Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:
Blindness can be a serious complication of diabetes. Here’s what you need to know.

1:33 How long does it take for a diabetic to go blindÂ
3:20 Other complications of high blood sugar
3:48 What you could doÂ
Today we’re going to talk about how long it could take a diabetic to go blind. Diabetes-related retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness.Â
Other complications of diabetic retinopathy:
• Numb feetÂ
• Chronic infectionsÂ
• Kidney damageÂ
• Heart damageÂ
• The loss of cognitive functionÂ
High levels of blood sugar cause bleeding of the capillaries of the eye. Eventually, the retina dies because of a lack of nutrients and oxygen.Â
After 10 years of having chronically high blood sugar, you could start to develop complications of diabetes. Things get worse as time goes on. Something else to keep in mind is that this high blood sugar situation was probably hidden for many years before you were diagnosed. It can take a very long time of having insulin resistance before you develop diabetes.Â
Other complications of high blood sugar:
• Fatigue (especially after you eat lunch)
• Having to get up several times a night
• Constant thirstÂ
• Urinating constantlyÂ
• Skin tagsÂ
• Poor circulationÂ
What you could do:
• Bring your carbs way down (healthy keto)
• Do intermittent fastingÂ
• Take benfotiamine (4 capsules per day)Â

2:16 Effects of low DHA
3:20 The best sources of DHA
In this video, we’re going to talk about the best nutrient to boost learning. Did you know that a nutrient deficiency can inhibit your ability to learn effectively?
It all starts with the hippocampus. Your hippocampus is the structure in your brain that has to do with learning and spatial memory.
The omega-3 fatty acid called DHA makes up 20% of your brain’s grey matter (including your hippocampus). DHA also helps…
• Support your retina
• Lower oxidative stress/acts as an antioxidant
• Reduce inflammation
• Increase BDNF (this helps your brain grow)
• Boost the volume of the hippocampus
As you age, the structure of your hippocampus shrinks. In turn, this can affect your ability to learn and maintain spatial memory. If you’re DHA deficient, your hippocampus will get even smaller.
Taking omega-3 fatty acids can greatly benefit the hippocampus and improve your ability to learn.
DHA is involved with the synapses—these allow communication between neurons.
Low levels of DHA can even cause ADHD and dyslexia. The brain and retinas depend on DHA.
If an infant is not breastfed, the makeup of their retina may be abnormal due to low levels of DHA. In fact, DHA can even influence a child’s IQ.
The best sources of DHA are:
• Fatty fish
• Cod liver oil
• Algae

2:57 A few more things you could do for flat feetÂ
Today we’re going to talk about arch supports and how they could actually make someone’s flat feet worse. My theory is that the cause of flat feet is either a manganese deficiency at birth or a vitamin D deficiency at birth. I believe this could set a child up to have either a weakened structure of the arch or a bone malformation.Â
Over time, I have found that stretching and working on the front part of the leg and the top of the foot brings much more relief than working on the parts that are in pain, like the under part of the leg or the bottom of the foot.Â
If the bottom of the foot is cramping, by stretching the muscles in the top part of the foot that stem up into the front part of the leg, you will send signals to the muscle that’s cramping. These signals will relax the muscle.Â
What you could do for flat feet:
1. Stretch the feet (try my unique flat feet stretch)
2. Get a foot massage (have them work not only on the foot but the front part of the lower leg as well)
3. Allow your feet to strengthen on their own (take the arch supports out)Â

2:27 What you could do
In this video, I want to talk about why it may be beneficial to do fasting before, during, and after surgery. Fasting creates some interesting effects to help speed up the healing process.Â
How fasting can help speed up the healing process:
1. There is a spike in ketones
Ketones are anti-inflammatory. Surgery, trauma, or injury all cause pain and inflammation. Fasting may help decrease the pain as well.Â
2. It stimulates autophagyÂ
This is a condition where you recycle damaged proteins.Â
3. It can increase human growth hormone
This has everything to do with growing muscle and proteins.Â
Carbohydrates create more inflammation and blood sugar issues. Carbo-loading after an operation could just create more inflammation.Â
If you’re going to have surgery, and you have the ability to prepare for the surgery, it may be best to start intermittent fasting 2 weeks before the surgery. This way, you’re fully adapted to fat-burning, and you can go into the surgery without any problems with the blood sugars. Right after the surgery, you may want to do a more prolonged fast (at least 48 hours).Â
During your fast, it may be best to take certain nutrients, such as:
• Sea salt
• Electrolytes
• B-vitaminsÂ
• Amino acidsÂ
• Vitamin D

