In this video, we’re going to talk about cheese as a probiotic. When you think about natural probiotics, yogurt and kefir probably come to mind—but you may not have considered cheese.

Is cheese a good probiotic? In fact, cheese can be a great probiotic—if you consume the right cheese.

Your body has about 100-trillion microbes. There’s a constant battle between the good and bad bacteria. Antibiotics and poor eating habits can bad microbes the upper hand.

Cheese has live cultures (microorganisms) that can help support your gut’s microbial balance. Unlike yogurt and kefir, cheese contains very little sugar (lactose). Cheese also contains a lot of healthy nutrients such as protein and calcium.

The cheeses that contain the most probiotics are those that are aged cheeses that aren’t heated. Keep an eye out for raw milk cheeses—these are the ones that you want.

Make sure the cheese you buy is organic and from grass-fed cows. I personally prefer European cheeses over American cheeses.

Soft cheese has more friendly bacteria than hard cheese.

Here are some cheeses you should try:
• Cheddar
• Parmesan
• Swiss
• Gruyere
• Gouda (best probiotic cheese)

Keep in mind that you should consume only a moderate amount of cheese. Cheese can contain hormones that may affect your prostate or contribute to fibroids in high amounts. Don’t over-do it, and you should be fine.

Today we’re going to talk about a very deadly mushroom that you want to avoid eating, as well as the antidote. The most deadly mushroom is the death cap mushroom.

There is a specific chemical in this mushroom that can block RNA. RNA is like the template that helps build proteins—almost like the blueprints for building a house. If you don’t have blueprints, things can’t be built or repaired.

This chemical goes directly to the liver. Within 12-24 hours after consumption, a person will likely experience acute symptoms like digestive problems. Within the next 12-24 hours, the person will typically feel better. But, 24-48 hours later, the person could potentially experience a coma or death. Consuming just one half of this mushroom is enough to kill an adult. The liver is constantly repairing. But, the chemical in this mushroom stops the repair action of the liver.

Overall, the best thing to do is to go to the hospital and get your stomach pumped. But, there are also potential antidotes for this poison, including activated carbon and milk thistle. The combination of milk thistle and NAC could potentially be the best antidote.

In this video, we’re going to talk about chlorophyll and the effect it has on your gut. Chlorophyll is in vegetables. The average American consumes about one and a half cups of vegetables per day. I believe people may need to consume between 7 and 10 cups of vegetables per day.

Chlorophyll is like the blood of the plant. It’s the green plant pigment. There are some interesting potential healing properties in chlorophyll. The chemistry of chlorophyll is actually very similar to our blood, but chlorophyll has magnesium, and our blood has iron.

When you have gut issues, consuming certain greens can irritate the colon. There are different chemicals in vegetables, like lectin, that can irritate the gut lining. The fiber in vegetables can also be an issue for certain gut problems.

But, juicing greens that are low in lectins and oxalates or a green juice powder (wheatgrass juice powder) without the fiber could give you the chlorophyll you need without the potential problems. Chlorophyll can be a great therapy for the gut as long as the lectins are on the low side and there’s no fiber.

Benefits of chlorophyll for gut issues:
1. It may help improve or restore dysfunction in the tight junctions

2. It can support enterocytes (intestinal cells)

3. It may help slow down the formation of fibrous tissue (fibrosis) and cirrhosis in the liver

4. It can act as a powerful anti-inflammatory

Chlorophyll may also help support the:
• Microbiome
• Mucus layer
• Intestinal permeability

Timestamps
0:00 Diabetes and alcohol
0:20 Why diabetes and alcohol are a bad combination
2:14 What you could do
3:00 Bulletproof your immune system (free course!)

Today we’re going to talk about diabetes and alcohol and why they are a bad combo. All it takes is a small amount of alcohol to really throw off your blood sugars in a big way. Sugary wine, cocktails, margaritas, or beer can especially have an effect on your blood sugar levels.

If you’re a prediabetic, alcohol could push you faster into becoming a diabetic. Alcohol affects the cells of the pancreas, and you can lose the function of insulin. If there is a loss of function of insulin, there’s no more regulation of blood sugars. This can cause your blood sugar levels to go up.

Alcohol can also deplete the body of vitamin B1. Vitamin B1 is important to help prevent lactic acidosis, which can occur if you’re a diabetic. One of the potential side effects of Metformin is a vitamin B1 deficiency. Lactic acidosis is a risk factor of Metformin. The higher the sugars (from your blood sugars or from the diet), the more vitamin B1 you may need.

