0:20 COVID-19 mutation

In this short video, we’re going to talk about mutations and COVID-19 mutation.

In the news, they’re talking about how COVID-19 (the coronavirus) is a deadly virus that’s mutating and becoming more dangerous over time. I don’t believe this is true.

A mutation is a change in the genetic code of something. COVID-19 does not appear to mutate significantly. With COVID-19, there could potentially be 2-6 mutations per month. The flu actually has 4-12 mutations per month.

• COVID-19 is relatively stable (it’s less likely to become more dangerous as it spreads)

• The bulk of mutations of COVID-19 don’t change how it functions.

Speed Up Digestion

Here’s what you need to know about your digestive tract and how to speed up digestion.

6:05 Breaking down the digestive tract—P.N.S

In this video, we’re going to talk about how to speed up your digestion. If you have constipation, indigestion, gas, bloating, or stomach pain, this video is for you. I’m actually going to break down each part of your digestive tract and explain a little bit about it.

Breaking down the digestive tract:

Stomach —
Acid is the key thing in your stomach. It helps you break down protein, absorb certain minerals, and kill pathogens. Many people do not have enough strong acid in their stomach.

To support healthy stomach acid levels, consider:
• Hydrochloric acid (betaine hydrochloride)
• Salt
• Potassium
• Apple cider vinegar
• Kombucha tea

Consider avoiding:
• Antacids
• Calcium carbonate

Bile —
Bile is made by the liver and stored in the gallbladder. Bile helps you break down fats. Supporting bile production can also help with bloating and belching.

To support bile production, consider:
• Bile salts
• Beet tops
• Ginger
• Artichokes
• Lemon
• Milk thistle
• Choline

Consider avoiding:
• Decreasing friendly bacteria
• Taking out the gallbladder if possible
• A fatty liver situation

Enzymes —
A lot of enzymes are produced by your pancreas. Your small intestine, stomach, and microbes in your intestines can also make certain enzymes. Enzymes help you break down carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Heat destroys enzymes.

To support enzymes, consider:
• Taking a blend of enzymes
• Consuming more raw foods

Consider avoiding:
• Too many cooked foods
• Pasteurized foods

Flora —
This is your friendly bacteria. Most of the flora in your body are in your large intestine.

To support your flora, consider:
• Taking a probiotic
• Consuming prebiotic foods (vegetable fiber)

Consider avoiding:
• Frequent antibiotic use if possible
• GMO foods

P.N.S —
Your parasympathetic nervous system is all about rest and digestion.

To support and stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, consider:
• Lowering stress
• Increasing B1
• Increasing potassium
• Increasing magnesium

Is Sweden Doing the Right Strategy with COVID-19?

The strategy being used against the coronavirus in Sweden is very different than the strategies being used in other parts of the world, regarding COVID-19. Could they have the right idea?

2:06 The second wave of infection

Today we’re going to talk about how Sweden’s strategy regarding COVID-19. In Sweden, they aren’t under any lockdowns or quarantines.

In Sweden:
• The healthcare system is not at full capacity
• The schools are open
• The restaurants are open
• They are practicing social distancing
• They have banned groups of over 50

Sweden has the lowest number of ICU beds in all of the Nordic countries. It also appears that the number of deaths per day from the coronavirus in Sweden has gone down.

Herd immunity is basically a situation where there are enough people exposed to a virus to build immunity against that specific pathogen.

There are these things called B cells that are apart of the acquired immune system, and they make antibodies. Antibodies are very specific to a certain microbe. For example, when your body makes antibodies to COVID-19, they will wait until the next time you’re infected with COVID-19, and they will neutralize specific microbes associated with it.

The theory is that with herd immunity, there will not be a massive spread of the virus. People become infected, then immune. They make antibodies, and then things are back to the way they were again.

What Sweden tried to do was avoid the second wave of infection. The rest of the world that’s under lockdown will eventually have the lockdown lifted. Then, people are exposed to the virus again, and there could be a second wave of infection.

Should we keep going with this cycle?

Today we’re going to talk about an interesting connection between MCT oil and candida. MCT stands for medium-chain triglycerides. This is a type of fat in coconut oil. There are several things in coconut oil that are anti-fungal and antimicrobial. MCT can potentially reduce candida in the body.

Candida normally lives in the body and doesn’t create much harm. But, an overgrowth of candida can start causing problems. Candida is a cousin to mold and is related to fungus.

