In this video, we’re going to talk about soft drinks and fatty liver disease.

It amazes me that so many people still drink a large amount of soda each day. Most people aren’t aware of what it can potentially do to your body—especially your liver.

If you’re healthy, your liver should only be made up of around 5% fat. When you have a fatty liver, the liver can be between 60-80% fat.

Fatty liver disease is the leading cause of cirrhosis, which is a permanent liver condition.

In one study, soft drinks were the only independent variable that predicted a fatty liver by 82.5%. This means that, out of all of the dietary habits, drinking sugary soft drinks is the worst for your liver.

Here’s a breakdown of the most common sugary drinks in the study:
• Coca Cola – 40%
• Diet Coke – 40%
• Fruit juice – 20%

High-fructose corn syrup does the most damage out of any of the ingredients. High-fructose corn syrup is made up of around 50% glucose and 50% fructose. Fructose can only be dealt with by the liver.

The liver turns fructose into triglycerides, which then can spill out of the liver and into other organs.

If you drink soda or you know someone who drinks soda, have them watch this video and switch to a soda sweetened with stevia.

In this video, we’re going to talk about why diet soda can cause a fatty liver.

Aspartame is an artificial sweetener in most diet sodas that can cause many health problems.

The byproducts of aspartame in the body are phenylalanine, aspartic acid, and methanol. Methanol then turns into formaldehyde. Together, methanol and formaldehyde deplete your glutathione.

Glutathione is one of the primary antioxidants that protect your body. It protects the brain and liver and promotes detoxification.

The depletion of glutathione when drinking diet soda happens in your liver, red blood cells, and brain. In turn, many problems can happen, including:
• Increased liver enzymes ALT and AST
• Hyperglycemia
• Liver lesions
• Liver inflammation
• Liver necrosis
• Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease

Additionally, diet soda can alter your gut microbiome, which can lead to many other health issues on its own.

In summary, if you are drinking diet sodas with aspartame, make sure you switch to a healthier sweetener like stevia.

Postmenopausal women need more butter and egg yolks. Why? Because they’re at risk for osteoporosis and osteopenia. Their hormones have shifted, and they’re in a situation where they need to build bone.

Most postmenopausal women go straight for the calcium supplements, like calcium carbonate, to build bone. But this is a mistake. This could potentially increase the risk of heart attacks. The vitamin they may really need more of is vitamin K2. It’s also important not to go on a low-fat diet.

Great sources of vitamin K2:
• Grass-fed butter
• Egg yolks
• Organ meats
• Cheese
• Dark chicken meat
• Fish eggs
• Natto
• Breast milk
• Lard
• Tallow

Benefits of vitamin K2:
• It binds calcium with protein
• It controls calcium into the bone
• It decreases calcification in the arteries
• It strengthens the bones
• It can support healthy blood sugar levels
• It can decrease the risk of kidney stones
• It can decrease the risk of cancer
• It can decrease the risk of dementia

Sleeping Detoxifies Your Brain

2:17 How to sleep better and detox
3:02 Bulletproof your immune system *free course!

Why do we sleep? We sleep for repair, rejuvenation, and detoxification. Today we’re going to talk about how sleeping detoxifies the brain. The brain actually detoxifies while a person sleeps. This may be why people often wake up feeling groggy if they consume alcohol or eat junk food— because of the added toxins.

Detoxification occurs during the deep delta rejuvenating slow-wave phase of sleep. There is also an on/off mechanism that occurs, which increases and decreases oxygen and blood flow.

When there is a decrease in oxygen and blood flow, you have an increase in cerebrospinal fluid that’s circulating the brain. The cerebrospinal fluid basically helps flush out metabolic junk from your brain and detoxifies the brain. This could help prevent things like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

The more you detox, the better your memory, focus, and concentration can be. What you eat also directly relates to this. If you’re also consuming things that help detoxify the body, it may help this situation.

