In this video, I’m going to answer the question: why did keto raise my blood pressure? This is a question I recently got from a viewer, so I wanted to make a quick video on this topic.
First, it’s important to understand that you have this stuff called glycogen. This is stored glucose or sugar. Glycogen needs potassium. For every molecule of glucose, you need one molecule of potassium. One molecule of glucose also retains 3-3.5 molecules of water.
It helps to think of glycogen as a sponge—it soaks up and holds a lot of water.
Glycogen is stored in your liver and muscles.
When you do keto and intermittent fasting, you deplete the glycogen in your liver. You’re left with only the glycogen in your muscle. In turn, the glycogen you burn also gets rid of the water and potassium it retains. This may cause dehydration and low electrolytes/potassium.
One of the primary causes of hypertension is low potassium.
Not only do you lose a lot of potassium while adapting to keto, but also your requirement goes way up. Additionally, many people are already low on potassium, which makes matters worse.
The best remedy for this issue is to do the healthy version of keto. How? There are two things:
1. Get around 1,000 mg of potassium
2. Consume 7-10 cups of vegetables per day
This will help support weight loss and also promote a healthy body and blood pressure level.

Should You Do Juicing on Keto or While Fasting?

6:00 Bile salts and cravings
6:40 Need keto consulting?
In this video, I’m going to answer the question, can you do juicing while on a keto and intermittent fasting plan?
In general, I do not think that juicing is the best idea on keto or while fasting—unless you’re doing a juice powder. Why? Because many vegetable juices can contain more carbs than you would expect. In turn, this can low down ketosis and weight loss.
When calculating the carbs in a vegetable, you want to subtract the fiber from the total carbs, which will give you the net carbs. Juicing removes the fiber from the vegetables, which means you can no longer subtract it from the total carbs. One cup of juice will have more net carbs than one cup of whole vegetable because of the fiber content.
Additionally, juicing can remove a lot of the phytonutrients in vegetables. Phytonutrients have powerful health benefits.
If you find it difficult not to have juice because of cravings, try using inositol. This is a form of natural sugar alcohol (known as vitamin B8) that helps with insulin resistance. If you can repair insulin resistance, you will have a much easier time fighting off cravings.
Bile salts can also help reduce cravings. Bile helps you break down and absorb healthy fats that keep you feeling satisfied after eating.

In this video, we’re going to talk about why you may have red spots on your skin.
Low levels of vitamin K1 can cause poor blood clotting. In turn, you may have red, pink, or purple spots. If you have low vitamin C, then you may have impaired capillary strength, which can cause red or purple spots.
In nature, vitamin K1 and vitamin C tend to come from the same sources. You want to consume plenty of vegetables to get both of these powerful nutrients.
Your gut makes vitamin K1. So if you have poor gut health, this could be a reason why your K1 levels are low.
Though it’s very rare, low calcium can cause red spots on your skin. Another cause of red spots is a viral infection.
There are two primary underlying causes of having red spots on your skin:
1. Diet – You need to consume healthy nutrients to get all of your vitamins. It is especially important that you have 7-10 cups of vegetables per day.
2. Malabsorption – If you can’t absorb your nutrients, you can develop deficiencies even if you consume the right foods. Probiotics and bile salts may help improve digestion and absorption.
The best sources of vitamin K1 are:
• Kale
• Spinach
• Collard greens
• Dark leafy greens
The best sources of vitamin C are:
• Sauerkraut
• Bell pepper
• Berries
• Lemon
See if these tips help improve red spots on your skin.

In this video, we’re going to talk about the tapeworm diet. I’ve seen ads for this diet, with claims like “get rid of life-threatening fat without exercise, dieting, or surgery.” Is this true?
This is not a new diet. But many are still curious about how it works. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons.
Pros:
• Eat whatever you want
• No dieting
• No depriving of food
• Tapeworm eats the extra calories
Cons:
• May not lose weight until you remove it
• Increases appetite, especially for carbs
• Tapeworm diet is a tapeworm infection
• Removing it has side effects, including brain swelling
• Can’t control where it attaches
• Side effects, including pain, diarrhea, and fever
Overall, tapeworms are a very bad idea. You essentially infect your body with a parasite that sucks away important nutrients.
Removing the parasite is a whole other issue. You can do it surgically or with medication. The medication also has some serious side effects, including neurological issues.

Should you do a liver cleanse for serious liver problems? Here’s what you need to know!
Timestamps
0:00 Will a liver cleanse help cirrhosis or a fatty liver?
0:38 Arginase and detoxification
2:33 Liver cleanses and liver health
In this video, we’re going to talk about the question, will a liver cleanse help cirrhosis or a fatty liver?
Cirrhosis is an advanced situation—your risk for cancer goes way up.
First, let’s start by talking about an enzyme called arginase. Arginase is involved in the urea cycle. When you break down amino acids, the extra amount of it passes through as waste.
Arginase makes sure there’s a complete break down so this waste can exit the body without causing toxicity. Without arginase, you have an incomplete breakdown of arginine. In turn, you get higher amounts of ammonia in the blood.
Ammonia is not good for your brain and other tissues. It can cause a lot of very bad side effects—like coma, dementia, seizures, and tremors.
Fat in the liver can cause inflammation, scar tissue, and fatty liver.
Will a liver cleanse help these issues?
Unfortunately, a liver cleanse will hardly even touch these problems. Instead, it could even stir up more problems and make symptoms worse.
Instead, there are 7 things you can do to promote a healthy liver…
1. Keto – a cleaner fuel source
2. Fasting – reduces inflammation
3. Reduce protein – less than 3oz a meal to reduce stress on the liver
4. Plenty of L-arginine manganese – helps reduce ammonia
5. Increase vegetables – 7-10 cups a day
6. Tocotrienol – this is a powerful antioxidant-rich form of vitamin E
7. Probiotics – these can help reduce ammonia in the body

The first symptom of vitamin D deficiency is typically low back pain. You might also have bone pain or difficulty getting up from a seated position. There is a huge influence of vitamin D controlling neuromuscular function.
Every muscle cell (myocyte) has a receptor for vitamin D (VDR).
Vitamin D and muscular function:
1. It can help muscle strength
2. It can help stabilize posture
3. Your quads, glutes, and iliopsoas are all influenced by vitamin D
4. It can greatly affect your physical performance

In this video, we’re going to talk about COPD or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is also often called emphysema.
Symptoms of COPD can include:
• Shortness of breath
• Coughing
• Mucus
COPD is a chronic condition that often leads to pulmonary hypertension. This is when the blood pressure in your lungs increases, which causes a lot of stress on the right ventricle of your heart. This will eventually weaken the heart and cause edema.
You have little pouches called alveoli in your lung tissue. When you have COPD, these pouches become deformed as a result of inflammation and irritation from smoke or some other chronic inflammatory substance. Alveoli exchanges CO2 for oxygen in the blood.
While the lungs try to heal, your body creates scar tissue in your lungs, also known as fibrosis. As this scarring builds up, you lose your ability to exchange CO2 and oxygen, which is why you have difficulty breathing.
What can you do for COPD? Here’s what research shows:
1. Get plenty of tocotrienols (300 mg)
2. Boost your vitamin D (40,000 IUs)
3. Fasting
4. Keto
5. Vitamin C
6. Osha root
7. Mormon tea
8. Vitamin B1
9. Stop smoking – smoke and nicotine are big problems when it comes to COPD