2:12 Summary
2:30 Keto recipe channel promo
In this video, I’m going to talk about why men who are overweight often have low testosterone.
Your body can turn androgen—which includes testosterone—into estrogen with an enzyme called aromatase. If you have too much aromatase, you will develop an imbalance of too much estrogen and not enough androgen.
If you have this problem, you may experience these signs of low testosterone:
1. Breast tissue
2. Depression
3. Anxiety
4. Decreased libido
Aromatase is made in several different tissues throughout the body, including bone, brain, testicle, and fat tissue.
The more fat you have in your body—both subcutaneous and visceral—the more aromatase you will have. In turn, you can develop low testosterone. High levels of estrogen can also block testosterone.
To fix low testosterone, you have to lose weight. The best way to lose weight is to go on a healthy ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting plan.
While you’re losing weight, you can also use aromatase inhibitors as well as compounds that help build up testosterone. These include:
• DIM (a concentrated cruciferous compound)
• Stinging nettle root
• Zinc

In this video, we’re going to talk about the therapeutic benefits of silica. The form of silica we’re going to cover is called orthosilicic acid. Certain parts of the body have high amounts of silica, especially the aorta, trachea, bones, and skin. As people age, these parts of the body become rough, rigid, and inelastic. But, silica may help slow down this process.
Benefits of silica:
• It can stimulate collagen type 1
• It can stimulate skin fibroblasts
• It can help bone mineralization (bone density)
• It can help decrease blood pressure
• It’s involved in calcification of the bone, and it has similar effects to vitamin D
• It chelates aluminum
• It can prevent the loss of skin elasticity
Two great sources of silica are:
• Mineral water
• Vegetables

1:35 The most important thing to do for kidney stonesÂ
This video is for people who are prone to kidney stones. The most common type of kidney stone is the calcium oxalate stone. It just so happens that the foods that are high in oxalates are also high in other things that protect you against the accumulation of oxalates and calcium.Â
For example, fiber reduces the excretion of calcium and oxalates throughout the kidneys. High fiber foods like spinach, Swiss chard, beet tops, and rhubarb are high in oxalates, but they are also loaded with magnesium, potassium, and phytates. These foods could potentially reduce the risk of kidney stones. I don’t recommend that you consume these specific foods, but other high fiber vegetables. Â
The most important thing to do for kidney stones:
• Make sure your fluids are at least 2.5 liters every day
• Consume at least 7 cups of vegetables every day

500 mg of calcium daily increases your risk of heart attack by 30% and stroke by 20%.
Using calcium and vitamin D regularly does not reduce the risk of osteoporotic fractures—but it does increase the risk of kidney stones.
Calcium is tightly regulated. Too much calcium, iron, or copper can all cause serious health problems.
You have a lot more leniency with minerals like magnesium and potassium since your body will just get rid of the excess.
30% of people in the US have calcification in their arteries. I believe this is partly due to so much calcium supplementation.
A coronary artery calcification test will give you a good idea of how much calcification is in your arteries.
Milk-alkali syndrome is a condition where someone is consuming too much calcium. This condition leads to kidney failure, psychosis, dizziness, confusion, poor appetite, and death. This can be due to drinking too much milk or taking too many antacids.
It’s best to get your calcium naturally from food and avoid calcium carbonate.
Osteoporosis is a severe loss of bone mass and density. Bone is made from protein, minerals, and calcium—not just calcium. Osteopenia is a lesser version of osteoporosis. Osteomalacia is when the bones become soft—also known as rickets in children.
These are all a result of a vitamin D deficiency. Stress, cortisol, malabsorption, low estrogen, and steroids are all contributors to osteoporosis.
Vitamin D increases calcium absorption by 20X. Without vitamin D, you would have to take 20X the calcium to absorb enough for healthy bones. Vitamin K2 is also vital. It helps keep calcium in your bones and not in your arteries.
Get plenty of sunlight and eat healthy to support your bones.
Regular exercise is also important in avoiding osteoporosis.

2:35 The most important fatÂ
Today we’re going to talk about dietary fats and what type of fat your body thrives on.Â
Short-chain fatty acidsÂ
These are made from fiber. They feed the colon cells, potentially decrease the risk of cancer, and can help with insulin resistance.Â
Medium-chain fatty acidsÂ
MCT oil is an example of medium-chain fatty acids. Medium-chain fatty acids don’t require bile to be absorbed. This can be a great source of fat for fuel if a person doesn’t have enough bile.Â
Long-chain fatty acidsÂ
These fats provide fuel and certain elements for structural parts of the body, and they also provide essential fatty acids.Â
A few examples of long-chain fatty acids would be:
• Animal fatÂ
• Butter
• Coconut oilÂ
• Palm oilÂ
• Vegetable oils
• Nut oilsÂ
• Omega-3 fatty acidsÂ
The most important type of fat that the body needs is omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA). A good portion of the brain, as well as the retinas, need this type of fat. It’s also anti-inflammatory. You can get omega-3 fatty acids from fish oils, cod liver oil, salmon, and even algae.Â
Other fats will provide energy and feed the colon. But if you lower your carb intake, your body will get its energy from its own body fat, and it won’t be dependent on dietary fat until you run out.Â

