Should you consume eggs if you have an autoimmune condition? Here’s what you need to know.

2:53 Don’t want to get an allergy test?

Today let’s talk about whether or not it’s a good idea to consume eggs if you have an autoimmune condition. Most autoimmune diseases stem from gut damage. About 80% of your immune system is located in the digestive system.

If there is a break in the lining of the colon, causing leaky gut, proteins can leak into the lymphatic system. If a protein, like the protein in milk, wheat, or eggs, ends up in the lymphatic system, your immune system may tag the protein as a foreign toxin. Now you would have an allergy to this protein, and every time you have it, you’ll become inflamed.

These allergic reactions could actually set you up for an autoimmune disease. This is where you have antibodies that are attacking your own tissues.

If you have an autoimmune condition, you may want to get an allergy test. This way, you can identify what you’re allergic to, like casein or eggs. If you’re consuming eggs or casein on the keto diet and you have an autoimmune condition, this could make things worse.

Common allergies:
• Dairy (cheese, milk, yogurt)
• Grains (gluten)
• Eggs
• Nuts

If you have an autoimmune condition, you may also want to avoid vegetable oils. Vegetable oils are very inflammatory, and dealing with autoimmune conditions is all about reducing inflammation.

When you do healthy keto and intermittent fasting as well as periodic prolonged fasting, you may even find that some of your allergies eventually go away because you’re strengthening your immune system.

Timestamps

0:10 What you need to know about triglycerides
1:53 Causes of high triglycerides

Why would your triglycerides be high while doing keto? Normally, your triglycerides should be low, but if they’re high, there could be several reasons why.

Your fat is a storage place for triglycerides. When you do keto, the triglycerides are mobilized, and they come out of the fat cell. They’re there to be used as energy.

I believe fasting 12-14 hours before you get your triglycerides tested is very important. This way, the test isn’t affected by what you just ate or drank that may have temporarily caused your triglycerides to be higher. Consuming alcohol or carbs two days before the test can also cause your triglycerides to be temporarily high.

A few potential causes of high triglycerides:
• A hypothyroid condition
• A problem with the gallbladder
• The transitional phase of keto
• Hidden carbohydrates
• Hidden fats

0:10 Tea and toast syndrome
0:40 Causes of nutritional deficiencies in the elderly
1:50 Top nutritional deficiencies in the elderly

Today I want to cover the top nutritional deficiencies in the elderly. This is actually a big problem.

There is even something called “tea and toast syndrome,” which develops over time as a person’s diet degenerates into things like bread, crackers, and even canned meats. A lot of deficiencies can be created from this type of diet. Typical foods served in nursing homes, such as many cooked foods, sugary foods, low-quality foods, and snacks, can also lead to deficiencies.

A lot of the elderly also take synthetic vitamins. The first ingredient in a lot of synthetic vitamins is calcium carbonate, which can be a problem. Medications are another thing that can also deplete vitamins.

The older you get, the less stomach acid you’re going to have. This means that you’re not going to be able to digest protein or pull in the amino acids, which are needed to help repair and heal the body. In this situation, it will also be harder to absorb vitamin B12, which can create a range of issues.

Top nutritional deficiencies in the elderly:
1. Vitamin D
2. Vitamin B1
3. Potassium
4. Magnesium
5. Sodium
6. Trace minerals (especially zinc)

In this video, we’re going to talk about some of the nutritional deficiencies that can be created when you consume too much alcohol—primarily beer. If you’re someone who drinks a lot of beer, this video is for you.

There’s a medical condition called potomania, which involves drinking a lot of beer and creating a severe electrolyte imbalance.

When you consume beer, you deplete your nutrients, including:
• Sodium
• Potassium
• Magnesium
• Calcium

You can also experience a situation called hyponatremia, which is extremely low sodium in your blood. This can cause:
• Dizziness
• Weakness
• Seizures
• Headaches
• Coma
• Inability to think
• Confusion
• Nausea

These issues can be compounded by:
• Being out in the sun
• Sweating
• Vomiting
• Eating carbs
• Taking diuretics
• Diabetes

When you drink beer, you can experience deficiencies, which then cause health issues that require medications, which can also deplete more nutrients—this is a repeating cycle that can really affect your health.

High Creatinine in the Blood

Do you have high levels of creatinine in the blood, but it’s low in the kidneys? Here are a few reasons why this may be happening.

Timestamps
0:00 High creatinine in the blood
0:10 Creatine
0:42 Causes of high creatinine in the blood

What does it mean if you have high creatinine in your blood? There is something called creatine that converts to creatinine, which is a waste product. It’s supposed to go through the urine, but if it’s backing up into the blood, this can mean that there could potentially be a kidney problem or something else going on.

Creatine, in general, helps recycle ATP (an energy currency). Many people take creatine for their exercise performance.

A few causes of high creatinine in the blood (but it’s low in the kidneys):
1. Kidney damage
2. Ace inhibitors
3. Intense exercise
4. More muscle mass
5. Too much dietary meat (cooked)
6. Creatine supplements

0:00 Keto didn’t help my joint pain
0:14 Why keto and intermittent fasting help joint pain
0:52 What to do when keto and fasting do not help your joint pain
4:45 Need keto consulting?

In this video, we’re going to talk about why keto didn’t help your joint pain. If you’re on keto and it hasn’t helped your joint pain, the first thing you want to do is make sure you’re also doing intermittent fasting.

