Belinda’s Testimonial

Belinda woke up one day, about 5 years ago, to find that she couldn’t move her neck, and she was in excruciating pain. Doctors diagnosed her with spinal canal stenosis, and the prognosis involved further degeneration, at best. Belinda eventually found Dr. Joe’s books, attended a couple of Week Long Retreats, and began meditating every day. She had a profound healing experience participating as a healee in one of the Coherence Healing sessions. But Belinda didn’t fully heal until she really began focusing on her neck at home in her daily meditations (Tuning Into New Potentials). Subsequent scans show no signs of the stenosis.

Recorded at the Malta Advanced Week Long Retreat in November 2019.

The Sodium-Potassium Ratio is More Important Than a Low Sodium Diet

Having the right sodium-potassium ratio is crucial. Here’s why.

2:36 A summary

In this video, I want to talk about the sodium-potassium ratio we need.

Typically people think of sodium as dangerous. But, is it the higher amount of sodium, or the deficiency of potassium that has caused problems for people?

A few of the potential health benefits of potassium are:

• It may be protective against strokes
• It may be protective for the kidneys and heart
• It may help lower blood pressure

*What’s even more important than these two minerals is the ratio they come in.

Normally you would need 4700 milligrams for potassium, and 2300 milligrams for sodium. An average person has these ratios flipped, which can get them into trouble.

Ideally, the ratio would be 2:1. But, if there’s already an imbalance, or you have a problem with the heart or blood pressure—I would raise the potassium to 3:1 or even 4:1.

The more sodium you have in your diet, the lower the potassium you have. There may be more sodium in different foods than you realize. There can also be hidden carbs. Carbohydrates will deplete potassium.

The sodium used in carbohydrates is not in the form of sea salt, which means you don’t get all of the other minerals involved.

MSG is additional sodium that is not factored into the label of some foods.

Will eating more fat knock me out of ketosis? The answer is no.

Dietary fat and ketosis will help:
• Boost your energy levels
• Fight off hunger and cravings
• Improve your mood
• Enhance your cognition and memory

Keto is a high-fat diet that consists of about 70% of your calories in fat. You need healthy fats to stay in ketosis.

However, there are some reasons why you may not want to consume too much fat.

One reason is that it may slow down or stall your weight loss.

If you consume more calories in fat than you can burn, then your body won’t start converting your own body fat into ketones. Instead, it will only convert your dietary fat into ketones.

If you’re worried about not losing weight, I recommend that you cut out things like MCT oil, coconut oil, and extra fats like butter.

You can also increase your exercise and fast for longer to burn some of your dietary fat and help you lose weight.

Today, we’re going to talk about restless leg syndrome.

What is restless leg syndrome?
Restless leg syndrome is very uncomfortable and keeps you from sleeping. You have an impulse to fidget, and you feel like you can’t be still.

What causes restless leg syndrome?
• A deficiency of vitamin B1 (thiamine)

What can influence this condition:

1. KREB cycle (ATP production)
2. Pentose phosphate pathway (nerve atrophy)
3. Acetylcholine
4. Low dopamine

Similar conditions to restless leg syndrome:

• Motor restlessness
• Akathisia
• Tardive dyskinesia
• ADHD (take B1, zinc, folate, EPA)

Refined carbs and sugar can cause a vitamin B1 deficiency.

The best source of natural vitamin B1 is nutritional yeast.

In this video, we’re going to talk about what causes excessive sneezing.

What is sneezing?
You have little receptors in your sinuses that are on a circuit that goes deep into the brain stem that triggers a reflex that then goes to your diaphragm, lungs, and chest muscles. This creates a synchronized breath in and then an explosion of air out to clean out the sinuses.

5 weird causes of excessive sneezing:

1. Birth control pills
2. Liver/gallbladder
3. Sun—photic sneeze reflex
4. Underactive thyroid
5. Overeating

A more common cause of excessive sneezing is perfume. Perfume can contain chemicals that are very toxic. You may want to avoid using perfume or try using essential oils instead.

When it comes to causes of fever that are related to an infection and virus, antibiotics are not going to work. People jump to antibiotics and then can develop antibiotic resistance.

The best thing to do if you have a fever is to sweat, which will increase the temperature and speed up the process of killing off the microbe. If this doesn’t help, calcium lactate can also help speed things up.

But, what about a fever with no infection?

Different non-infection causes of fever:

1. Autoimmune conditions
2. Trauma
3. Inflammatory condition
4. Sudden shock
5. Antibiotics
6. Stroke
7. Brain tumor

In this video, we’re going to talk about intermittent hypoxic training (IHT).

What is intermittent hypoxic training?
Intermittent hypoxic training is a training or therapy, very similar to training in high altitudes. You’re intermittently giving your body lower amounts of oxygen. If you cut down the oxygen too low for too long, it could be dangerous.

By giving your body little doses of hypoxia, which is a lack of oxygen, you can create an amazing adaptation. You’re giving a small amount of stress intermittently to cause the body to rebound, adapt, and become even stronger.

Intermittent hypoxic training benefits:

1. Improved performance
2. May help with chronic lung disease
3. May help with bronchial asthma
4. May help with hypertension
5. May help with diabetes
6. May help with brain damage
7. May help with radiation toxicity
8. Increases your antioxidant network
9. Increases the number of mitochondria
10. May increase the number and size of red blood cells
11. Helps release excessive amounts of calcium from the cell
12. Increases oxygen to the tissues
13. Decreases oxidative stress

How to do intermittent hypoxic training:

• You can get intermittent hypoxic training equipment such as a small mask that fits over your nose and mouth. The mask restricts air and has different settings that will simulate different altitudes. You may start at 3,000 ft and slowly work your way up to 19,000 ft.

• There is another way where you’re on a bicycle, and you’re breathing in a less amount of oxygen and more nitrogen.

• One pattern might look like 3-5 minutes of hypoxic air, where you’re breathing more CO2. Then, 2-5 minutes of ambient air (normal air). You do this back and forth for about 45 minutes.

• You can get a pulse oximeter, which will measure the amount of oxygen in your blood.

In this video, we’re going to talk about estrogen and meat. Can meat spike estrogen?

Pre-puberty boys are the most susceptible to the adverse effects of excess dietary estrogen. A young boy makes about 100 mcg of estrogen a day.

One kg of beef contains less than .02 mcg of estrogen. You would have to consume 50-100 pounds of beef to get just one mcg of estrogen. Meat does not spike estrogen.

Can milk spike estrogen? Yes, milk can spike estrogen. If you’re going to give milk to a child, give them organic grass-fed milk. A better thing to give them instead of milk would be grass-fed organic cheese.

People who have any type of problem with the prostate, breasts, uterus, or ovaries should consider avoiding milk.

Can soy spike estrogen? There is conflicting data concerning soy and estrogen.

Endocrine disrupters are chemicals in the environment like pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides. These chemicals mimic estrogen.

What to do for low estrogen levels:

1. Cholesterol—you do not want to do a low-fat diet. You want to do the ketogenic diet, which is a higher fat diet.
2. Boron
3. Herbal remedies (black cohosh, fennel, wild yam, Pueraria mirifica)
4. Fasting and a low-carb diet
5. Vitamin E
6. Adjust your stress levels (lower stress)
7. Adjust your exercise (make sure you’re not overtraining)
