1:44 The effects of eating right before bed
2:42 Intermittent fasting and sleep

In this video, we’re going to talk about fasting and sleep cycles.

Inside your brain, you have a circadian clock. This is a timing mechanism. The name of this clock is called the suprachiasmatic nucleus. This clock is located in the brain and is highly influenced by eating, temperature, stress, light, and darkness.

This means that when the temperature is cold, you get hungry. When you’re stressed, or there’s too much light, you won’t be able to sleep. When it’s dark, you get a spike in melatonin, and you might be more tired.

When you’re not sleeping, your appetite goes up. Eating, in general, creates stimulation of your organs, which will keep you from sleeping. Diabetics also have a risk of sleep apnea. This is because of high levels of insulin. Frequent eating and too many carbs trigger insulin.

This is why the worst time to eat is right before bed.

Frequent eating confuses your brain because you’re creating constant stimulation to your brain. But, intermittent fasting gives your organs and brain, including your circadian clock, a chance to rest and heal. This is why intermittent fasting may improve your sleep cycle. When you do fasting consistently, you actually require less sleep.

6:40 My personal experience

Today we’re going to talk about referred pain.

What is referred pain?
Basically, referred pain is pain that is coming from a different location than where you hurt.

Referred pain examples:

1. Pancreas
May have referred pain to the left shoulder or the back. It may also not be referred pain and hurt right over the pancreas.

2. Spleen
May refer pain to the left shoulder.

3. Heart
May refer pain to the left arm, shoulder, or jaw.

4. Gallbladder
May refer pain to the shoulder area.

5. Liver
May refer pain to the right shoulder.

6. Ovary
May refer pain to the lower back.

7. Prostate
May refer pain to the lower back.

8. Kidney
May refer pain anywhere underneath the last rib to the spine. A kidney stone can cause pain in the groin area, but the problem is not in the groin.

What causes referred pain?
They don’t really know what causes referred pain.

A very large percentage of people have referred pain versus pain from the actual pain source. If you haven’t had an injury to a certain area, but it starts hurting for no reason, it’s likely referred pain.

What to do for referred pain:
• Healthy keto
• Intermittent fasting

5:00 How to get the benefits of an electrolyte drink

Today, we’re going to talk about the benefits of energy drinks.

In theory, energy drinks are supposed to help increase brain energy, exercise performance, and endurance. However, most energy drinks will actually cause brain fog, less exercise performance, and the ingredients will deplete the cells.

The big problem with energy drinks is that the ingredients don’t give you real energy. These drinks are composed mostly of caffeine and sugar.

Caffeine is not a fuel. It’s a stimulant. It makes you think you have energy, but really it’s just revving up your adrenal glands.

There are also crazy amounts of sugar in energy drinks, which will make you more tired and grumpy, and will make you want another energy drink. A lot of this sugar is not just glucose. It’s fructose. These drinks also contain a lot of sodium and not enough potassium.

You need to look for an energy drink that has all of the electrolytes. Electrolytes are electrically charged minerals that help to energize your cells. Potassium helps recharge the battery in your cells. Magnesium feeds the mitochondria.

If you really want to get the benefits of an electrolyte drink, make sure it has zero caffeine, zero sugar, and it’s filled with a good amount of electrolytes.

Whiplash Injury:

In this video, we’re going to talk about chronic pain. I want to share with you some unique and powerful things you can do for chronic pain.

Common chronic pain causes:

• Post-surgery
• Post-injury
• Referral
• Diabetic
• Autoimmune
• Arthritis

There is not a lot of exact knowledge about why people develop chronic pain. But, I want to give you my opinion on the subject.

What to do:
You will want to work on the opposite side from where you’re feeling pain. You do not want to work on the area where you’re feeling pain because you’ll re-traumatize it.

• Rate the pain
• Use massage/acupressure to work on the opposite area for 1-2 minutes
• Rate the pain again
• Use massage/acupressure to work on the opposite area a little higher up for 1-2 minutes

If this technique doesn’t work, it may be because of referred pain. For a whiplash injury, there is a more complex technique you should try. Some neck pain and abdomen pain may be coming from a digestive issue. In this case, you need to fix your diet. Get on healthy keto and do intermittent fasting.

Natural remedies for chronic pain:

1. Fasting
2. Stinging nettle root
3. Vitamin D (40,000 IUs)
4. Benfotiamine

In this video, we’re going to talk about the best foods for a recovering alcoholic.

What health issues are a recovering alcoholic most likely dealing with?

• Liver damage
• Inflammation
• Cirrhosis
• Nutritional deficiencies

The best foods for a recovering alcoholic:

1. Cruciferous vegetables
2. Shellfish
3. Sunflower seeds/nutritional yeast
4. Fish—omega 3 fatty acids
5. Large salads

A recovering alcoholic should also try doing intermittent fasting (1-2 meals a day) as well as periodic fasting. You want to do intermittent fasting to create autophagy, which will clean up old damaged proteins and turn them into healthy new amino acids. This happens roughly around 18 hours a day of fasting. Periodic fasting will also help speed up your results.

