In this video, I’m going to talk to you about vitamin K2 and some of the functions that go way beyond bone health.

When we talk about vitamin K2, most people associate it with strengthening your bones and removing soft tissue calcium from the joints and arteries. Vitamin K2 does so much more.

The health of your bones is important in the production of immune cells—white blood cells originate in the bone marrow. Your bones also act as endocrine glands. They create a hormone called osteocalcin. Vitamin K2 triggers osteocalcin, which can affect blood sugars.

Here are some of the many benefits of vitamin K2:
1. Improves insulin resistance
2. Increases insulin sensitivity
3. Suppresses inflammation
4. Decreases fat accumulation
5. Increases energy capacity
6. Increases testosterone

The best food sources of vitamin K2 are:
• Natto
• Butter
• Egg yolk
• Goose liver
• Pepperoni
• Salami
• Sausage
• Sauerkraut
• Grass-fed cheese (muenster, gouda, brie, edam, and hard cheeses)

The reason why these are mostly animal products is that animals consume grass, which contains vitamin K1, and they convert it into vitamin K2. The vitamin K2 found in natto and sauerkraut are formed by bacteria in the fermentation process.

The Problem With Preventing a Heart Attack

What is Vitamin K2:

Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:

Could you be causing a heart problem by trying to prevent a heart attack? Check this out.

2:55 What to do if you’re on warfarin
3:27 What to do if you’re on a diuretic
4:00 What to do if you’re on a statin

Today we’re going to talk about the problems with trying to prevent a heart attack.

Let’s say you have hypertension,f and you’re on a diuretic. Well, the side effect of diuretics could potentially increase your insulin and create more of a problem within your arteries.

What if you’re on statins for high cholesterol? Statins could potentially increase the risk of calcification in the arteries. It could also shut down testosterone, and it could decrease CoQ10.

Anti-clotting medications like warfarin could increase the risk of calcification, not just in the arteries, but systemically.

Out of all of these issues, I believe the most important thing to focus on is making sure you do not build up calcium plaque in the arteries. The amount of calcium in the arteries is the biggest risk factor for mortality from a heart attack.

A CAC test can help give you a lot of information about what’s going on inside of your arteries. The test score should be zero, but it could go over 1000. If you find out you have a high score and there is a high amount of calcium plaquing, there is something natural you could try. You may want to try taking vitamin K2. Vitamin K2 is a very important vitamin that could potentially remove the calcium from your arteries. You could take the MK7 version between 200 and 300 micrograms every day.

If you’re on warfarin, you may want to check with your doctor and see if there is another medication you could take that would do the same thing but also allows you to take vitamin K2. You could also see if you could take vitamin K2 and, at the same time, take more warfarin.

If you’re on a diuretic, you may want to research and speak with your doctor about taking 40,000 IUs of vitamin D3 while also increasing potassium. To get the potassium you need, you could try consuming 7-10 cups of vegetables per day.

If you have high cholesterol, you may want to get on a healthy keto diet as well as start doing intermittent fasting.

In this video, I want to talk about a good remedy for leg cramps—especially at night.

The best remedy for leg cramps at night is quinine bark. Now, I’m not talking about the synthetic version that you need a prescription for. I’m talking about the natural bark, which contains a lot less of the active ingredient, quinine.

People have been using quinine bark as a remedy for numerous health issues for hundreds and hundreds of years. This natural bark was forgotten about for a while when the synthetic version came out. However, quinine bark has made a huge comeback recently.

Quinine bark has been used for:
• Malaria
• Parasites
• Viruses
• Fever reduction
• Pain reduction
• Heartbeat regulation
• Digestion

Quinine bark works by blocking sodium channels.

One of the biggest benefits of quinine is its ability to prevent leg cramps at night. Now, personally, I would only try this remedy after I’ve tried increasing my potassium and magnesium—which are electrolytes.

You can find quinine bark at your local health foods store or online.

Use Fasting To Get Rid of Chronic Pain

Use fasting to help get rid of chronic pain naturally. Find out how this works.

Fasting and Chronic Inflammation:

0:30 Fasting benefits for pain
3:06 Frequent eating and chronic pain

In this video, we’re going to talk about how to help get rid of chronic pain by fasting. The influence of fasting on chronic pain is huge. Doing a prolonged fast, or doing intermittent fasting on a regular basis may help you achieve these benefits.

How could fasting potentially help with chronic pain?

1. You’re going to generate ketones
Ketones are an alternative fuel source that has antioxidant properties. Ketones also have anti-pain properties, and they protect neurons.

2. It releases and helps recycle serotonin
Serotonin is involved in a person’s mood. It can help reduce neuropathic pain and reduce fibromyalgia. Low amounts of serotonin can cause pain.

3. It stimulates neurogenesis
Neurogenesis is the regrowing of nerve cells. If you have nerve damage that’s causing pain, and you have more ability to grow that nerve, then your pain could go away faster.