An overgrowth of candida can cause:

• White tongue
• Burning mouth
• Cotton mouth
• Dry cracked skin in the corners of the mouth
• Bad taste in the mouth
• Fatigue
• Lowered nutrients (B6, Essential Fatty-Acids, Magnesium, Iron, Vitamin A)

Candida overgrowth can occur after a person takes antibiotics, or after doing something that destroys the gut flora.

Candida, mold, fungus, and yeast all live on carbohydrates. Cutting out sugar and lowering carbohydrates, as in the keto diet, could starve off candida.

Candida remedies:

1. MCT oil
2. Fasting
3. Keto
4. Molybdenum

2:33 Zinc deficiencies—Ventilator-induced injury
3:24 What to know about a zinc deficiency

Today we’re going to talk about the effects of zinc on your respiratory system. There is a significant connection between zinc, the immune system, and especially your lungs.

Potential situations that could occur if you’re deficient in zinc:

• Increased duration of lung infections
• Diminished T cell function
• Increased cytokines
• Increased risk of lung infections
• People with conditions like COPD are typically deficient in zinc
• Increased risk for ARDS, upper respiratory infections, and lower respiratory infections
• Increased susceptibility of the lungs to ventilator-induced injury

If you have a lung infection, your body is going to be using so much zinc that chances are you could become deficient. The infection itself can cause a depletion of zinc, and then you lose more of the ability to fight the infection.

4:18 Trace minerals and dry hair

Today we’re going to talk about hair loss and trace minerals. If you’re deficient in trace minerals, you could be losing your hair—but why?

What is a trace mineral?
A trace mineral is a mineral that’s needed in very tiny (or trace) amounts. Trace minerals are helper nutrients in enzymes and proteins.

In your cells, you have tiny biological machines, which are proteins and enzymes. Those little proteins do the work of the body. They build certain body tissue, they break things down, and they are involved in all sorts of biochemistry.

Important trace minerals for hair:

1. Iron
If you’re anemic and you’re deficient in iron, one symptom can be hair loss.

2. Silicon
Silicon helps with the structure of your hair.

3. Zinc
If you’re deficient in zinc, you could develop male pattern baldness.

4. Copper
Copper is involved with the color of your hair and building collagen.

5. Selenium
This is one of the most powerful antioxidants.

These trace minerals can help with:
• Making protein
• Hair length
• Hair integrity
• Hair growth

Alopecia could be due to a deficiency in:
• B3
• Biotin
• Vitamin E
• Selenium
• Vitamin A

If you have dry hair, you may need essential fatty acids. It could also be that you can’t digest the fats because of a gallbladder problem, a missing gallbladder, or a lack of bile salts. Or, you may not have enough good bacteria to recycle bile.

COVID-19: Latitude, Mortality and Vitamin D

1:02 An interesting report
1:40 Vitamin D and COVID-19

Today we’re going to talk about the relationship between COVID-19, mortality, vitamin D, and latitude.

There are actually all sorts of diseases related to latitude. For example, if you live in the northern hemisphere, you have a higher risk of getting:

• Colorectal cancer
• MS
• Diabetes type 1
• Breast cancer
• Celiac disease
• Lung cancer

An interesting report states that “low population mortality from COVID-19 in countries south of latitude 35 degrees north supports vitamin D as a factor determining severity.” Nordic countries are an exception likely because they consume a lot of fatty fish and take vitamin D supplements.

Vitamin D regulates and suppresses inflammatory cytokines. Vitamin D doesn’t kill the virus, but it can help suppress cytokines, respiratory macrophages, and ARDS.

You can also see lower vitamin D levels in people who have conditions that can increase the risk of death from COVID-19, such as:

• Hypertension
• Obesity
• Diabetes
• Cardiovascular disease

Vitamin D is incredibly important to support the immune system and for suppressing inflammation in the respiratory system.

Hydroxychloroquine’s New Study Causes Higher Death Rates BUT…

The recent study on hydroxychloroquine demonstrating a higher death rate is not telling us the whole picture. Here’s what you really need to know.

1:20 What is hydroxychloroquine?
2:23 A deeper look at the study

Today we’re going to talk about a certain study that has been circulating the news regarding hydroxychloroquine.

According to the news, this study found that hydroxychloroquine was not effective and was even associated with a higher death rate.

