In this video, we’re going to talk about cholesterol and why cholesterol is important.
People are afraid of cholesterol. But, your body actually makes 3000mg of cholesterol per day. If cholesterol is dangerous, why would the body make so much of it?
Why cholesterol is important:
• You need cholesterol to make bile
• You need cholesterol to make vitamin D
• You need cholesterol to make hormones (estrogen, testosterone, cortisol)
• Your brain is made up of 50% fat and 50% cholesterol
• Your brain synapses are lined with cholesterol
• The myelin sheath that surrounds the nerves needs cholesterol
• 40% of the cholesterol that’s made in your body is needed for the cellular membrane
Your cell membranes are dynamic and are there to protect you. The cell membranes have to do with:
• Receptors
• Ion channels
• Transporters
• Pumps—ions
• Fat-soluble vitamins
• Hormones
• Signaling

1:32 Stevia and chemicals
In this video, we’re going to talk about stevia and the problem with stevia.
It’s very important to read the labels on the things you buy. Just because something might be keto-friendly does not mean it’s healthy. That can be the case with stevia on keto.
The problems with some brands of stevia sweetener:
• Stevia in the Raw—Maltodextrin (the highest type of sweetener on the glycemic index)
• Sweet Leaf—Inulin (can create bloating)
• Better Stevia—Organic cane alcohol
• Pyure Stevia—Organic stevia and natural flavors (Likely GMO ingredients)
What stevia is best?
For the most part, if you can get stevia by itself, it’s going to be ok. Ideally, it would be great if you get the stevia that’s green and not white, which has a lot of unneeded chemicals.

In this video, we’re going to talk about intermittent fasting and a fatty liver. Can intermittent fasting reverse fatty liver?
Fasting is one of the most important things you can do if you have a fatty liver.
One way to know if you have a fatty liver is to simply look down at your stomach. If your stomach bulges out, chances are you have a fatty liver. You can also get a biopsy or an ultrasound to be sure.
When the liver becomes filled with fat, it spills off into areas around and inside the organs. This is why people start developing a gut.
What causes fatty liver?
• Sugar or refined carbohydrates
When you consume glucose, your whole body can deal with it. But, when you consume fructose, the liver is stuck dealing with it. Indirectly your insulin will spike, and other problems with occur. The effects of fructose on the liver are very similar to the effects of alcohol on the liver.
A few sources of fructose you might not have thought of:
• High fructose corn syrup
• Fruit juice
• Agave
The best way to handle a fatty liver is to reverse the flow. You have to fast. You want to work up to about 20 hours of fasting—23 hours would be even better. Don’t eat unless you’re hungry and go for as long as you can.
A few more things to help speed up the process:
• Take choline (and B vitamins in the form of nutritional yeast)
• Exercise
• Bile salts

2:32 Fasting for diabetes
3:30 Why does fasting work for diabetes?
In this video, we’re going to talk about if fasting is healthy for a diabetic. If you have diabetes, this video is for you.
In the United States alone, there are about 84 million people who are pre-diabetic and 30 million who are diabetic. There is also a large number of people who have insulin resistance and are on their way to becoming a diabetic.
There are two main mechanisms with diabetes medications:
1. Targeting insulin resistance
2. Increasing insulin
The medications that increase insulin also increase the risk of cardiovascular mortality by 59-68%.
What you need to realize is that high insulin is just as damaging as high blood glucose. You need normal insulin, but you don’t need tremendous amounts of insulin.
If you combine therapeutic fasting, where you’re making sure you’re getting all of your nutrients, with a low-carb diet—this can produce amazing results.
1. Within 4 months—no need for insulin
2. A decrease in A1C
3. A decrease in waist size
4. Able to control blood sugars
Why does fasting work for diabetes?
*Because it decreases the need for insulin.
Low-carb and fasting are very therapeutic versus something that increases insulin. The side-effects of too much insulin are just as bad as too much glucose.