4. It releases endorphins
This will not only help increase your mood, but it could also help decrease your pain.

5. Neurotransmitter receptors

6. It increases BDNF
This is almost like miracle grow for the brain. It could help the brain grow back much better if there’s damage.

**Frequent eating or overeating could create a lot of oxidation in the vascular system that feeds the nerves.

Apple Cider Vinegar vs White Vinegar: The Big Difference

Apple cider vinegar vs. white vinegar: what are the differences, and which should you choose? Find out.

Timestamps:
0:00 Apple cider vinegar vs. white vinegar
1:30 Which is better
3:33 Benefits of vinegar

Today we’re going to talk about apple cider vinegar vs. distilled white vinegar. Does it matter which one you take?

Apple cider vinegar:
• 5-6% acetic acid
• Source: raw apples
• 1 tbsp has 11mg of potassium
• Certain types have the “mother” which has a tiny bit of bacteria, fiber, and enzymes

White vinegar
• 4-7% acetic acid
• Source: barley, corn, sugar, potato, milk whey, grains
• Great cleanser

Which is better? It relates to the source. Organic apples are much better than the sources of white vinegar. Apple cider vinegar also has additional benefits that white vinegar doesn’t have. But, the effects of distilled white vinegar and apple cider vinegar are going to be very similar. However, because the sources of white vinegar are low-quality, I would say that apple cider vinegar is a better choice.

Major benefits of apple cider vinegar:
1. It’s a digestive aid
2. It can improve insulin sensitivity

The Worst Type of Fasting is…

Could you actually be doing the worst type of fasting? Find out.

Timestamps:

0:10 Alternate day fasting
0:23 5:2 fasting pattern
0:38 Why are these fasting patterns bad?
1:35 Good fasting patterns
2:49 Two important takeaways

Today we’re going to talk about the worst type of fasting you could do. I’m going to touch on two fasting patterns in this video.

Alternate day fasting is when you would fast for one day, and then the next day, you would eat whatever you wanted. There is also a version of this pattern where you’re actually still consuming about 500 calories on the days that you’re fasting.

With the 5:2 fasting pattern, you can eat whatever you want for five days, and then you fast for two days. This pattern also allows you to have about 500 calories on the days that you’re fasting.

These two patterns of fasting are bad because it takes 3-7 days to get into ketosis. Fasting for 1-2 days is not long enough to get into ketosis, especially when you’re actually still consuming 500 calories.

With these fasting patterns, you won’t generate enough ketones for your brain to feel good. You could end up miserable, hungry, grouchy, and you could have cravings.

Fasting patterns that I believe work are the:
• 18:6 — Fasting for 18 hours with a 6-hour eating window.

• 20:4 (even better) — Fasting for 20 hours with a 4-hour eating window.

These fasting patterns can produce a lot of benefits. You also:
• Won’t be hungry
• Won’t have cravings
• Won’t be grouchy

Something else to note is that it only takes a small amount of carbs to knock you out of ketosis for a good amount of time.

Why Eggs Protect Your Liver if You’re Postmenopausal?

What can you do if you’re postmenopausal and you’ve started to develop a fatty liver? Find out.

0:55 Why is choline good if you’re postmenopausal?
1:27 Taking estrogen
1:40 Choline and a fatty liver
2:00 Choline dosages and sources

Today we’re going to talk about why eggs are especially important for a postmenopausal female.

Egg yolks are loaded with choline. Choline is a vitamin that may help strip fat off of the liver. It could potentially prevent a fatty liver. If you’re deficient in choline, you could be more susceptible to getting a fatty liver. Choline also helps dissolve lipids and supports bile salts, which also break down fats. A choline deficiency could even cause constipation and affect memory.

Choline may be helpful for postmenopausal women because, during this time, a woman will have less estrogen. Estrogen actually protects against the loss of choline.

Some postmenopausal women will start taking estrogen. But, this can have some complications, such as an increased risk of cancer and stroke.

Choline could be a really good supplement for a woman who is postmenopausal if she has problems digesting fat or if she begins to develop fat in the liver. Choline may potentially help reverse a fatty liver.

Having a fatty liver could set a person up for having cirrhosis. Choline may help stop that process from occurring.

In my opinion, it may be beneficial for a person to have about 425mg a day. Your body actually makes some choline, but not nearly enough. A few good sources of choline are egg yolks and organ meats.

Will MCT Oil Break a Fast?

1:30 Can MCT oil break your fast?
1:45 Benefits of ketones

In this short video, we’re going to talk about MCT oil and fasting. Many people wonder if MCT oil will break a fast. I want to answer this question.

MCT oil stands for medium-chain triglycerides. It is a type of fat that is usually extracted from palm oil or coconut oil. Coconut oil has MCT oil in it, but when you’re taking MCT oil, you’re getting just medium-chain triglycerides. MCT oil is a type of fat that can turn into ketones very fast.

I define breaking a fast as diminishing the results of a fast.

