4. Increases your sociableness

How does caffeine work? Caffeine works by blocking a chemical called adenosine. Adenosine makes you feel sleepy and relaxed.

If you’re going to drink coffee, it’s best to stick to organic coffee brands. Coffee is one of the most chemically treated products on the market. Only 3% of coffee is organic. Avoid non-organic coffee brands.

0:12 What is an ear infection?
1:16 Causes of ear infections

In this video, we’re going to talk about the one thing you have to avoid if you have an ear infection.

This ear infection is also called otitis media. The word “media” comes from the word “middle”. These types of ear infections originate in the middle ear.

The middle ear has a small tube that is about an inch and a half that connects your middle ear to the back of your throat. This tube is typically collapsed, which prevents mucus from backing up into the ear, and it helps equalize the pressure in your ear. The tube also helps drain fluid from the middle ear.

There are several common causes of ear infections.
1. Smoking or being exposed to second-hand smoke
2. Bacterial and viral infections
3. Milk allergies (this is the #1 cause of ear infections in children!)

A drop of colloidal silver can help with ear infections. It has powerful antibacterial and antiviral properties. Garlic oil mixed with olive oil also works very well.

Finally, you want to avoid all milk products and sugars.

Children who are breastfed also have lower rates of ear infections than children who are not breastfed.

In this video, we’re going to talk about what country consumes the most sugar.

The country that consumes the most sugar (per person) is the United Arab Emirates.

In 2017, people in the United Arab Emirates consumed 1855 thousand metric tons of sugar. With a population of a little over 9 million people, that means that each citizen consumes just over one pound (0.5kg) of sugar per day.

To reach one pound of sugar each day, you would have to consume:
• 100g chocolate bar (50g sugar)
• 2 cups of ice cream (100g sugar)
• 1 sandwich (50g sugar)
• 2 burgers (100g sugar)
• 2 pizza slices (100g sugar
• 1 liter of cola (100g sugar)
(total = 500g or 1lb of sugar)

This explains why the UAE has one of the highest rates of obesity in the world. One-third of their population is severely overweight. Not to mention the massive amount of diabetes that has spread throughout the country.

If you are from the middle east and you want to continue to better your health, you should check out my Arabic channel. This channel is packed full of great content to help you get your health on track with the healthy keto diet.

Today I want to cover the countries with the highest and lowest rates of cancer.

Countries with the highest rates of cancer (the numbers to the right indicate the number of people per 100,000 that develop cancer):
1. United States — 542
2. Canada — 463
3. New Zealand — 321
4. Norway — 315
5. Australia — 304
6. Japan — 299
7. Netherlands — 282

Countries with the lowest rates of cancer (the numbers to the right indicate the number of people per 100,000 that develop cancer):
1. South Asia — 25
2. India — 31
3. Iraq — 42
4. Indonesia — 43
5. Cambodia — 44
6. Sub-Saharan Africa — 47
7. Egypt — 54

I don’t believe spending more money on healthcare is the way to go to decrease the rate of cancer. When comparing the countries that have the highest rate of cancer to the countries with the lowest rate of cancer, what do you think is the reason for this?

Inflammation Videos:

Are you doing keto and intermittent fasting, but your blood sugar levels are still high? This could be why.

Timestamps
0:00 High blood sugar levels
0:10 Where is the sugar coming from?
1:09 Insulin resistance
1:56 What to do for insulin resistance

Do you have high blood sugar levels even though you’re not consuming dietary sugar? Today we’re going to talk about why this could be happening.

In this situation, the sugar is actually coming from your liver and kidneys. There is something called gluconeogenesis, which is the formation of new sugar. Your body always needs a very small amount of sugar, but your body can make this sugar out of non-carbohydrate sources. It can make it out of fat, protein, and even ketones. Insulin controls this process. It’s supposed to turn off gluconeogenesis.

When you have high blood sugar, but you’re not consuming any sugar, this could mean that you have very low amounts of insulin in your body. Your insulin may actually be too low. Insulin resistance is a condition that can cause you to not have enough insulin.

With insulin resistance, you have high levels of insulin, but that insulin is not working in the body, and it’s not shutting down gluconeogenesis. It may be best to focus on improving insulin resistance.

How to help improve insulin resistance:
• Exercise more
• Increase your fasting
• Increase your fiber (vegetable fiber)
• Apple cider vinegar
• Vitamin D
• Chromium
• Zinc
• B vitamins (nutritional yeast)
• Potassium
• Magnesium
• Get more sleep
• Decrease inflammation
• Give it more time
• Focus on other improvements

In this short video, we’re going to talk about three things you can do if you have allergies.

T regulatory cells (Tregs) are a part of your immune system. They control the development of autoimmune conditions and prevent the development of allergies. There are three important things that can strengthen the T regulatory cells.

3 important remedies for allergies:
1. Probiotics
• Always take a small amount in the beginning, and take it before bed. You can then take more, see how you respond, and continue this until you get to the right dosage.

2. Fasting
• Do intermittent fasting on a regular basis, as well as periodic prolonged fasting.

3. Vitamin D
• You may want to take 10,000 IUs to 20,000 IUs of vitamin D per day. You may notice fewer allergy symptoms after a few weeks. Vitamin D may also help with asthma.

In this video, we’re going to talk with Joseph Golisano about his incredible keto transformation.