2:35 More on kidney stonesÂ
3:18 The microbiome and bile saltsÂ
4:00 What to doÂ
Today I want to cover gallstones vs. kidney stones. A gallstone is a cholesterol stone caused by a lack of bile. A gallstone can be a good indicator that you have low bile. A kidney stone is more of a calcium stone. Kidney stones can create a lot of pain, and they can obstruct urine flow.Â
With different types of malabsorption problems, there is actually a high risk of gallstones and kidney stones.Â
Bile binds with calcium and oxalates. Bile may help decrease the risk of building up calcium oxalates in the kidney. There can be a bile deficiency present when a person has gallstones or kidney stones.Â
Fiber could also decrease the risk of kidney stones. Vegetables contain fiber, magnesium, and potassium, and may be helpful in decreasing the risk of kidney stones.Â
If you’re at risk for kidney stones, it’s important to consume at least 2.5 liters of fluids every day.Â
Your liver and your friendly bacteria make bile salts. If there is a problem with your microbes, you could become deficient in bile, which could increase your risk of both kidney stones and gallstones.Â
What to do to help decrease the risk of gallstones and kidney stones:
• Make sure you have fiberÂ
• Have at least 2.5 liters of fluids every day
• Take care of your microbiomeÂ
If you’re developing a kidney stone or gallstone, you may also want to start taking purified bile salts.Â

In this video, we’re going to talk about diabetes 1.5. What is diabetes 1.5? This is a combination of type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes.
Diabetes type 1 is the destruction of the beta cells. These are the cells in the pancreas that create insulin. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease. The body’s own antibodies attack the cells that create insulin. In turn, you have to take insulin.
Type 2 diabetes is the problem not with insulin production, but the body’s ability to use insulin. Your receptors no longer use insulin efficiently because they’ve become resistant to insulin.
Diabetes 1.5 is when you have a problem with both creating insulin and your cell’s ability to receive insulin—it’s like double diabetes.
This condition is happening more and more in children.
In my opinion, this is not a problem with diet; it’s a problem with vaccinations. A child gets about 80 vaccinations. This creates a lot of inflammation from repeated stimulation of the immune system. Then, you have cortisol that comes in that is an anti-inflammatory. If there’s not enough cortisol, there’s still going to be enough inflammation to create damage in the cells of the pancreas.
You didn’t see this problem back in the early 90s or 80s. It’s after all of these vaccinations were introduced.
Symptoms of diabetes 1.5 include:
• Frequent urination
• Excessive thirst
• Weight loss
• Blurred vision
• Nerve damage (tingling and numbness in limbs)
• Vision problems
To know if you have diabetes, you need to have a test done.
In my practice, I would see people start out with type 2 diabetes and then progress to type 1.5 diabetes.
Here are some tips for dealing with diabetes 1.5:
1. Eat foods high in nutrients—especially phytonutrients
2. Increase your vitamin D
3. Increase zinc
4. Increase vitamin B1
5. Use nicotinamide

In this video, we’re going to talk about dealing with high cholesterol and LDL on keto.
Two organs in your body make cholesterol—your liver and your intestines. Bile salts control the majority of your cholesterol.
Excess cholesterol is eliminated through various pathways that involve bile. What this means is that bile gets rid of cholesterol, and cholesterol levels are dependent on bile.
Your intestines have receptors called bile acids receptors (BAR). BARs suppress cholesterol.
There’s a condition called essential hypercholesterolemia. This is when you have an excess amount of cholesterol in your bloodstream. “Essential” means that they don’t know what causes it. This includes familial hypercholesterolemia—this means it’s genetic.
A high-fat diet can cause hypercholesterolemia. Hypothyroidism, kidney damage, and bile deficiency can also cause this problem.
What causes a deficiency in bile? Liver damage is the primary factor. Fatty liver, liver inflammation (hepatitis), liver fibrosis, and cirrhosis can all cause a deficiency in bile. Anything that decreases liver function decreases bile production.
Intestinal damage can cause a bile deficiency. Numerous conditions and medications—including antibiotics—can contribute to poor intestinal health. In turn, this will increase your cholesterol.
Taking purified bile salts and probiotics can help improve your overall bile.