Fasting benefits:
• Weight loss
• Cognitive benefits
• Mood benefits
• Decreased inflammation
• Anti-aging

These benefits come from ketones directly as well as turning on or turning off certain genes. For example, fasting may inhibit certain genes like cancer genes.

MCT oil will not break a fast very much and only for a very short period of time. This is because MCT oil turns into ketones very fast, and the benefits of ketones are huge.

Benefits of ketones:
1. Decreased hunger
2. Better brain energy
3. Easier transition to ketosis
4. Stimulates metabolism
5. Increased energy

In this video, I have an amazing success story to share with you. Guy Tenenbaum had stage 4 cancer. He is now cancer-free!

For many years, Guy dealt with numerous health problems, including:
• Type II diabetes
• Hypertension
• High cholesterol
• Joint and bone pain
• Chronic inflammation
• Weight problems

After repeatedly insisting on a PSA (a protein that can be produced cancerous tissue in the prostate) test, doctors discovered that Guy had serious cancer.

They told them that there was nothing they could do for him and that he only had a few months to live.

Guy then searched out other options and opinions. Other doctors told him the same story. But he did not give up hope—he did not accept what doctors told him was his fate.

Guy then decided to take his health into his own hands. He began to study everything he could on cancer.

Then, he discovered the realm of natural medicine and fasting. He fasted for 45 days. During his fast he consumed natural cancer-killing nutrients.

There are two key takeaways:
1. Prolonged fasting helps induce autophagy
2. Low or no-calorie nutrients and herbs are vital along the way to increase the cancer-killing power of fasting

Guy consumed:
• Green tea
• Ginger
• Turmeric
• Pepper
• Salt
• Protein supplements
• Vegetables
• Garlic (whole and supplements)

Today, Guy is healthy and cancer-free!

What Fasting Does to Growth Hormone

Growth hormone is the ultimate anti-aging hormone. Here’s how you can increase it by fasting!

3:13 Fasting and protein intake
4:24 Summary

In this video, we’re going to talk about how fasting influences growth hormone.

As you age, growth hormone decreases. When you’ve reached your 60s, 70s, and 80s, there’s not much growth hormone left. In turn, this affects your proteins, which causes your skin, joints, muscle, and hair to age.

Increasing growth hormone helps you preserve proteins that keep you looking youthful.

Growth hormone also helps you:
• Burn body fat
• Increase your lean muscle mass
• Preserve your muscle/prevent muscle loss
• Increase your bone density
• Boost your collagen

Growth hormone peaks at puberty, spikes when you’re sleeping, lowers when you eat, increases with high-intensity interval training, and plummets when you’re stressed.

Most importantly, growth hormone increases when you fast.

• A two-day fast increases growth hormone by up to 200%
• A three-day fast increases growth hormone by up to 300%
• A seven-day fast increases growth hormone by up to 1250%

Short-term fasting or intermittent fasting causes four-times better muscle preservation than a low-calorie diet. Fasting also inhibits protein breakdown—which is known as catabolism.

Fasting is an excellent way to support your brain and nervous system.

Keep in mind that the dietary recommendations for protein are between .6-.8 grams of protein per pound of body fat for each meal. You don’t necessarily need to have a protein shake or other protein supplement before every workout or during your fast.

The 5 Tips to STOP Grazing & Snacking

Snacking and grazing are two deadly health destroyers. Here’s how to stop.

Timestamps:
0:00 Snacking and grazing
0:05 The difference between grazing and snacking
0:48 The problems with snacking and grazing
3:18 Fasting
4:15 What to do

Today we’re going to talk about the problems with snacking and grazing, and how to stop snacking and grazing.

With snacking, you may have a certain time that you have a snack. With grazing, there’s no limit on how much you eat, what you eat, or when you eat. You eat constantly. I believe some of the worst advice a person can give is to snack to prevent overeating.

When people start snacking and grazing, they can get into a cycle of raising their blood sugar and insulin, then dropping their blood sugar. Eating causes hunger about one and a half hours later, especially when consuming carbohydrates. Then, the process repeats. If someone is stuck in this snacking cycle, eventually, they could develop high insulin, which could then lead to insulin resistance.

Eating and depression:
You might feel better temporarily, but then the high insulin could cause depression to worsen.

Eating when tired:
The more you eat to try to get more energy, the more tired you’ll be.

Eating when bored or stressed:
The more you eat when bored or stressed, the more you release cortisol, which could cause you to be more stressed.

Eating carbs for pleasure:
You could spike dopamine, putting yourself at risk for developing dopamine resistance.

Eating for no reason:
Some people eat because the food is there, and then they get stuck in the snacking trap.

Many people don’t realize that when they do fasting correctly, they can put the body in a condition where there is no hunger or cravings. This is because your body is essentially eating your own fat all day long. Fat generates ketones, which is a clean fuel. You’ll feel good, you could have improved cognitive function, and you could have an enhanced mood.

What to do:
1. Do not eat breakfast (most important)
2. Understand that eating causes hunger
3. Do not make junk foods available
4. Stay very active
5. Avoid carbs when you eat