Before Joseph found keto, he had a challenging time losing weight. No matter what he did—cutting out junk food, eating chicken, fish, and salads, nothing worked.

Joseph built a gym in his basement and religiously exercised six days each week and still didn’t see any results.

After 18 years of dieting and exercising with no results, Joseph found the Dr. Berg YouTube channel. Within his first week, he began to actually lose weight.

Every week after, he consistently lost weight. After ten months, he lost 80 pounds. After 14 months, he had lost a whopping 100 pounds. How incredible?

Joseph’s wife also lost 97 pounds.

Joseph feels and looks better than ever. He was able to cut out medications and normalize his blood pressure.

Within a year and a half, he went from 242.5 lbs (at 5′ 5″) to 133 lbs on keto. If that doesn’t show the power of the healthy keto diet, I don’t know what does.

In this video, we’re going to talk about the best nutrient for improved thinking.

This nutrient is choline. Choline used to be considered a B vitamin. It’s a lemon-tasting vitamin that your body requires. Choline is a vital building block for acetylcholine, which is a primary building block for your brain. It has an influence on:
• New memories
• Reasoning
• Concentration
• Cognition
• Sleep
• Growing synapses
• Coordinating movement (both speed and accuracy)

Signs of low levels of choline include:
• Brain fog
• ADD
• Brain fatigue
• Decreased learning
• Memory loss
• Poor recall
• Feeling distracted
• Irritability

The best dietary sources of choline are:
• Beef liver
• Shrimp
• Eggs
• Scallops
• Leafy greens

If you start adding choline to your diet and you’re still experiencing symptoms, it may be an issue with your overall diet. Your entire diet has to improve to experience the full benefits of choline. Intermittent fasting and the Healthy Keto diet are the best ways to support a healthy body. Check out my other videos on this channel for more information on healthy ketosis.

3:33 Need keto consulting?

In this video, we’re going to talk about what you need to know about diabetes, medications, and the keto diet.

If you’re someone who is on medications for diabetes and you want to start keto, you may be curious as to what will happen when you go into ketosis. Will your medication needs change?

First, I’d like to say that you should always talk to your doctor and get their approval for any changes to your medications. Medical doctors are trained to adjust your medications as needed.

Type 2 diabetes is a problem of high sugars in the blood. Medications address this issue. The problem is, when you lower your carbs, your need for these medications may go down. This is because cutting out carbs will lower your blood sugar levels.

Without making adjustments, you may run into a hypoglycemic situation.

If you’re starting keto, continue to check in with your doctor as well as test your blood sugar levels frequently. This will give you indications of low or high blood sugars.

For some people, blood sugar levels on keto go down pretty quickly. For others, it can take a lot of time—it depends on how bad your diabetes is and how your body responds to keto.

If your blood sugars are low or normal, should you still take blood sugar medications? This is something you’re going to want to check with your doctor on. In my opinion, the answer is no.

In summary, if you’re a diabetic on keto, you should test your blood sugars and consult your doctor frequently so they can make changes to your medications as needed.

Vitamin D Toxicity:

Is 600 IUs of vitamin D enough to support a healthy body? Here’s what you need to know.

In this video, we’re going to talk about vitamin D. In particular, I want to answer a question that one of my viewers had. The question was, “Is 600 IUs of vitamin D enough? I was told that’s all I need.”

The answer is… Absolutely not!

Let’s start by talking about where you get vitamin D from.

You get vitamin D from the sun. When your skin is exposed to the sun, your body turns cholesterol into an inactive form of vitamin D. From there, it is converted into the active form of vitamin D.

In the summer, you will get far more vitamin D than in the winter. However, the amount of vitamin D your body produces is heavily reliant on your latitude. If you’re in a warm climate, you will likely have more exposure to the sun. Those who live in the northern hemisphere are very likely to have lower levels of vitamin D.

Vitamin D levels also depend on how much you go outside, your skin color, your age, whether or not you are exposing enough skin or wearing sunscreen, how heavy you are, etc…

So, if you don’t get enough vitamin D from sunlight, can’t you just get it from food?

Vitamin D isn’t in a lot of food. Even in foods that are relatively high in vitamin D, it’s not enough to supply you with the amount of vitamin D you need to support a healthy body.

If you have inflammation in your gut, you also won’t be able to absorb enough vitamin D from food to support your health. Viruses, health problems, and genetics can also influence vitamin D absorption.

My opinion is that 10,000 IUs is ideal for maintaining vitamin D levels.

Eating too frequently goes against the very programming of our genetics. It’s anti-survival.

1:45 Frequent eating is anti-survival

When some people are first introduced to fasting, they may think it’s anti-survival. However, frequent eating is actually anti-survival.

Many wild animals do not eat all day long. Domestic animals that are fed too frequently tend to be overweight. In the wild, fat animals typically have a fat layer around them to survive in cold temperatures. They don’t have visceral fat (fat around the organs) like humans do.

Humans are very similar to animals in regards to fasting. Only in the past 10,000 years, when there was the agricultural revolution, did humans start having problems with chronic disease. Now, we have access to food anytime we want. There is a deadly combination of available foods and cravings for those available foods.

From an evolutionary standpoint, our bodies were designed to eat less frequently. For example, we have way more hormones involved in releasing fuel (fat-burning) than we do for storing fuel.