When you lower your carbs and do fasting, pain often goes away because of lower levels of inflammation. Ketones are anti-inflammatory compounds. When you fast, you go through autophagy—this is your body’s way of clearing out old and damaged proteins.

Keto and fasting also help support a healthy immune system, which helps block inflammatory processes that may contribute to your joint pain.

If keto and fasting do not help you with your joint pain, these may be the reasons:

1. DJD (degenerative joint disease)

2. Low vitamin D3 – powerful natural inflammatory

3. Low vitamin K2 – helps transport calcium from joints to your bones

4. High omega-6 fatty acids

5. Low omega-3 fatty acids

6. Gallbladder issues (often with right shoulder pain)

7. Muscle compensation – this can put stress on your joints

Put this information to use and see if it helps you.

Does fasting increase adrenaline and cause stress? Here’s what you need to know.

Timestamps
0:00 Does fasting increase adrenaline?
0:15 Fasting and adrenaline
1:15 Fasting and cortisol

Does fasting increase adrenaline, causing stress? Let’s talk about that. No, I don’t believe fasting causes stress.

It’s true that the pre-adrenaline hormone or neurotransmitter noradrenaline increases by about 48%. But, your resting metabolic rate also goes up. So, fasting actually helps your metabolism.

During fasting, you’re in ketosis. You’re living on fatty acids and ketones. In order to mobilize this fat, you have to stimulate the fat-burning hormones and adrenaline. Adrenaline is there to mobilize the fat.

Short-term fasting can elevate cortisol, which is a stress hormone. But, this is a normal process. Cortisol helps mobilize stored sugar. It’s actually involved in preventing hypoglycemia. But, long-term fasting decreases cortisol.

Fasting on a regular basis may actually make people feel more calm, relaxed, and stress-free.

Hydrochloric Acid:

Are antacids really the best way to go? Here are the two underlying reasons for GERD and what may really be helpful if you have GERD.

2:30 What you could do for GERD

In this video, I’m going to cover the two main underlying reasons for GERD.

1. A vitamin D deficiency
Vitamin D can control muscle function to a large degree. When we’re dealing with the stomach, we’re dealing with smooth muscle. Vitamin D increases calcium absorption, and it’s all about contractibility. If you lack vitamin D, you could have incomplete closure of the valve that keeps the acid in the stomach. This could damage the cells of the esophagus, create inflammation, and even potentially increase the risk of cancer.

*In this situation, taking about 30,000 IUs of vitamin D3 per day may be beneficial.

2. Lower amounts of HCL (hydrochloric acid) in the stomach
This is a very common problem for people as they age. Antacids can also actually decrease stomach acid. When you don’t have enough hydrochloric acid in the stomach, you get incomplete closure of the valve that keeps the acid in the stomach. A lack of hydrochloric acid can also cause incomplete digestion, especially of protein. One of the main symptoms is gas, which can pop open the valve.

*In this situation, taking betaine hydrochloride and apple cider vinegar may be beneficial.

Are you experiencing pain in your right trap? There’s an easy fix!

In this video, we’re going to talk about a common problem many people have. This problem involves tightness in your traps—especially your right trap.

This is actually a very easy problem to fix, and the problem may not actually be what you think it is.

When you experience right trap pain, it often isn’t your trap muscle at all. Instead, it’s the levator scapulae muscle. Even further, the actual root cause of this pain has to do with the phrenic nerve.

The phrenic nerve goes through the diaphragm up to the third and the fifth vertebra—one on the left and one on the right side of your body.

When your gallbladder or liver is inflamed, congested, or swollen, it puts pressure on the phrenic nerve. This refers pain up to your neck.

Inflammation in the bile ducts can cause a sort of clog that creates inflammation in the liver.

The remedy is simple:
1. Lower your carbohydrates
2. Decrease omega-6 fatty acids
3. Take purified bile salts
4. Consume a moderate amount of fat
5. Eliminate snacking
6. Do keto and intermittent fasting

This will essentially help bile drain from your liver and gallbladder so you don’t experience that referred trap pain.

Give these tips a try and see if they work for you.

K2 Inhibits Vascular and Joint Calcification

1:55 Vitamin K2 sources

Lately, I’ve been talking a lot about vitamin D, but I’ve been neglecting vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 is a fat-soluble vitamin, and it can actually help inhibit vascular and joint calcification. It helps keep your joints and arteries from becoming bone.

Vitamin K2 functions:
• Vitamin K2 activates an inhibitory protein called the matrix Gla protein. This protein helps stop calcium from forming in the arteries and joints.

• Vitamin K2 helps form bone and makes the bones more mineralized. It makes the bones stronger.

• Vitamin K2 can help decrease insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is involved in damaging the arteries, which causes calcification. Insulin resistance also creates inflammation in the joints.

Vitamin K2 helps keep the calcium out of the wrong place and put it back in the right place. It also inhibits the very root cause of why it’s even there (insulin resistance).

You would want to take vitamin D3 with vitamin K2. If you were to take 10,000 IUs of vitamin D3, you might also want to take 100mcg of vitamin K2 (MK-7).

Foods high in vitamin K2:
• Animal liver (pâté)
• Fermented foods
• Natto
• Grass-fed meat
• Egg yolk
• Hard and soft cheese
• Salami
• Sauerkraut
• Grass-fed butter
