In this video, we’re going to talk about how a hysterectomy can affect your body shape. Now, this is primarily for women who are considering a hysterectomy—you may want to think twice.

Here’s the problem: you have all kinds of ligaments that are attached to your torso, lower ribs, lower back, and pelvis that are cut. These ligaments are opposing your abdominal muscles.

When you lose this balance, it can create major weaknesses within your abdominal muscles. In turn, your stomach can collapse and fall forward, giving you the appearance of being fat.

A hysterectomy can also give you low back pain because it alters the curvature of your back. You may also experience weakness in your core.

There are many other side effects that you may experience after a hysterectomy, including:
• Low libido
• Bladder issues
• Bowel issues
• Increased risk of cardiovascular disease
• Increased risk of clots
• Depression
• Weight gain (on average, 25 lbs)
• Pain

Some people experience no symptoms at all. So before you make a decision, check with your doctor and talk about the risks.

The two top reasons for getting a hysterectomy is if you have endometriosis or fibroids.

Both of these conditions occur if you are estrogen dominant. This means that you’ll want to avoid estrogen and things that mimic estrogen.

Avoid GMO cotton, dairy, soy, and other GMO foods. You can try sea kelp and cruciferous vegetables. All of your foods should be organic.

If you’ve already had a hysterectomy, it’s a good idea to be on a keto and intermittent fasting plan. Keto and fasting will help induce autophagy, lower inflammation, and support a healthy metabolism.

In this video, I’m going to talk about what you can do to protect your brain from chronic stress.

Stress is very bad for the brain. Stress causes brain shrinkage or atrophy—especially in the hippocampus. In turn, you’re more susceptible to cognitive and memory issues. You often see this with Alzheimer’s disease patients.

There are only two parts of the brain that have the capacity to regenerate. The hippocampus is one of them, and the olfactory bulb is the other.

The hippocampus is believed to involve your short-term memory. It also can affect your ability to learn and navigate.

It just so happens that 80% of Alzheimer’s disease patients also have type 2 diabetes symptoms. It’s not just stress that shrinks the brain, but also high sugar and carb consumption.

What can you do to protect your brain from stress? Do these 6 things:
1. Take vitamin B1 regularly (nutritional yeast)
2. Get plenty of DHA/EPA (omega-3 fatty acids)
3. Take zinc
4. Do intermittent fasting
5. Do healthy keto
6. Exercise

If you have to take statins, but you’re experiencing statin side effects—you may want to try this.

0:25 Cholesterol functions

2:35 What you could do

Today, we’re going to talk about statins and statin side effects. Statins work by blocking a certain enzyme that blocks your production of cholesterol. Your liver cells make a good amount of cholesterol in your body. The cholesterol in your body is not just coming from the diet. It’s also coming from your own cells.

Cholesterol is a precursor for making bile salts. Bile salts are involved in digesting fats and absorbing fat-soluble vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids. If you don’t have enough bile salts, your risk for gallstones goes up as well as the risk of pancreatitis.

A big side effect of statins is myopathy. This is a general term for muscle disease. Another side effect is high levels of creatine kinase, which can indicate muscle wasting. Statins can also deplete CoQ10, which is an enzyme involved in giving your muscles energy.

If you’re deficient in CoQ10, you could experience:
• Muscle wasting
• Muscle weakness
• Lower back pain
• Heart failure
• And more…

Taking CoQ10 while taking statins could help diminish the symptoms of myopathy.

Bile Sludge is a Pre-Gallstone Condition

Yes, bile sludge is a real thing. Here’s what you need to know.

1:48 A deeper look at what’s going on
3:14 An important function of bile
3:33 What you could do for bile sludge

In this video, I want to explain a little bit about bile sludge. Bile sludge is a pre-gallstone state. Gallstones develop over a period of time from sludge. The sludge is a concentration of cholesterol without the thinning agent (bile).

In bile salts, there are also cholesterol crystals, calcium salts, bilirubin, sodium chloride, and mucin. When there is more cholesterol and not enough bile salts, you can start developing sludge, which can then turn into a stone. This often happens in pregnant women. If someone has a history of antibiotics or they had gastric bypass, they may be at a higher risk as well.

Bile sludge can get jammed up and stuck in the ducts, causing pressure, pain, inflammation, and other serious issues. Bile salts are detergents, and if they’re in the wrong place, this can create major irritation and side effects. One of the symptoms is pain in the right upper quadrant.

One important function of bile is the elimination of things, such as:
• Drugs
• Xenobiotics
• Toxins
• Heavy metals
• Fat-soluble poisons

What you could do if you have bile sludge:
• Start taking purified bile salts on an empty stomach
• Implement the correct diet (healthy keto)

1:22 Key points about yearly checkups
4:00 A test if you have high cholesterol

Today I want to cover a few key points about yearly checkups.

If you have a pre-existing problem with the thyroid, for example, or maybe you have an autoimmune disease, you’re probably going to be doing advanced thyroid testing or liver testing. If you have diabetes, you might have the A1C test.

If you’re a prediabetic or a diabetic, you may want to get the HOMA-IR test. HOMA-IR is a test to determine if you have insulin resistance or not. Ideally, it would be great to get the HOMA-IR test before you start keto to see where you’re at, and then get the same test afterward to see your improvement. But, if you’ve already started keto and intermittent fasting and you’re doing great, you don’t really need to get the HOMA-IR test.

A few tests you may want to consider getting at your yearly checkup:
1. Omega 3/6 ratio (you can do this at home with a kit)
2. CBC (complete blood count)
3. Basic metabolic panel
4. CAC (coronary artery calcium scoring)
5. Vitamin D test

If you have high cholesterol, a good test to get may be the advanced lipid test. This is where they look at the size of the particles, and they look deeper at the types of lipoproteins that you have.
