In this video, I want to cover why lemon water is essential if you’re doing fasting and the ketogenic diet.

Typically, when a person thinks of lemons, they think of citric acid. Lemons may help decrease the risk of kidney stones because they help bind with oxalates. There is also some vitamin C in lemons. But, the vitamin C is destroyed if the lemon juice product has been pasteurized.

What’s interesting about lemon juice, is that within one hour after you consume it, it turns alkaline. Lemons may be beneficial for people that have acidosis.

Symptoms of acidosis:
• Shortness of breath
• Labored breathing
• Headaches
• Tiredness
• Confusion
• Tremors
• Arrhythmias
• Increased heart rate

You don’t actually want to be too alkaline or too acid. A great remedy for being too acidic would actually be lemon juice.

What can cause the body to be too acidic:
• Keto/fasting
• Kidney problems
• Too much iron
• Alcohol
• Lactic acidosis
• Ketoacidosis
• Liver problems
• Excessive exercise

If you’re doing fasting or keto, mix some lemon (about 1 oz.) in water and drink that to help minimize acidosis and some of the symptoms of acidosis.

Why is xylitol dangerous for dogs? It’s not actually dangerous for humans and many other animals, but dogs have a different metabolism for xylitol.

Xylitol is a sugar alcohol used in things like gum, toothpaste, keto baked goods, chewable vitamins, and more.

Xylitol can create a massive insulin release in dogs. This can bring the blood sugars way down and can cause hypoglycemia.

A few symptoms of hypoglycemia in dogs:
• Weakness

In this video, we’re going to talk about Alzheimer’s disease. I recently read a book on this topic, and I want to share this information with you.

Now, you never see Alzheimer’s in young people or children. If you look at the difference between people who are young and people who are old, you will notice a significant shift in hormones.

Between 35 and 50 years old, your estrogen level will decrease by 35%. Progesterone drops 75% between 35 and 50 years of age. You also experience a drop in DHA, pregnenolone, growth hormone (GH), and vitamin D3. Keep in mind that vitamin D3 acts as a hormone.

You also experience an increase of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) as you age. Women see these changes after menopause. LH and FSH increase estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.

In this book, the author found a connection between increase LH and Alzheimer’s disease.

Interestingly, smoking cigarettes and ibuprofen reduce LH and Alzheimer’s risk. Now, I’m definitely not saying you should start taking ibuprofen and smoking cigarettes to prevent AD.

The drug Lupron—which is used for endometriosis, fibroids, prostate cancer, and breast cancer—also decreases the risk of Alzheimer’s. Lupron also happens to lower LH. However, Lupron has numerous adverse side effects.

There is one drug without side effects that can also increase LH—melatonin. Melatonin is stimulated by darkness, and it helps you get into a deep sleep. It also helps stimulate your immune system and offers powerful antioxidant properties.

Melatonin has significant effects when it comes to reducing Alzheimer’s risk in women. Men can also see some benefits when taking much larger amounts of melatonin.

Here is what the book recommends for reducing Alzheimer’s risk.

– Females: 75mg of melatonin per day
– Males: 120 mg of melatonin per day
– 300mg pregnenolone
– 3tsp MCT oil
– Regular exercise
– Fasting

Always check with your doctor before applying any of this information. This is just to educate you on these interesting links between hormones and Alzheimer’s disease.

In this video, we’re going to talk about the best vitamin B1 foods.

In many other videos, I’ve talked about the importance of vitamin B1. If you become deficient in B1, here are some of the symptoms you can experience:
• Anxiety
• Restlessness
• Panic attack
• Lack of stamina
• Excessive sweating

The best source of vitamin B1 is nutritional yeast. Nutritional yeast is the best natural source of B vitamins. Avoid taking synthetic vitamin B supplements.

The following are other sources of vitamin B1.

1. Pork 6oz – 1.1mg (96% of RDA)
2. Salmon 6oz – .6mg (48% of RDA)
3. Flax 1oz – .5mg (39% of RDA)
4. Sunflower feeds 1oz – .4mg (35% of RDA)
5. Green peas 1 cup – .4mg (35% of RDA)
6. Macadamia nuts 1oz – .3mg (30% of RDA)
7. Acorn squash 1 cup – .3mg (30% of RDA)

An adult needs between 1.0-1.2mg of vitamin B1 daily.

On top of getting more vitamin B1 in your diet, you also need to avoid things that deplete B1. This includes:
• Refined sugar
• Refined carbs
• Chronic stress
• Diuretics
• High blood sugar/glucose

If someone has told you that the gallbladder is not essential, you need to check this out.