It’s important to get enough sleep. Most people need 7-9 hours of sleep. Some people can get by with less.

How to support deep slow-wave sleep and detox the brain:
• Exercise
• Physical work that involves the entire body
• Fasting
• Go to bed when you’re slightly hungry
• Get on a low-carb diet (ketones)

3:37 Bulletproof your immune system *free course

Today I want to cover why people who are overweight have a higher risk of getting COVID-19.

Potential reasons why people who are overweight have a higher risk of getting COVID-19:

1. The extra fat on the abdomen puts physical pressure on your diaphragm and lungs, restricting oxygen. This can make the lungs more susceptible to problems.

2. There is a higher risk of blood clots to the small vessels of the lungs and the inside of the arteries. There has been a link found between blood clots and COVID-19.

3. The fat is spilling over from the liver into other organs and infiltrating fat in the spleen, thymus, and bone marrow. This may decrease the immune system.

4. There is chronic inflammation. Inflammation can increase someone’s risk for a cytokine storm, which is an inflammatory condition that’s out of control.

5. Insulin resistance worsens obesity, and obesity worsens insulin resistance. People who have insulin resistance or who are obese may be more susceptible to SARS-CoV-2.

6. In many cases, people who are overweight or obese are deficient in vitamin D. I believe vitamin D is very important to potentially help minimize the complications, side effects, and severity of COVID-19. It may also help decrease your susceptibility to the COVID virus.

If you’re overweight or obese, you may benefit from getting on the healthy keto diet and doing intermittent fasting.

In this video, we’re going to talk about why tomatoes are flavorless.

It can be difficult to get your kids to eat vegetables because most of them don’t have any flavor.

Vegetables have hundreds of flavor chemicals. We are attracted to these flavors as a survival mechanism. We seek after flavors because they are a sign of nutrients.

Unfortunately, since the 50s, the nutrients in most store-bought foods have taken a dive. So when you get an amazing-looking tomato at the store, it doesn’t have as much flavor because it doesn’t have the nutrients that give it flavor.

Many foods today are very bland, like commercial chicken, beef, and pork. In fact, many meats have flavors added to them.

Since foods no longer have flavor, many people have started consuming processed foods. This is also known as the Dorito effect. Foods like Doritos are packed full of flavor but have no nutrients to nourish your body and signal fullness.

We’ve made a shift from nutrient-dense foods to flavorful processed foods. This is a major reason why people overeat.

What is the solution? Here’s what you can do:
• Go to the farmer’s market for more nutrient-dense options
• Always choose organic, grass-fed, wild-caught, and non-GMO foods

Today I want to cover the benefits of plank exercises. With plank exercises, you’re stationary. You’re not contracting your muscles. There is the front plank (the regular version), and there is a modified version.

Modified version:
You’re on your knees and forearms. Your spine is straight. You’re keeping your shoulders back and down, and you’re not bending at the hip level.

Front plank:
You’re almost in a push-up position, but you’re on your elbows. You maintain this position.

There are other variations of this exercise. You can start out doing a set of 1-6 reps, holding the position for at least 10 seconds. You can work up to holding the position for 1 minute, resting between 30-90 seconds in between.

Potential benefits of plank exercises:
1. Builds core muscles (abdominal, back, sides, hips, buttocks)
2. Fixes posture
3. Helps with symmetrical strength

4:19 What you can do
5:18 Hypoglycemia and adrenaline
6:12 Bulletproof your immune system *free course!

What emotion triggers adrenaline? Fear. Fear triggers adrenaline.

A few other things that trigger adrenaline are:
• Exercise
• Excitement
• Physical threat
• Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)

What does adrenaline do?
• It increases the heart rate
• It increases sweating
• It causes vasodilation of the lungs and heart
• It makes the body stronger
• It makes the body more alert
• It increases energy
• It triggers ACTH

Both adrenaline and cortisol prepare the body for a stress state. The difference is that adrenaline takes seconds to kick in, and cortisol can take a few minutes. Cortisol is also more long-lasting, where adrenaline is more short-lived.