Kombucha tea is a really good substitute for beer or wine. Just be sure it’s the one with the lowest amount of sugar. It’s similar to alcohol in that it can help you feel more relaxed and calm. It does have a very small amount of alcohol, but it’s an insignificant amount that should not cause problems.

If you’re a recovering alcoholic and you want to take this to the next level, you may want to try these nutrients:

• Cysteine
• Glycine
• Glutamine
• NAC
• Vitamin C
• Zinc
• B-vitamins
• Milk thistle

In this video, I’m going to talk about some of the hidden reasons for high blood sugar. Here are 9 reasons why your blood sugar is high:

1. Cortisol – At around 8am, you may have a cortisol spike that is causing high blood sugars.
2. Low blood sugar – Your body’s hormones may overcompensate for low blood sugar and cause high blood sugar.

3. Late-night snacks – Snacks, especially ones full of carbs, can boost your blood sugar.
4. Sugar the day before – Even sugar from the day before can significantly boost your blood sugar 24 hours later.

5. Low blood pressure – Blood pressure medications can activate cortisol and raise your blood glucose levels.

6. Stress – trauma, stress, and anxiety can raise your cortisol and lead to high blood sugar.

7. Forgot to take meds – If you happened to forget your prescribed medications (even for just one day), this could throw off your blood sugar levels.

8. Exercise the night before – If you exercised the night before, you could burn up all your sugar, which causes your body to overcompensate (see #2)

9. Hidden additives (MSG, artificial sweeteners, etc.) – Sweeteners and additives can spike your blood sugar levels drastically.
The best solution is to fix insulin resistance with healthy keto and intermittent fasting.

1:56 Summary—is black pepper healthy?

In this video, I want to talk to you about black pepper. Is it good, or is it bad? The truth is, there’s something very good and very bad about black pepper. Let me explain.

The main phytonutrient in black pepper that benefits your health is called piperine.

Pepper can:
• Relieve stomach aches
• Improves dopamine and serotonin levels
• Reduce inflammation
• Provide vitamin K, iron, and magnesium
• Improves bioavailability of some compounds (by up to 2000%)

By far, the most amazing part of black pepper is its ability to increase the bioavailability of other compounds, including:
• Curcumin
• Selenium
• B12
• B6
• Vitamin A

The problem is that piperine can also increase the bioavailability of toxic substances. It can prevent your liver from getting rid of toxins in the body, so you will retain it.

It’s not good if you’re taking certain medications, including:
• Lithium
• Tegretol
• Rifampin
• Dilantin
• Viramune XR

In this video, I’m going to talk to you about the different causes of jaundice. Jaundice is a situation where your skin and the whites of your eyes turn yellow. This is caused by bilirubin backing up into the skin.

Bilirubin is a compound that comes from the breakdown of red blood cells. This happens because your liver isn’t clearing them out. With infants, this can mean that their liver is underdeveloped. With adults, it’s typically liver damage.

There are 8 things you can try to help get rid of jaundice.
1. Sunlight (or phototherapy)
2. Vitamin D
3. Rosemary
4. Lemon juice
5. Ginger
6. Amla berry
7. Oregano
8. Milk thistle
Give these a try and see if they help you get rid of jaundice.

Milk thistle is like an incredible liver detox. Research suggests it has some powerful benefits because of the phytonutrient in milk thistle called silibinin.

According to this research, the benefits of milk thistle include:
• Helps repair insulin resistance and fatty liver
• Removes hydrogen peroxide from the body’s tissues
• Acts as an anti-inflammatory
• Helps protect against chemotherapy
• Contains anticarcinogen properties
• Acts as a powerful antioxidant
• Nullifies cytokines
• Acts as a strong antifibrotic
• Supports the gallbladder and production of bile
• Has potent antiviral properties

I recommend getting the freeze-dried form of milk thistle supplement—this is the most potent and pure form.

Give it a try and see if it helps you.

I’ve done many different videos on the importance of vitamin D. But, there is always an exception to the rule. In this video, we’re going to talk about when not to take vitamin D.

In my opinion, vitamin D is the most important nutrient. There are many different benefits of vitamin D for your health. It’s almost impossible to get enough vitamin D through the diet, and people aren’t outside as much anymore to get it from the sun. It’s common for people to have a vitamin D deficiency. But, in rare cases, you may need to avoid taking vitamin D.

The main side effect of taking too much vitamin D:

• Hypercalcemia, which is too much calcium in the blood.