• This study wasn’t even published yet.
• This study wasn’t peer-reviewed.
• This study was a retrospective study.

A retrospective study means that they’re using data or events that happened in the past. This was done in a VA hospital. They took the data from the patient’s charts and summarized it. This study included 368 patients, and they compared three groups of patients.

The first group was treated with hydroxychloroquine. The second group was treated with hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin. The third group was not treated with hydroxychloroquine.

Hydroxychloroquine is an ionophore. It allows zinc to travel inside the cell. If there’s enough zinc in the cell, this can potentially inhibit the machinery that’s causing the replication of the virus. It sounds promising, especially when combined with zinc. In this study, they did not use zinc. Vitamin D was also not involved. Vitamin D is incredibly important in supporting the immune system and inhibiting cytokine storm.

Each of the groups in the study is very different. Severe cases of COVID-19, as in the first two groups, require hydroxychloroquine. Less severe cases do not, as in the last group.

This study emphasized that the group that wasn’t treated with hydroxychloroquine had 18 deaths versus 27 deaths in the group treated only with hydroxychloroquine.

Without understanding this study, it appears that the drug could make you worse. But, in reality, the groups treated with hydroxychloroquine were much sicker than the group that wasn’t.

What Is a Lymph Node?

1:37 What’s inside a lymph node?
4:50 What happens in the lymph node
5:25 What can cause issues with the lymphatic system?

In this video, we’re going to talk about lymph nodes and your immune system.

You can think of the lymphatic system as a back-up drainage system to prevent excess fluid retention. But, this is just a minor function. The big function is the activation of the immune system.

One of the purposes of the lymph nodes is to keep a pathogen from spreading throughout the body. You will have an entire war going on within the lymph nodes if there is a pathogenic microbe.

A person has hundreds of lymph nodes throughout the body. Inside of a lymph node, there are lymphocytes. There are three primary lymphocytes:

1. Natural killer cells (kill viral-infected cells)
2. T cells (kill specific microbes and determine self from non-self)
3. B cells (make antibodies)

Inside of the lymph node:
• There are a lot of antibody reactions going on
• The immune system presents tiny parts of pathogens to the T cells
• There is a lot of lymph-blood exchange
• It filters certain cancer cells

The spleen is the largest lymph node. When someone has their spleen out, they have an increased risk of infection. Chronic stress activates cortisol, which then can shrink the lymphatic system. A zinc deficiency is another thing that can cause issues with the spleen and the entire lymphatic system.

2:36 A few more things that could cause hunger and cravings on keto
3:20 Are you craving salt?

In this video, I want to talk about why you might still have cravings and feel hungry while on keto and intermittent fasting.

If you’re following the exact healthy ketogenic diet plan, your cravings will go down to zero, and your hunger will go down to zero. When you’re doing the right program, your body has converted 100% to the state of ketosis. Any glucose your body needs it can make itself. You do not need to consume sugar or carbs.

If you’re hungry or craving something, think back to what you ate yesterday. Was there anything you ate that you shouldn’t have? Did you eat keto-friendly foods that have maltodextrin or tapioca? Even fruit or dates could create hunger and cravings the next day.

The cause behind cravings on keto or hunger while fasting is almost always that the person had too many carbs the day before. If you stay consistent each day, your hunger and cravings will go down. Once your hunger and cravings do inevitably go away, this diet is very sustainable.

A few more things that could cause hunger and cravings on keto:
• Stress
• Poor sleep

COVID-19: Is It as Deadly as They Say?

2:44 COVID-19 fatality rates

Today we’re going to talk about the infection fatality rate of COVID-19. The infection fatality rate is basically the percentage of how many people who were infected with COVID-19 died. It’s the number of infections divided by the deaths from the infection.

Recent evidence indicates that COVID-19 may not be as deadly as previously thought. This really has to do with a lack of testing.

It was thought that about 1 million people were infected with COVID-19. But, new evidence suggests that this number is way too low by a factor of 10x, and possibly even up to 30x.

The coronavirus has a goal of getting into the cell and quickly doing damage. Once the virus is in the cell, the immune system doesn’t know it’s in there until after it replicates, and it comes out of the cell. Then, the immune system starts to attack the virus, and there is an immune reaction. At this point, B cells start making antibodies to COVID-19.

