Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:
There are many things that can cause inflammation, but did you know that your own fat could be one of them?
Timestamps
0:00 Fat and inflammation
0:45 How fat keeps you inflamed
1:40 What you could do
Today we’re going to talk about how your own fat could actually keep you inflamed. The fat cell is not only storage for triglycerides, but it also makes hormones. For example, it makes leptin, which decreases your appetite.
A few more interesting things about the fat cell:
• It’s involved in immunity (it makes stem cells)
• It’s involved in appetite
• It’s involved with blood pressure
• It’s involved with insulin regulation
• It’s involved with TNF alpha (cytokine)
TNF alpha (cytokine) is a signaling molecule that triggers inflammation. Your fat cells, specifically your visceral fat, trigger TNF alpha, which keeps the body inflamed. That inflammation then causes insulin resistance, which causes more fat and starts the cycle over again.
What you could do:
1. Keep your carbs below 20g per day
2. Do intermittent fasting
3. Take vitamin D (about 30,000 IUs)
4. Take choline
5. Take bile salts
6. Exercise (45 minutes per day)

Did you know that testosterone replacement therapy can potentially increase your estrogen? The majority of estrogen in men comes from their own testosterone. Extra testosterone acts as a precursor for more estradiol, especially if you’re overweight. Your fat cells make an enzyme called aromatase, which causes testosterone to be converted to estrogen.
Symptoms of low testosterone:
• Thin hair
• Erectile dysfunction
• Decreased libido
• Decreased muscle mass
• High blood sugar
• Decreased body hair
Natural remedies to help increase testosterone
• Zinc
• Fenugreek
• Tribulus

3:16 What to do for stubborn postmenopausal weight
4:17 Key takeaways

In this video, we’re going to talk about the best way to lose weight if you’re postmenopausal.
I’ve done many other videos on this topic where I cover five things:
1. Lower your carbs to less than 10 grams
2. Fast (one meal a day)
3. Add exercise (and long walks)
4. Get plenty of quality sleep
5. Avoid alcohol
What if you’re already doing all of these things, and you still can’t seem to lose enough weight?
First, let’s talk about the pituitary. The pituitary gland produces many different hormones. One hormone is called FSH—its purpose is to tell the ovaries to make estrogen.
However, after menopause, your ovaries no longer create estrogen. This means that FSH levels stay high because the ovaries do not send feedback to lower FSH.
FSH also happens to make fat. This is a big problem because it can make weight loss very difficult.
After menopause, your cortisol levels increase. This may also contribute to difficulty losing weight.
There are a couple of things you can do to prevent these issues:
1. Take Myo-inositol
2. Take royal jelly

2:34 Key takeaways

In this video, we’re going to talk about celery juice vs. sodium nitrates in hot dogs. Is it okay to consume hot dogs that use celery juice instead of nitrates?
First, let’s talk about why manufacturers put celery juice in hot dogs and other processed meats. Celery juice is one way to provide nitrates. Nitrates act as a curative agent—they preserve the meat.
The USDA does not recognize celery juice as a curative agent, so they list it as an antimicrobial.
So, is this natural source of nitrates actually healthier to consume than synthetic forms?
Studies show that sodium nitrate found in processed hot dogs and deli meats can contribute to cancer. However, no research shows that celery juice will do the same thing.
Until I read a study that says that it has the same effects, I won’t know if it’s safe or not.
However, I will say that non-organic celery is sprayed with insecticides, pesticides, and herbicides. When you buy organic meats with celery juice, the juice is often not organic.
So the non-organic celery juice actually contaminates the organic grass-fed meat products to some degree.
Overall, try your best to always go organic and grass-fed if you’re going to have a hot dog. Also, try to avoid all nitrates, if possible.
You should do a healthy ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting to offset the effects of any foods with possible carcinogens.

Healthy keto and intermittent fasting
Today I want to share with you the number one cause for hypertension. Hypertension is classified into two different categories.
1. Primary or essential hypertension:
About 95% of hypertension cases have an unknown cause. It could be related to a person’s lifestyle, but there is also data that points to having too much insulin (hyperinsulinemia) as being behind this issue. With too much insulin, a person will also have insulin resistance.
2. Secondary hypertension:
Typically comes from kidney disease, a tumor, etc.
High insulin could potentially cause hypertension because high insulin stimulates the autonomic nervous system (primarily the sympathetic nervous system). This situation could raise a person’s blood pressure and also cause the arteries to become very stiff. This could lead to hypertension.
A few causes of hypertension
*1. Hyperinsulinemia
2. Low potassium
3. Low vitamin D
4. Low magnesium
5. Low vitamin K2
Healthy keto and intermittent fasting could potentially help a person with hyperinsulinemia and also help support a healthy lifestyle. Intermittent fasting may have a greater impact on lowering insulin, but the combination of healthy keto and intermittent fasting seems to work best.

In this video, we’re going to talk about a vitamin B1 deficiency after antibiotics.
Several antibiotics are capable of creating a B1 deficiency. These include:
• Cipro
• Factive
• Levaquin
• Avelox
• Floxin
• Baxdela
• And 60 other generic versions
Why do antibiotics cause vitamin B1 deficiency? Well, you get a portion of vitamin B1 from your diet, but you also get a large amount from your gut microbes. Antibiotics kill off health gut microbes, which means you have fewer to create vitamin B1.
Symptoms of a B1 deficiency may include:
• ADD
• Anxiety
• Agitation
• Nervousness
• Lack of memory
• Hypoglycemic coma
• Tendinitis
• Tendon rupture
• Risk of C. Diff
• Irreversible peripheral neuropathy
Vitamin B1 deals with amino acid metabolism. If you can’t transport amino acids, like collagen, you can have issues with your tendons, muscles, joints, and nerves.
If you’re in a situation where you have to take antibiotics, it’s a good idea to take probiotics and nutritional yeast to support healthy B vitamin levels.

In this video, we’re going to talk about chronic inflammation and anemia.
One of the first lines of defense against pathogens is to withhold nutrients from microbes. Iron and a few other nutrients are vital to the growth of bacteria. In fact, both good and bad bacteria need iron to exist in the body.
Sequestration is a situation where your body is locking up iron and other minerals from pathogens. This prevents pathogens from obtaining food.
Pathogens have counter-strategies that allow them to break open cells to acquire the iron they need.
Those who have too much iron are very susceptible to infections. This is why—bacteria and other microbes have a lot of nutrients to help them grow and reproduce.
Other pathogens—like Lyme disease—are able to survive off of manganese instead of iron.
When you have a chronic inflammation situation, you can become very deficient in iron, which can make you feel anemic and weak. Taking more iron can actually feed the pathogens at the same time.
Instead of taking more iron, address the underlying inflammation situation.
The best way to remedy this issue is to do intermittent fasting and take vitamin D.

As an example, let’s say that 2/100 people die when not going on chemo and 1/100 people diet after going on chemo.
What would the relative risk look like? The relative risk would say that chemo decreases cancer mortality rate by 50%. Essentially, chemo will double your chance of survival. That sounds very hopeful, right?
But what this data actually means in absolute risk is that chemo reduces cancer mortality rate by 1%. That’s because we’re going from 2 deaths to one death out of 100 people—not 50/100.
Pharmaceutical companies use these numbers to make their drugs look far more effective than they actually are.
This is why it’s always important to always consider the absolute risk—not just the relative risk.
The real question to ask is how long chemo will prolong your life. Ask your doctor about this, and have them give you the studies behind their opinion to see if it matches up.
Many studies out there also suggest that there are other natural ways to battle cancer. Talk to your doctor about these options before you make a decision.