2:56 If you’re not doing keto
In this video, I want to clarify one specific point about fasting. If you’re nervous about attempting to do fasting, this video is for you.
Skipping breakfast only works if you’re on keto. This is because it’s the carbohydrates that prevent fat burning. If you’re doing intermittent fasting and carbs, you’re not going to tap into fat. So, you’re going to wake up in the morning feeling hungry.
If you try not to eat, you’re going to be more hungry because you’re running off of your blood sugars, which you don’t have a lot of storage of. You will tap out your blood sugars, and you will start feeling symptoms.
The secret is combining intermittent fasting with low-carb keto. Breakfast is the most un-important meal of the day if you’re doing keto.
On keto, you wake up, and you’re running on fat. So you’re not eating, but you’re eating your own fat which will allow you to go pass the time you normally eat. You’re burning fat all night long, and you want to ride the wave for as long as possible.
The key is not to have carbs. However, vegetable carbohydrates are fine.
If you’re not doing keto, you’re really going to want breakfast. If you are going to do breakfast, make sure it’s a protein breakfast.

0:10 Apigenin
0:23 Benefits of celery
1:05 What to do
In this short video, we’re going to talk about celery and the amazing benefits of celery.
Apigenin is a phytonutrient that’s in:
• Celery
• Parsley
• Chamomile tea
• Grapefruit
The benefits of celery (apigenin):
• Anti-anxiety
• Sedative
• Anti-diabetic
• Anti-cancer
• Anti-inflammation
• Inhibits aromatase
• Lowers prostate enlargement
• Lowers cortisol
You can get apigenin in a pill, but I don’t recommend that. To get the health benefits of celery like apigenin, the best thing to do is to consume 6-7 stalks of celery in the evening. You can replace your salad with this because celery is a vegetable.

5:40 Action steps
Did you know that diabetes is the fastest growing disease on earth?
Why is diabetes the fastest growing disease?
Carbohydrates are the real culprit, and also the frequency of eating.
When you eat carbs, you get too much sugar in the blood. Your pancreas has a cell called the beta cell. Its job is to make insulin. Insulin’s job is to get the glucose out of the blood to maintain normal glucose.
What is diabetes?
It usually takes 10-20 years to develop diabetes. Diabetes is a disease where you have too much glucose in the blood.
It takes a long time for diabetes to show up because, in the meantime, your pancreas is trying to help you out by producing more insulin than it should to keep the blood glucose normal. Now, the cells are going to start resisting the insulin, because too much insulin is toxic. With this happening, a condition is being created called insulin resistance.
Eventually, the beta cell starts to get tired and fail. It’s not producing insulin, so insulin is going to go down, and the blood glucose goes up, resulting in diabetes.
Diabetes is diagnosed very late on the chain of events.
What to ask your doctor if you are a diabetic:
1. Isn’t diabetes a disease of too much sugar in the blood?
2. Then, why aren’t you recommending that I go on a low-sugar diet or low-carb diet?
Action steps:
• Get on healthy keto and do intermittent fasting, so you can decrease the need for your pancreas to work so hard.

1:48 Ammonia in the brain
2:50 Natural remedies
Today, we’re going to talk about ammonia and ammonia toxicity in the brain.
When you’re fasting or doing the ketogenic diet, you’re generating a lot of ketones which are acidic. Ammonia is generated to counter some of the acidity of the ketones. This isn’t a bad thing.
If you consume a lot of protein, you may also smell ammonia, which is usually not a problem unless you have liver damage.
If you have liver damage or kidney damage, you may not break down ammonia fully to urea. This can cause it to build up and back up into the brain.
What is ammonia?
Ammonia is a by-product of protein.
An imbalance of your microbes can also generate excessive amounts of ammonia, which is one cause of ammonia in your brain.
Ammonia in the brain:
When ammonia elevates in the brain, it can be toxic to the neurons and affect your mental clarity, cognitive function, mood, and can even cause a coma.
Over-exercising or glyphosate from GMO products can also cause too much ammonia.
Natural remedies to lessen the amount of ammonia in your body:
1. Sauerkraut
2. Veggies
3. Moderate protein
4. Manganese