Short-term exposure to adrenaline can be a good thing. However, chronic exposure to too much adrenaline can be very bad for the body.

Chronic exposure to too much adrenaline can:
• Burnout the adrenals
• Affect the heart
• Affect your mood
• Decrease your stress tolerance
• Prevent relaxing sleep

Adrenaline is like an on switch for stress. Unfortunately, there’s basically no off switch. If the adrenals are chronically stimulated, over time, the adrenals tend to stay on and can’t turn off easily. This can cause someone to have stress and poor sleep. It can also activate cortisol and can even cause belly fat.

Action steps:
• Turn off stress
• Take vitamin B1, vitamin D3, and vitamin C
• Sleep more
• Take long walks
• Consume a low-carb diet

Hypoglycemia can trigger adrenaline. Insulin can cause hypoglycemia. A high carbohydrate triggers insulin. So, a high carb diet can keep your body in fight or flight mode, activating adrenaline and creating a situation where it can be hard to lose weight. A low-carb diet may help restore normal levels of adrenaline.

Are vitamin D2 and vitamin D3 the same? I don’t think so.

Vitamin D2:
• Is mainly made synthetically
• You can get vitamin D2 from mushrooms (but many people don’t do this)
• There are not a lot of studies on vitamin D2
• The studies on vitamin D2 do not have the decreased mortality benefit that D3 has
• Vitamin D2 is less expensive, but you need more of it to see results

Vitamin D3:
• You can get vitamin D3 from animal sources (fatty fish, red meat, cod liver, cod liver oil, liver, egg yolks, and butter)
• There are studies on vitamin D3
• Vitamin D3 is 5x faster in the conversion
• Vitamin D3 is less toxic
• Vitamin D3 is more stable

Plants Cause Cancer Cells to Commit Suicide

2:43 Key takeaways
2:53 How to bulletproof your immune system

In this video, we’re going to talk about plants and cancer cells. Some plants have the ability to cause cancer cells to commit suicide.

The nutrient sulforaphane is found in many cruciferous vegetables, including:
• Broccoli sprouts
• Broccoli
• Cauliflower
• Kale
• Brussels sprouts
• Cabbage
• Bok Choy

The question is this: if phytonutrients like sulforaphane kill off cancer cells, do they also kill off healthy cells? Here’s a section from a study on this topic: “Sulforaphane selectively inhibited HDAC (this enzyme reduces DNA stability) activity and induced p21 expression (meaning, the death of cancerous cells) in benign hyperplasia (tumors) and cancer cells, while it only caused a transient decrease in HDAC activity and did not affect p21 expression in normal cells.”

Essentially, this means that these phytonutrients only target cancer cells—not healthy cells.

Phytonutrients like sulforaphane are safe for most people unless you have preexisting gut damage. If you have gut issues, cruciferous vegetables may cause more inflammation.

In summary, research suggests that consuming plenty of vegetables may help reduce the risk of cancer cell growth.

1:47 How to counter cortisol’s effects on the immune system

In this video, we’re going to talk about why stress increases the risk of cancer.

You may already know that stress can increase the risk of many other health problems. Cancer is at the top of the list—especially when we’re talking about chronic stress.

When you are under physical or mental stress, your body releases more cortisol. You need cortisol for many normal functions throughout the body—you can’t live without it. However, too much cortisol over a long period of time can be a big problem.

High cortisol can suppress white blood cells. When your immune system is constantly suppressed, you don’t get help from the natural killer (NK) cells. NK cells are a part of the innate immune system.

NK cells do two things: kill viruses and kill tumor cells. Without their help, you have an increased risk of cancer.

Here’s how you can help counter the effects of cortisol on the immune system:
• Vitamin D
• Zinc
• Lower your cortisol by reducing your stress

Check out my other videos above to learn how you can better manage your cortisol and stress levels.