Alcohol can also be created from GMO corn, rice, GMO beet sugar, or other grains.

When you drink alcohol, the stored sugar (glycogen) in your liver will not be as available to you. This could mean that you’re going to need more medication because your blood sugars will not be as regulated. You could also lose the ability to detoxify alcohol if you’re a diabetic. As far as the pancreas, you could have increased or decreased insulin.

A few things you could do:
1. Avoid alcohol
2. Only drink alcohol with meals (if you can’t avoid it altogether)
3. Avoid sugary drinks
4. Take vitamin B1 (nutritional yeast)
5. Try kombucha tea instead as an alternative to alcohol

Today I’m going to cover the interesting benefits of a long walk, especially for anxiety and depression.

Potential benefits of taking long walks on a regular basis:
• It can help improve circulation
• It can help your heart to become more efficient
• It provides more oxygen to your brain (which may improve cognitive function)
• It can promote weight loss
• It can give you energy
• It can enhance sleep
• It can improve your joints
• It can improve endurance
• It can help your blood sugars
• It can help reduce stress

Every day, we go through massive amounts of stress. Long walks may be one of the best things you can do to undo mental stress. It can increase oxygen, but at the same time, it’s a low-stress exercise. It can decrease cortisol and support the parasympathetic nervous system. It can also help improve your mood. I find taking long walks, getting out into nature, and getting space to be very helpful in extracting mental stress that accumulates throughout the day.

Taking a long walk for 30-60 minutes, or even longer, on a daily basis may help provide some of these incredible benefits.

Today we’re going to talk about how to use MCT oil. MCT oil is a type of fat that is unique in that it can quickly turn into ketones through the liver. It doesn’t depend on the gallbladder, enzymes, or a good part of the digestive system, so it’s very efficient.

Benefits of MCT oil:
• It can help you fast longer
• It can give your brain and heart more energy
• It can give you more energy while you exercise

When you first start taking MCT oil, you have to be careful not to take too much. If you take too much, you may have nausea, abdominal cramping, or diarrhea. You may want to start out taking 1 teaspoon per day and slowly work your way up to 2-4 tablespoons.

How to use MCT oil:
1. Add MCT oil to your diet while fasting to help you fast longer (especially if you’re new to fasting)
2. Add MCT oil to your coffee or tea
3. Take MCT oil 30 minutes before you work out
4. Put MCT oil in your salad dressing
5. Put MCT oil in your guacamole
6. Put MCT oil in your nut butter
7. Put MCT oil in keto fat bombs
8. Cook with MCT oil (don’t heat it over 320 degrees)
9. Take it while you take certain fat-soluble vitamins to enhance the absorption of the vitamins (vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K)

1:52 Bulletproof your immune system (free course!)

In this video, I’m going to cover the foods you may need to avoid if you have herpes type 1 or type 2. What you’re trying to avoid are foods high in arginine. You would want to consume foods that are high in L-lysine. L-lysine can potentially help put this virus into remission.

This virus can be triggered by too much stress, too much sun, or a low immune system. About 95% of the adult population has this virus. It can go into remission and out of remission depending on various factors.

Top foods to avoid if you have herpes:
• Nuts
• Seeds
• Berries
• Grains
• Beans
• Tofu
• Gelatin
• Eggs

Foods you can eat if you have herpes:
• Fish
• Seafood
• Chicken
• Beef
• Lamb
• Cheese
• Veggies
• Sprouts

If you need to eat foods like nuts, seeds, or berries, you may want to take L-lysine at the same time. This is an amino acid. If the condition is intense, you may want to take 3,000mg of L-lysine. As a preventative, you would need a much smaller amount.

In this video, we’re going to talk about the health benefits of cruciferous sprouts.

We’re primarily talking about broccoli and cauliflower sprouts in this video. You can grow these at home in 3 days without sun or soil.

Cruciferous sprouts contain 100 times the amount of sulforaphane as adult plant counterparts.

This phytonutrient can help increase your resistance to cancer. They induce carcinogen-detoxifying enzymes. Sprouts can also promote selective apoptosis.

Studies show that sprouts are highly effective at lowering incidences of breast tumor cells.

Other research shows that they can help protect against H. Pylori and gastritis.