Let’s say you overcame an infection, and you get tested for it. They’re not going to find the virus, but they will find antibodies to the virus. It has been found that a lot more people had the infection, overcame it, and developed antibodies without ending up in the hospital or having any significant problems. This new information creates a completely different picture of the infection fatality rate.

Use Forest Bathing for Immune Boosting

Today we’re going to talk about using forest bathing to boost the immune system. Forest bathing was used in Japan in the 80s for physical and mental health. It’s about getting out in nature and taking in the forest atmosphere.

Basically, you’re out in the forest, and you’re breathing in certain chemicals or essential oils from the trees. There seems to be a very interesting immune benefit from being exposed to certain essential oils emitted from the trees in the forest. The group of compounds we’re talking about is called phytoncides.

This chemical could significantly increase your natural killer cells. The natural killer cells are a part of the innate immune system, and they do several things. They will actually punch a hole into cells that have been infected by viruses and destroy the cell and the virus inside of it.

Different studies have also found that diffusing the essential oils with the same chemical in the home could provide benefits.

Forest bathing could potentially provide not only immune benefits but stress lowering benefits as well. It’s incredibly important to do what you can to strengthen your immune system. This could be a fantastic, natural, and inexpensive way to do that.

Are You Turning into a Germophobe?

Are you becoming a germophobe? I’m not against protecting yourself against the coronavirus or any virus for that matter. Yes, masks and washing your hands are incredibly important. But, here’s the thing, not all microbes are harmful.

Friendly microbes are not pathogenic. Pathogens are microbes that can cause disease. A huge part of your immune system is friendly microbes. These microbes live all over your body on the inside and out. When you over-sterilize your body, this can lower your immune system and make you more susceptible to infections.

A few benefits of your friendly microbes:

• Certain microbes make acid that makes a pathogen not want to live in that environment.
• Friendly microbes make vitamins to support your immune system.
• Friendly microbes have anti-tumor properties.

In some studies done on mice, they found that mice without any microbial life were more prone to autoimmune diseases, allergies, asthma, and other health issues.

Your skin flora is very necessary to protect you—it’s an immune defense. When you alter this microbiome, you basically throw the body out of balance, and you could develop inflammatory conditions.

Over-sterilization can also lead to a decrease in T cells, which are important in preventing inflammatory reactions throughout the body.

Even sterilized food (pasteurized food) goes through a process that kills off everything, including enzymes. These sterilized foods can potentially weaken the immune system.

In this video, we’re going to talk about absent-mindedness and how to improve absent-mindedness.

Absent-mindedness is basically a lack of awareness. If you’re absent-minded, you might be forgetful and easily distracted. It could be happening because your brain cells are tired and starving for energy.

Your neurons are normally dependent on glucose or lactate for fuel. But, when you consume those fuels, they have a side-effect. They can potentially cause cognitive dysfunction and absent-mindedness.

But, your body can use another type of fuel called ketones. Ketones suppress glucose utilization. If there are ketones and glucose in your blood, your brain will use ketones instead of glucose.

A simple solution to bypass a damaged nerve cell is to start increasing ketones. Ketones can feed the neurons what they need to function. They also affect the potassium channels, which can increase the communication between neurons.

You can generate ketones by lowering your carbohydrates below 50g. You also may need to increase the time you fast. You would want to do at least 18 hours of fasting with a 6-hour eating window. You may also want to add exogenous ketones. A great form of exogenous ketones is MCT oil.

How to overcome absent-mindedness:

1. Sleep
2. Stop thinking so much
3. Support your gut microbiome
4. Ketones

6:17 About trace minerals
6:52 Dosage

Today I want to introduce you to my new product called Trace Minerals Enhanced. I did have a trace mineral product in the past that was a liquid, but this is a new and improved version. The old product, being a liquid, could get messy. I also wanted to add some additional trace minerals to this product to make it even better.

The most important trace mineral that I wanted to add in a higher amount is zinc. But, if you take one trace mineral over a long period of time without the other trace minerals with it, this can cause deficiencies in the other trace minerals. So, I added a few key trace minerals in a blend of all of the other trace minerals. There are over 74 trace minerals in this product.

Trace minerals are minerals needed in very small amounts. They are cofactors in the biochemistry of the body. You have different enzymes that are proteins that are building tissues, breaking food down, and are involved in the different chemical reactions. Trace minerals are essential in those chemical reactions.

Consider taking 1-2 capsules per day on an empty stomach.