4:20 The importance of electrolytes for fasting and exercise
5:09 How to bulletproof your immune system (free course)

In this video, we’re going to talk about how to lose fat and build muscle at the same time.

Exercise is responsible for about 15% of fat loss. Dietary changes make up for the other 85%.

While your diet makes up the bulk of your fat loss, it’s still important to exercise.

The key to building muscle while losing fat is to increase the intensity and volume of your exercise.

If you’re on keto and aren’t exercising, you will stop gaining muscle and possibly even lose muscle mass.

Keep in mind that you need plenty of recovery time and sleep after exercising. If you overtrain without recovering, the benefits of exercise reduce significantly.

Exercise can stimulate growth hormone up to 700%—which helps you build muscle.

The lower your carbs, the more you will lose weight because your insulin level will lower. But, insulin is also essential for the growth of muscle. If you increase your carbs to build muscle, you’ll also stop losing fat. So what can you do to both build muscle and lose fat?

Increasing your protein can help increase insulin without stopping fat loss—if you get the right balance. Try around 8oz of protein per meal.

Fasting is the most important thing for losing weight because it brings your insulin levels down. If you’re doing intermittent fasting, you can handle more protein without cause fat gain. Fasting can increase growth hormone by up to 2000%. Just make sure you have 1-1.5 tsp of sea salt and plenty of potassium and magnesium per day while fasting, or you won’t have the energy to exercise.

In this video, we’re going to talk about antiperspirant deodorants and breast cancer.

Most breast cancer develops in the upper quadrant of the breast, closest to the armpit.

Unfortunately, there are certain chemicals in deodorants that are toxic. These toxins can enter the body and accumulate in the lymph nodes. Aluminum and parabens are particularly toxic.

Shaving your armpits may increase the absorption of these toxic chemicals.

Aluminum and parabens can increase your estrogen level, which can throw off a healthy hormone balance and potentially increase the risk of breast cancer.

What are deodorants and antiperspirants? Deodorants are chemicals that make your sweat smell better, and antiperspirants are chemicals that block sweat.

Make sure you read the labels of the products you buy. You want to avoid most antiperspirants since they contain toxins. Non-toxic deodorants can help you avoid body odors without the potential health effects of antiperspirants.

In this video, we’re going to talk about 13 reasons why your metabolism is slow. If you struggle with weight gain and can’t seem to lose weight, this video is for you.

Take a look:

1. Age – As you age, growth hormone lowers. Fasting and exercise (especially (HIIT) increase growth hormone.

2. Menopause – Menopause can cause high cortisol, which alters metabolism. Support your adrenal glands to fight high cortisol.

3. Pregnancy – Being pregnant causes high estrogen. Avoid dairy, flaxseed, soy, and other estrogenic foods.

4. Dieting – The longer you’ve been on a low-calorie diet, the worse your metabolism will be. Keto and intermittent fasting is the best remedy.

5. High-carb diets – High-carb diets cause insulin resistance

6. Chronic stress – Stress increases blood glucose levels, leading to poor metabolism.

7. Hypothyroidism – This is often an immune system problem rooted in the gut that affects metabolism.

8. Fatty liver – The liver helps regulate hormones that control your metabolism, such as growth hormone, insulin, cortisol, and estrogen. Choline, fasting, and keto can help a fatty liver.

9. Obesity – The more fat you have, the more estrogen you make. In turn, this can cause more issues with your metabolism.

10. Snacking – Every time you eat, you spike your insulin levels, which affects your metabolism.

11. Alcohol – Alcohol contains carbohydrates and also blocks your ability to tap into fat burning. Alcohol can turn off fat burning for up to 48 hours.

12. Early childhood infection – An infection in early childhood can slow down a child’s metabolism.

13. Medications – Certain medications can slow down your metabolism.