Add some cruciferous sprouts to your salad or smoothy, or eat them on their own. These incredible superfoods are worth adding to your shopping list.

Try cauliflower or broccoli sprouts, and let me know how you like them in the comments below.

Have you found that you sleep better in a cold room? Here’s why.

1:11 A few things that can affect sleep
1:45 Melatonin benefits
2:17 A few things that affect melatonin
3:10 Bulletproof your immune system (free course!)

Today we’re going to cover why people typically sleep better in a cold room. The temperature in your environment affects the hormone melatonin. Melatonin is a sleep hormone. Cool temperatures can increase melatonin, and melatonin can cause your body to run cooler at night. Melatonin is also affected by light. When it’s dark out, melatonin increases and helps you fall asleep.

If you have sleep problems or you want to help improve your sleep quality, you may want to try adjusting your room temperature to 60-68 degrees Fahrenheit (15-20 degrees Celsius) at night.

A few things that can affect sleep:
• Memory foam mattresses can contain heat. You may want to get a different mattress or get a gel topper to help keep it cool.
• Fans can help keep it cool.
• Keeping your feet out of the covers may also help keep you cool.

Potential benefits of melatonin:
1. It can help you fall asleep quicker
2. Enhanced mood
3. Better blood sugars
4. Enhanced cognitive function
5. Enhanced immunity
6. Quality sleep
7. It may help you feel more rested

A few things that could affect melatonin:
• Darkness stimulates melatonin
• EMFs could negatively affect your sleep
• Cooler temperatures can increase melatonin
• Too much stress can inhibit melatonin
• A vitamin D deficiency can suppress melatonin production

Be careful. Reliable health information can be hard to find. Check this out!

1:15 What makes something credible?
2:50 Going through the weight loss booklet
14:05 The most important health information
14:19 Bulletproof your immune system (free course!)

Today, we’re going to talk about reliability and credibility when trying to find health information or weight loss information. How does someone really know when the information they’re getting is trusted, credible, and reliable?

What makes something credible? Is it the studies that back it up? Many people don’t read the actual study and rely on secondhand information. There can also be a lot of manipulation and bias in the area of research. Testimonials, especially with pictures or videos, can be credible. Reviews can be faked, but if one product has a lot of reviews, it may be more credible than one with fewer reviews.

Whatever is touted as the most reliable and credible information, especially if it’s mainstream, I typically look in the opposite direction. When you evaluate something, you have to look at the information yourself. You have to ask yourself if the information makes sense and differentiate fact and opinion.

Many people do a search online, and they pick whatever comes up first as the most credible or reliable source. But, relying on sources like the first few pages of Google to find weight loss information can be misleading.

For example, I actually googled “the best way to lose weight,” and I picked the first result that came up. Then, I ordered their weight loss book. Today, we’re going to go through and evaluate the information in this book.

I found this book to be very misleading. There were many things I disagreed with in the book. At one point, they basically say you should lose weight to improve your health. I believe it’s best to first improve your health so you can then lose weight.

The book we went through gives you a lot of information with some true information and some false information. But, they don’t give you the most important information. I believe the most important thing you can do is base your whole diet on keeping your insulin low.

In this video, we’re going to talk about depression—is depression really an illness? If so, in what part of the body is the problem located? And what objective test can show if there is something wrong with the body?

Someone is diagnosed with major depressive disease if they check off 5 or more of the following, but those 5 or more have to include #1 and #2:
1. Depressive mood
2. Decreased interest in pleasure
3. An increase or decrease in appetite or weight
4. Increased or decreased sleep
5. Fatigue
6. Feeling of worthlessness/inappropriate guilt
7. Decreased ability to concentrate
8. Agitation or retardation
9. Recurrent thoughts of death or suicide

Why are we not looking at other factors that may be more objective, such as:
• Poor diet
• Low vitamin D
• Low testosterone
• Hypothyroidism
• Low vitamin B1
• Not getting enough sleep
• Fatigue from Lyme disease, EBV, other viruses, or anemia
• Chronic pain and inflammation

Is depression really a disease? Let me know in the comments what you think.

There is a very interesting potential remedy that you could take at the first sign of a cold. You may start to feel something come on that could be a rhinovirus, coronavirus, influenza, or about 200 different viruses. But, what can you do?