Here are a few of the trace minerals that I added to my Trace Minerals Enhanced product:

Zinc:
• Supports a healthy immune system
• Is needed for vitamin A to be utilized in the body
• Is involved in epithelial tissue integrity
• Is involved in skin, reproduction, and the immune system

Manganese:
• Is important in strengthening ligaments
• Is involved in bone formation, cartilage, different enzymes, and the immune system

Copper:
• Is involved in making collagen
• Supports a healthy immune system
• Supports ligaments

Iodine:
• Supports a healthy thyroid
• Helps in the formation of thyroid hormones
• Supports estrogen balance

Selenium:
• One of the most important antioxidants
• Is very important in converting thyroid hormones
• Is helpful in buffering excess amounts of mercury
• Supports the immune system
• Can help prevent muscle cramping

Boron:
• Supports bone health
• Is involved in building testosterone
• May help reduce pain

Chromium:
• Supports the cells that make insulin
• Is involved in stabilizing mood and reducing stress

Molybdenum:
• Is involved in detoxification
• Could potentially help lower uric acid

Fasting During Ramadan and Huge Immune Benefits

Check out these interesting immune benefits of fasting during Ramadan.

Today we’re going to talk about the relationship between fasting during Ramadan, and it’s immune effects.

Ramadan lasts between 29 and 30 days. During Ramadan, you’re required to not eat or drink anything from just before sunrise to just after sunset. This is a dry fast, which means you’re not drinking any water.

What you eat before and after you fast is going to make or break your success. Having junk food or refined carbohydrates before and after your fast could inhibit some of the effects you could achieve from fasting. However, low-carb, keto-friendly foods may be much more beneficial to have during your meals. Ketones are even anti-microbial.

Benefits of fasting:

• Decreased cytokines
• Increased macrophages
• Increase the microbiome
• Increased resistance to stress
• Decrease in oxidative stress
• Increased autophagy and xenophagy

Autoimmune Condition and Vitamin D

2:42 Regulatory T cells and vitamin D
3:20 What to do

Today we’re going to talk about the huge connection between vitamin D and autoimmune diseases.

The thymus gland is an immune gland that produces a very specific T cell called the T regulatory cell or T suppressor cell. One of the main jobs of this important T cell is to prevent autoimmune diseases.

An autoimmune disease is tissue that has antibodies against itself. It’s an inappropriate immune response.

One of the main functions of a T regulatory cell is something called central tolerance—tolerating the body tissue and not attacking it.

A big function of the thymus gland is determining the self from a foreign enemy or pathogen. If it finds an immune cell that’s going to self-attack, it will execute it.

The T regulatory cell:

• Inhibits inappropriate autoimmune responses
• Is being used as a treatment in certain autoimmune diseases

If you don’t have the T regulatory cell function, your risk for allergies, asthma, and miscarriage goes up.

T regulatory cells majorly need vitamin D. A vitamin D deficiency can also potentially cause a miscarriage or other problems with the baby, because of how vitamin D feeds this T cell.

If you have an autoimmune disease, you may want to consider taking high amounts of vitamin D, because vitamin D is an anti-inflammatory nutrient. T regulatory cells are anti-inflammatory as well. They are also immunosuppressive—they keep the immune system in balance.

3:52 Vitamin D

In this video, I want to share something really important about the immune system. To help you understand this point, I’m going to relate it to how HIV destroys the immune system.

HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus. This virus causes something called acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. This is a broadly named condition that can create a lot of problems. Mainly, you lose your immune system.

This virus has a unique strategy of attacking the helper T cell. By doing this, it basically knocks out the rest of your army.

The T helper cell is one of the T cells, and it’s the most important immune cell. It’s required for all adaptive responses.

HIV will fuse with the T helper cell and then start taking over the DNA and reproducing. This completely wipes out your T cells. Now, you basically don’t have much of an immune system anymore.

Your T helper cells:
• Activates and grows your killer T cells
These cells are dedicated to killing viruses

• Maximizes the killing power of the macrophages
Macrophages are cells that eat viruses and bacteria

• Activate B cells
B cells make antibodies that help neutralize chemical reactions

If you wipe out the T helper cell, you won’t get any of the above actions either.

There is a nutrient that can keep T helper cells strong. This nutrient is vitamin D. If you’re deficient in vitamin D, your T helper cells will be suppressed. Vitamin D is crucial in immune function.