Symptoms of hypercalcemia:

• Kidney stones
• Bone pain
• Excessive urination
• Muscle weakness
• Depression
• Anxiety

When not to take vitamin D:

1. Sarcoidosis
2. Primary hyperparathyroidism
3. Familial hypocalciuric hypercalcemia
4. Lithium
5. Diuretics (hydrochlorothiazide)
6. Certain cancers
7. Hyperthyroid

In this short video, I want to explain some things about vitamin D and inflammation. How does vitamin D reduce inflammation? The first thing you need to know is what inflammation is.

Inflammation is the immune system’s response to a stimulus that is viewed as foreign or toxic to your body—also known as an antigen. This is a defense mechanism. Inflammation mobilizes your body’s defenses, also known as white blood cells.

However, there are cases when your immune system overreacts or under reacts and causes too much or too little inflammation. For instance, with joints, your immune system may boost inflammation that causes pain and stiffness.
Inflammation is caused by inflammatory chemicals, including cytokines, prostaglandins, and leukotrienes. These are messengers that help trigger the white blood cell army and how many of the white blood cell “troops” need to be immobilized.
If your immune system miscalculates the number of white blood cells to send out, you can create too much collateral damage—this is what happens in autoimmune diseases. Your own immune system can actually attack and destroy parts of your body.
The problem is when the immune system does too much or too little.

So why is vitamin D important? Vitamin D is an immune system modulator. It helps regulate the immune system, so it doesn’t cause too much or too little inflammation in the body.

I recommend taking 20,000 IU+ of vitamin D.

In this video, we’re going to talk about fruit and weight loss. Can you eat fruit after you lose weight on keto?

Yes, you can eat fruit after losing weight on keto. But, it comes with a package.

• Fruits have been grown to be sweeter and higher in sugar.
• Fruits are seasonal, but you can buy them all year-round. If you eat a lot of fruit, you’re getting a lot of fructose.
• Fruit, in general, is not keto-friendly.
• If you want to start adding back in fruit, what is your history of abusing sugar? If you don’t have a history of abusing sugar, you don’t have insulin resistance, you have a fast metabolism, you don’t have a weight problem, and you don’t have a health problem—you could probably get away with adding in some fruit.
• Take a look at all the data and make a judgment call.

Fruits that are lower in sugar:

• Avocados
• Lemons/Limes
• Coconuts
• Tomatoes
• Pomegranate seeds
• Starfruit
• Berries (raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, blueberries)

In this video, we’re going to talk about doing the ketogenic diet without side effects. If you’ve considered doing keto, but others have told you about the side effect, this video is for you.

The thing that will help with practically all keto side effects is to do Healthy Keto. Healthy keto is a healthy version of the ketogenic diet. It includes foods that are non-GMO, organic, fresh, and low in carbs.
A normal keto diet consists of 75% fat, 20% protein, and 5% carbs. However, healthy keto consists of 75% fat, 15% protein, and 10% carbs. Why? Because this allows you to consume many for fresh vegetables. You need fresh vegetables for your daily nutrients.

On a standard keto diet, you may have these problems:
• Constipation
• Kidney stones
• Diarrhea
• Insomnia
• Rash
• Fatigue
• High cholesterol
• Loss of bone
• Heart rhythm issues
• Dry mouth
• Hunger, cravings, and hypoglycemia
• Cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer
• Bad breath

However, healthy keto helps you avoid these altogether.

Healthy keto consists of:
1. Lots of low-carb vegetables (7-10 cups per day)
2. Quality foods
3. Sea salt
4. Nutritional yeast
5. Electrolytes

In this video, we’re going to talk about the fastest way to get rid of your back fat. What is the most important thing to get rid of back fat? It’s intermittent fasting.

Hands-down, fasting is the most powerful tool for getting rid of back fat. There are three types of fat you should know about:
• Fat in your liver
• Visceral fat (around your abdomen)
• Subcutaneous fat (just underneath the skin)

When doing a diet, the first type of fat to go away is the fat in your liver. Then, your visceral fat. Lastly, your subcutaneous fat.

Some people work really hard to lose weight, but they can’t get rid of subcutaneous fat that causes that roll around your midsection and back.

So how can you get rid of back fat fast? You have to do intermittent fasting. In this case, intermittent fasting is even more critical than keto. However, if you do both keto and intermittent fasting, your results will come much quicker.
About 80% of the population would be able to get rid of their back fat if they did intermittent fasting for 18 hours a day. The other 20% would need to do 20-23 hours of intermittent fasting.

The best thing you can do is skip breakfast. Have your first meal later in the day to increase your fasting time.
Along with fasting, you should:
• Have less than 10 carbs a day
• Excercise
• Decrease fat to under 70 grams if you want to see faster results
• Try drinking unsweet tea or coffee while fasting
• Get plenty of electrolytes and B vitamins
• Drink plenty of water (2 liters a day)
• Use apple cider vinegar and lemon juice
Intermittent fasting helps:
• Boost your metabolism
• Normalize your insulin
• Decrease hunger