Symptoms that could represent the first sign of a cold:
• Runny nose
• Coughing
• Sneezing
• Itchy or scratchy throat

A great potential remedy to take at the first sign of a cold is black elderberry. Black elderberry has been used for a long time and seems to be very effective.

The symptoms you might feel at the first sign of a cold may really be symptoms of inflammation. Black elderberry can be a powerful immune modulator. It can help regulate the immune system if it’s overreacting, and it may help bring inflammation down to a normal cycle. It could also help decrease the duration and intensity of the infection. If you take black elderberry early enough, you may potentially be able to stop the inflammation cycle from even occurring.

Other remedies for a cold:
• Natural food-based vitamin C (500mg)
• Zinc (50mg)
• Vitamin D (10,000 IUs)

Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:

Could you be going through manopause (male menopause)? Here are the symptoms and a few natural remedies.

Today we’re going to talk about manopause. People also call this male menopause or andropause. If you’re a male and you’re getting older, you may experience symptoms of low testosterone or late-onset hypogonadism.

Symptoms of male menopause:
• Mood swings (irritability, low tolerance to stress, anxiety, depression)
• Decreased muscle mass
• Lack of energy
• Man boobs (gynecomastia)
• Loss of sleep
• ED (erectile dysfunction)
• Low libido

The liver is very important in keeping testosterone levels normalized. There is a protein that binds with hormones, especially testosterone. High amounts of this protein can cause your testosterone to be low. Insulin resistance, a fatty liver, and cirrhosis can cause high amounts of this protein.

Potential remedies for andropause (male menopause):
1. The healthy keto diet and intermittent fasting
2. Cruciferous vegetables
3. Zinc (100 mg per day in a blend of other trace minerals)
4. Korean red ginseng
5. Choline (fix your liver)

A few more things you could do:
• Try to keep your stress as low as possible (counter stress with exercise like long walks)
• Ger more sleep (do less intense exercise like long walks if you’re not sleeping)
• Don’t snack on sugar or carbs (insulin will nullify testosterone)

It’s important to note that these natural remedies for manopause may not help unless you also fix your diet. High insulin can block your progress.

Taking testosterone can cause the gland that produces testosterone to shrink even more, causing you to become dependent on it. Over time, it may lose its effectiveness.

Statins can actually lower testosterone. If you’re on a statin for high cholesterol, you may want to give keto and intermittent fasting a try.

Clogged arteries? Here are the first 5 things you should do to clean up your diet.

In this video, we’re going to talk about the best foods to clean out your arteries.

The most inner part of your arteries is called the endothelial layer. If there is a dysfunction with this layer, you can develop inflammation. In turn, this inflammation can cause scarring, calcium deposits, and cholesterol deposits to build up.

A CAC (coronary artery calcification) test is the absolute best way to detect the state of your arteries. Get one of these tests and, if you have signs of build-up, clean up your diet with the tips below. Have a CAC test every few months until the problem is resolved.

Here are the best things you can do to clean out your arteries:

1. Lower your carbohydrates and do intermittent fasting to improve your insulin levels. High insulin causes a massive amount of inflammation throughout your body, which can contribute to clogged arteries and clots. High insulin can also cause AGEs (advanced glycated end products), which is a situation where the proteins inside your arteries become damaged. The first thing you need to do is normalize your insulin levels.

2. Consume foods rich in vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 lowers the amount of calcium in your blood and transports it to your bones. If you take vitamin D3, make sure you take it with vitamin K2. Natto, liver, eggs, butter, grass-fed beef, cheese, and sauerkraut are great sources of vitamin K2.

3. Take tocotrienols. Tocotrienols are a form of vitamin E, which is 50X more effective than tocopherols. This is a powerful antioxidant that can help reduce inflammation and promote a healthy cardiovascular system.

4. Increase omega-3 fatty acids, and lower omega-6 fatty acids. Cut the soy oil, corn oil, cottonseed oil, and other vegetable oils out of your diet. Instead, replace them with healthy fats, including fatty fish (such as salmon), cod liver oil, walnuts, and grass-fed meats. A good omega-3 to omega-6 ratio helps supports cardiovascular health.

5. Increase your potassium. Potassium helps keep your arteries soft and not hardened. 7-10 cups of vegetables a day are vital to maintaining healthy potassium levels.

Pomegranate is a great remedy for high blood pressure.

Additionally, vitamin D is important for lowering your inflammation. Get plenty of sunlight or take a vitamin D3 supplement.
