In this video, I want to talk to you about vitamin A and your immune system. Now, I’ve done plenty of other videos on the role of zinc, vitamin D, and vitamin C in the immune system, but I haven’t touched on vitamin A yet.

Vitamin A is an essential part of the immune system. A vitamin A deficiency will leave your body susceptible to infections—especially in the respiratory system, including your lungs, sinuses, and throat.

You need vitamin A for your mucous membranes. In particular, vitamin A is required for the creation of mucin. Mucin is an essential part of the mucus membrane.

Vitamin A is also involved in the epithelial layer and lymphatic system layer. Each of these acts as a barrier for microbes.

When pathogens enter the body, your body triggers macrophages. These are large phagocytic cells that consume pathogens and clean up other harmful debris. Macrophages are your body’s first line of defense against infection.

Your thymus gland, which is right above the heart, helps train your immune cells. The thymus can actually activate and synthesize vitamin A.

Vitamin A is also required for dendritic cells and neutrophil traps.

When you’re low in vitamin A, your risk increases for:
• Ulcerative colitis
• MS
• Psoriasis
• Lupus

How can you get more vitamin A? The best source of vitamin A are:
• Beef
• Liver
• Cod liver oil
• Mackerel
• Salmon
• Goat cheese
• Butter
• Cream cheese
• Eggs
• Vegetables (pre-vitamin A in carotenoid form)

The Benefits of Mucus

Your mucus is actually really amazing. Check out why.

3:33 How to rid mucus

Today we’re going to talk about mucus and how amazing mucus really is. Your mucus is actually a very important part of your body.

The body makes between 1 and 1.5 liters of mucus per day. The mucus sits on mucus membranes covering the inside of your body. The mucus membrane is a part of the immune system. Friendly bacteria live in the mucus, and immune cells live in the mucus.

The mucus membrane and the mucus on top of it line the:

• Sinuses
• Mouth
• Throat
• Lungs
• Stomach
• Intestines
• Kidneys
• Urogenital

What does mucus do?

• It acts as a lubricant
• It’s antimicrobial
• It has good bacteria
• It acts like a flytrap for harmful microbes
• It has antibodies
• It acts as a barrier to keep pathogens out

How to thin mucus build-up:

1. NAC
2. Vitamin A
3. Vitamin D

New COVID-19 Study with Vitamin D

Vitamin D deficiency is a pandemic in itself. Find out how a vitamin D deficiency could make you more vulnerable to COVID-19.

1:55 What vitamin D does

In this video, we’re going to talk about a very fascinating study relating to COVID-19.

Vitamin D is not only associated with decreased severity from COVID-2 but also decreased mortality from COVID-2.

A study that involved 780 confirmed cases of SARS-COVID-2 showed decreased severity in blood clots, hypoxia, and respiratory stress.

There were three groups involved in the study:

Group 1: Had enough vitamin D
Group 2: Had insufficient vitamin D
Group 3: Had a deficiency in vitamin D

The group that had a deficiency in vitamin D had a much higher mortality rate than the group that had enough vitamin D.

Vitamin D can potentially put out the cytokine storm. You could be at a much higher risk of infection if you are deficient in vitamin D.

It’s Not The Virus that Kills You, It’s Your Immune System

The virus isn’t the killer—it’s the immune system. Here’s what you need to know.

3:55 The virus isn’t the killer

Today we’re going to talk about viruses and the immune system. It’s not the virus that kills you. It’s actually your own immune system.

The virus doesn’t have a metabolism. It’s not even alive. Here’s what happens. You have this inactive shell with some DNA that has some very specific instructions to replicate. There are certain things on the surface of the virus that connect to certain tissues and certain receptors in the cell.

For example, COVID-19 connects to the ACE2 receptor. Once it connects, it’s able to get into the cell. Once inside of the cell, the immune system doesn’t see it at first. The goal of the virus is to get into the cell and replicate as fast as possible. This creates a lot of damage and an immune reaction, but it’s not what kills you.

Let’s say you have COVID-19, you’re on a respirator, and you have cytokine storm. This is creating massive destruction, which can lead to death. This destructive inflammatory condition is also happening on the inside of your arteries, and it can even create blood clots. The innate part of the immune system is overreacting because part of the adaptive immune system is not working.

The T suppressor cells, which are a part of the adaptive immune system, suppress or regulate the overreaction. But, there is a severe imbalance going on where you lose the adaptive immune system, including the T suppressor cells, and there is too much of the innate immune system causing the overreaction. This is what’s really killing people.

The virus is a trigger, and it causes damage, but the virus mainly seems to kill people with a weak immune system. It’s usually certain metabolic conditions that cause weakness within the T suppressor cells.

If your immune system is strong, the coronavirus does not seem to be a big threat.

In this video, I want to compare hydroxychloroquine versus remdesivir.

A big mistake was made by the World Health Organization when they sent this study to various publications. There was a rush to publish the study right away because of the success of remdesivir, and the wrong study was accidentally sent.

In the study that was sent, there was not an association with statistically significant clinical benefits with remdesivir.

The study that they wanted to publish only showed a moderate improvement in recovery time. Remdesivir is also an expensive drug.

The media has sparked excitement over remdesivir, but is ignoring hydroxychloroquine.

A new study that was done using hydroxychloroquine and an antibiotic showed that 91.7% of the patients that were tested for COVID-19, in 10 days did not test positive for COVID-19. The mortality rate was 0.5%, with no cardiac toxicity. Hydroxychloroquine is a very inexpensive drug.

The Potassium-Insulin Connection

Today we’re going to talk about the relationship between potassium and insulin. If you’re a diabetic or you have insulin resistance, this video is for you.

Insulin is a hormone that causes you to store fat. In the presence of insulin, it’s almost impossible to burn fat and lose weight because insulin prevents fat burning. With insulin, you store sugar as fat, and it prevents the break down of fat. Insulin also stores glucose and turns glucose into glycogen.

Glycogen is a string of glucose molecules held together as stored sugar. Potassium is also involved. Potassium is necessary in the storage of glycogen.

The main purpose of insulin is to lower your blood sugar. It does that by taking the sugar and putting it in storage as glycogen or as fat.

Insulin also helps put potassium in your cells. When you consume a high-carb diet, you deplete potassium from the inside of the cell—you lose potassium.

Taking potassium makes insulin less resistive. Potassium may be very beneficial if you have insulin resistance. If you’re a diabetic, you have insulin resistance.

If you’re deficient in potassium, that situation will impair glucose and even increase the risk of insulin resistance.

It is very important to get enough potassium—especially if you have a blood sugar issue.
