Will Adrenal Fatigue Cause Weight Gain?

What is adrenal fatigue, and will it cause you to gain weight? Watch this video to find out.

5:42 How does adrenal fatigue cause weight gain?
7:55 How can you fix the problem?

In this video, let’s talk about adrenal fatigue. The question I want to answer is this: can adrenal fatigue cause you to gain weight?

The first thing you need to know is that the medical profession does not acknowledge adrenal fatigue as a medical problem. They just don’t recognize it.

There’s a condition called Cushing’s syndrome, which is characterized by high cortisol or hypercortisolism. Cortisol is known as the stress hormone, and the adrenal glands are responsible for creating it.

The thing is, you don’t just wake up with this Cushing’s. It gradually starts and gets worse it worse. The starting point is adrenal fatigue—the same way that prediabetes happens before type II diabetes.

With a full-blown Cushing’s syndrome case, you can see these symptoms:
• Visceral fat
• High blood pressure
• Round face
• Red cheeks
• Fatigue
• Anxiety
• Buffalo hump
• Fat-collar bone
• Thin skin
• Decreased libido
• Hypokalemia
• Low vitamin D
• Insomnia

However, people with adrenal fatigue can also experience these symptoms, but they may not be quite as severe.

Let’s get back to the question, “Can adrenal fatigue cause weight gain?”

It really depends on how chronic it is. If you have an issue with chronic stress, as opposed to only having occasional stress events, then you can definitely have some weight gain. It also depends on the diet. If you have a bad diet and you have chronic stress, the situation is going to be far worse.

Why does cortisol cause weight gain? The purpose of cortisol is to increase your energy in stressful situations, like being chased by a tiger. However, when that energy (which is sugar in this case) isn’t being used—like those who work at a desk—it gets stored as fat. Even worse, cortisol converts your muscle into sugar, which can reduce your muscle mass.

Cortisol also has another function. Along with creating fat, it prevents the burning of fat. This means that you’ll have a hard time to get into ketosis.

The key is to start by figuring out where the stress is coming from. Then, you can work towards lowering it. Next, start on Healthy Keto and intermittent fasting. Finally, make sure you are getting plenty of vitamin D, vitamin C, and potassium.

Overview of Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:

How to Lower Stress:

Biofilm:

Olive Leaf:

In this video, we’re going to talk about how you can bulletproof your immune system. First, let’s talk about what the immune system is.

The immune system is basically your body’s army for fighting off pathogens, which cause disease. In particular, the pathogens we’re talking about are microbes, like bacteria and viruses.

There are three main barriers to the immune system—skin, mucous lining, and inflammation.

Once a pathogen is in the body, your body deploys its counter-attack using white blood cells (WBC) and friendly gut microbes.

White blood cells and friendly microbes…
• Make acid to kill off pathogens
• Secrete poison
• Releases free radicles
• Created hydrogen peroxide
• Create enzymes
• Compete for food/space
• Generate music and inflammation
• Have a memory so they can easily deal microbes they’ve encountered before
• Promote phagocytes, which are cells that destroy unfriendly microbes

You have things that can weaken the immune system, and you have things that can give you an immunity boost. Take a look:

Weakens the immune system:
• Low nutrient foods
• Unhealthy diets
• Low vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, amino acids, etc.
• Stress
• Low sleep
• Glucose

Strengthens the immune system:
• Vitamin C (natural sources)
• Vitamin D
• Vitamin A
• Zinc
• Garlic
• Colloidal silver
• Olive leaf

How Stress Affects Your White Blood Cells (WBCs) and Immune System

Stress may affect your white blood cells and your immune system—making you more susceptible to getting sick. Check this out.

Timestamps
0:06 Cortisol and the immune system
1:15 Chronic stress and cortisol resistance
2:07 Stress effects on the immune system
2:32 What happens before you get sick

In this video, we’re going to talk about how stress affects the immune system.

When we’re talking about stress, we’re talking about the hormone cortisol. Cortisol has a purpose of suppressing white blood cells. Your white blood cells are basically the army of your immune system. Cortisol suppresses that function. Stress activates cortisol.

There are two types of stress:

1. Acute stress
2. Chronic stress

Chronic stress is the type of stress that’s behind so many health problems. When you chronically elevate cortisol, you could create cortisol resistance. This is very similar to insulin resistance. The amount of cortisol may even appear normal in your blood. But, the cells are not sensitive to cortisol anymore, and cortisol is no longer working. This means it’s not going to have a good effect on the immune system.

It may create a spike in the white blood cells, which could increase your risk for all sorts of issues. Or, it could cause you to lose your immune protection and make you more susceptible to getting sick.

Before you get sick, there is almost always something that happens. It’s some type of factor that lowers your immune system. It could be a combination of stress and a nutrient deficiency, or it could be stress itself. A virus can also cause a nutrient deficiency. It can even block vitamin D. This can cause the infection to stay.

Subclinical Hypothyroidism and Zinc Deficiency

There is a really important missing factor in subclinical hypothyroidism— a zinc deficiency. Check this out.

1:38 What to do

Today we’re going to talk about subclinical hypothyroidism and a zinc deficiency.

Subclinical hypothyroidism is a situation where you have a slow thyroid, but the blood values are still normal. If you’re looking at blood tests alone, you can completely miss this condition.

There are several important trace minerals involved in thyroid function, such as:

• Iodine
• Selenium
• Copper
• Zinc

Zinc is not emphasized enough. Zinc is not only involved in the conversion from T4 to T3 but, it’s also involved in the synthesis of T4 and T3, as well as the thyroid-stimulating hormone. Without enough zinc, you can’t convert these hormones, and you can’t make thyroid hormones.

Once you have a hypothyroid condition, you’re going to have a hard time absorbing zinc. Having a slow thyroid may actually cause a zinc deficiency.

If you have any thyroid symptoms, don’t forget about zinc. One great way to get more zinc is to consume more shellfish, sea kelp, or take a supplement.