Timestamps
0:00 Is the gallbladder essential?
0:33 What does the gallbladder do?
1:25 What happens when you have the gallbladder removed
1:50 Important things to know about the gallbladder

Many people don’t believe the gallbladder is essential. They say it’s an extra organ and it doesn’t do much. However, I strongly disagree with that.

The gallbladder stores bile. If there is low bile to the amount of cholesterol in the liver or the gallbladder, you can develop gallstones or liver stones. Bile can help keep the cholesterol from forming stones and clogging things up. If bile gets clogged up in the liver, it can create inflammation, fibrosis, and eventually cirrhosis. Bile is a detergent. It makes the fat more absorbable into the small intestines. Bile helps break down fats and extract certain important nutrients from the fat.

When a person has their gallbladder removed, bile is still made, and it still trickles through to the small intestines, but it’s going to be less concentrated and less regulated.

Important things to know about the gallbladder:
1. Fat-soluble vitamins are completely dependent on bile for absorption.
2. Without enough bile, you could have more constipation.
3. Bile helps extract omega-3 fatty acids from the food you eat.
4. Vitamin D and vitamin A receptors are activated by bile.
5. Bile keeps bacteria out of the small intestines.
6. Bile is necessary for the conversion of T4 to T3.
7. Bile regulates excess cholesterol.
8. Ulcers and gastritis can both be side effects of a bile deficiency.

3:13 Keto summit promo

Are you on keto, and you cannot stop losing weight? If so, this video is for you.

While many people go on keto to lose weight, there comes a time when you need to stop losing weight.

There’s a difference between fasting and starving. If you don’t have any more fat reserves to tap into, you begin to starve. As you starve, your body starts using muscle and other vital tissue as fuel.

When you’re starving, you will experience:
• A lack of energy
• Weakness
• Moodiness

If you want to stop losing weight, try these things:

1. Increase your fat. Taking MCT oil is a great way to increase your fat.
2. Increase your carbs. I usually talk about lowering carbs, but if you can’t stop losing weight, keep your carbs at the max level of 50g.
3. Increase your exercise. This will help prevent muscle loss. Keep in mind that you need time to recover.

Make sure you take plenty of vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, and amino acids while fasting to prevent starvation and nutrient deficiencies.

If you still continue losing weight, start increasing your meals per day. If you’re only doing one meal, go to two meals.

In this video, we’re going to talk about the one type of food with the highest concentration of zinc in the world.

The #1 best source of zinc is oysters. Oysters are loaded with bio-available zinc. Red meat, fish, and pumpkin seeds also contain some zinc.

25% of people are deficient in zinc. Zinc is a mineral that isn’t stored in the body—this means that you have to consume zinc-rich foods regularly to maintain sufficient zinc levels.

A zinc deficiency is difficult to diagnose—blood tests often won’t reveal a zinc deficiency. Only long-term zinc deficiencies will show up on tests.

Zinc deficiency symptoms include:
• Decreases lymphocytes
• Enlarged spleen
• Decreased response to pathogens
• Thymus atrophy
• Increased duration of infection
• Increases susceptibility to infection
• Loss of taste/smell
• Decreased wound healing.
• Low testosterone
• Increased inflammation

Aside from not consuming enough zinc-rich foods, you may also be low on zinc due to:
• Phytates (found in grains)
• Sugar
• Stress
• Infection
• Antacids (Stomach acidity helps zinc absorption)
• Malabsorption
• Liver damage
• Diabetes
• Vegan diets

Does taking too much calcium lead to kidney stones? We’re going to explore this topic in this video.

Studies show that taking around 500mg of calcium carbonate will increase your risk of developing kidney stones. Massive doses of vitamin D over many months can also cause hypercalcemia, which can contribute to kidney stones. However, neither of these are the primary causes of kidney stones.

The most common reasons for kidney stones are:

1. Kidney damage – years of bad dieting can cause poor kidney function. Try a healthy keto diet.

2. Excess oxalates – avoid oxalate-rich foods, including almonds, spinach, swiss chard, and chocolate.

3. Low citrates – take citrates or lemon juice.

4. Low fluid – stay hydrated! At least 2.5 liters each day.

5. Poor microbiome – improve your microbiome with probiotics and prebiotics (fiber).

6. Low bile – take purified bile salts if you have low bile or a missing gallbladder.
