Are You Turning into a Germophobe?

Are you a germophobe? You might find it helpful to know that not all microbes are bad! Check this out.

Are you becoming a germophobe? I’m not against protecting yourself against the coronavirus or any virus for that matter. Yes, masks and washing your hands are incredibly important. But, here’s the thing, not all microbes are harmful.

Friendly microbes are not pathogenic. Pathogens are microbes that can cause disease. A huge part of your immune system is friendly microbes. These microbes live all over your body on the inside and out. When you over-sterilize your body, this can lower your immune system and make you more susceptible to infections.

A few benefits of your friendly microbes:

• Certain microbes make acid that makes a pathogen not want to live in that environment.
• Friendly microbes make vitamins to support your immune system.
• Friendly microbes have anti-tumor properties.

In some studies done on mice, they found that mice without any microbial life were more prone to autoimmune diseases, allergies, asthma, and other health issues.

Your skin flora is very necessary to protect you—it’s an immune defense. When you alter this microbiome, you basically throw the body out of balance, and you could develop inflammatory conditions.

Over-sterilization can also lead to a decrease in T cells, which are important in preventing inflammatory reactions throughout the body.

Even sterilized food (pasteurized food) goes through a process that kills off everything, including enzymes. These sterilized foods can potentially weaken the immune system.

In this video, we’re going to talk about absent-mindedness and how to improve absent-mindedness.

Absent-mindedness is basically a lack of awareness. If you’re absent-minded, you might be forgetful and easily distracted. It could be happening because your brain cells are tired and starving for energy.

Your neurons are normally dependent on glucose or lactate for fuel. But, when you consume those fuels, they have a side-effect. They can potentially cause cognitive dysfunction and absent-mindedness.

But, your body can use another type of fuel called ketones. Ketones suppress glucose utilization. If there are ketones and glucose in your blood, your brain will use ketones instead of glucose.

A simple solution to bypass a damaged nerve cell is to start increasing ketones. Ketones can feed the neurons what they need to function. They also affect the potassium channels, which can increase the communication between neurons.

You can generate ketones by lowering your carbohydrates below 50g. You also may need to increase the time you fast. You would want to do at least 18 hours of fasting with a 6-hour eating window. You may also want to add exogenous ketones. A great form of exogenous ketones is MCT oil.

How to overcome absent-mindedness:

1. Sleep
2. Stop thinking so much
3. Support your gut microbiome
4. Ketones

6:17 About trace minerals
6:52 Dosage

Today I want to introduce you to my new product called Trace Minerals Enhanced. I did have a trace mineral product in the past that was a liquid, but this is a new and improved version. The old product, being a liquid, could get messy. I also wanted to add some additional trace minerals to this product to make it even better.

The most important trace mineral that I wanted to add in a higher amount is zinc. But, if you take one trace mineral over a long period of time without the other trace minerals with it, this can cause deficiencies in the other trace minerals. So, I added a few key trace minerals in a blend of all of the other trace minerals. There are over 74 trace minerals in this product.

Trace minerals are minerals needed in very small amounts. They are cofactors in the biochemistry of the body. You have different enzymes that are proteins that are building tissues, breaking food down, and are involved in the different chemical reactions. Trace minerals are essential in those chemical reactions.

Consider taking 1-2 capsules per day on an empty stomach.

Here are a few of the trace minerals that I added to my Trace Minerals Enhanced product:

Zinc:
• Supports a healthy immune system
• Is needed for vitamin A to be utilized in the body
• Is involved in epithelial tissue integrity
• Is involved in skin, reproduction, and the immune system

Manganese:
• Is important in strengthening ligaments
• Is involved in bone formation, cartilage, different enzymes, and the immune system

Copper:
• Is involved in making collagen
• Supports a healthy immune system
• Supports ligaments

Iodine:
• Supports a healthy thyroid
• Helps in the formation of thyroid hormones
• Supports estrogen balance

Selenium:
• One of the most important antioxidants
• Is very important in converting thyroid hormones
• Is helpful in buffering excess amounts of mercury
• Supports the immune system
• Can help prevent muscle cramping

Boron:
• Supports bone health
• Is involved in building testosterone
• May help reduce pain

Chromium:
• Supports the cells that make insulin
• Is involved in stabilizing mood and reducing stress

Molybdenum:
• Is involved in detoxification
• Could potentially help lower uric acid

Today we’re going to talk about the relationship between fasting during Ramadan, and it’s immune effects.

Ramadan lasts between 29 and 30 days. During Ramadan, you’re required to not eat or drink anything from just before sunrise to just after sunset. This is a dry fast, which means you’re not drinking any water.

What you eat before and after you fast is going to make or break your success. Having junk food or refined carbohydrates before and after your fast could inhibit some of the effects you could achieve from fasting. However, low-carb, keto-friendly foods may be much more beneficial to have during your meals. Ketones are even anti-microbial.

Benefits of fasting:

• Decreased cytokines
• Increased macrophages
• Increase the microbiome
• Increased resistance to stress
• Decrease in oxidative stress
• Increased autophagy and xenophagy

Katrin’s Testimonial

Katrin, a homeopathic medical doctor, was struggling at work due to the symptoms of several auto-immune diseases such as Hashimoto’s and Lyme. Finally one day a patient suggested that she look into Dr. Joe’s work. Katrin dove in to his teachings and meditations – anything she could find on YouTube. Within a few days of practicing the Changing Beliefs and Perceptions meditation, she began feeling much better. Several months later, Katrin attended the Bonn Week Long Retreat in 2019, where she participated in a Coherence Healing session as a Healee…and got a dose of “Supernatural” medicine. Her lab results right after the event were all normal, and she still feels healthy and filled with energy.

Autoimmune Condition and Vitamin D

2:42 Regulatory T cells and vitamin D
3:20 What to do

Today we’re going to talk about the huge connection between vitamin D and autoimmune diseases.

The thymus gland is an immune gland that produces a very specific T cell called the T regulatory cell or T suppressor cell. One of the main jobs of this important T cell is to prevent autoimmune diseases.

An autoimmune disease is tissue that has antibodies against itself. It’s an inappropriate immune response.

One of the main functions of a T regulatory cell is something called central tolerance—tolerating the body tissue and not attacking it.

A big function of the thymus gland is determining the self from a foreign enemy or pathogen. If it finds an immune cell that’s going to self-attack, it will execute it.

The T regulatory cell:

• Inhibits inappropriate autoimmune responses
• Is being used as a treatment in certain autoimmune diseases

If you don’t have the T regulatory cell function, your risk for allergies, asthma, and miscarriage goes up.

T regulatory cells majorly need vitamin D. A vitamin D deficiency can also potentially cause a miscarriage or other problems with the baby, because of how vitamin D feeds this T cell.

If you have an autoimmune disease, you may want to consider taking high amounts of vitamin D, because vitamin D is an anti-inflammatory nutrient. T regulatory cells are anti-inflammatory as well. They are also immunosuppressive—they keep the immune system in balance.

How HIV Destroys the Immune System

Here is something very important you need to know about the immune system.

2:10 HIV and the T helper cell
2:26 Helper T cells—functions

In this video, I want to share something really important about the immune system. To help you understand this point, I’m going to relate it to how HIV destroys the immune system.

HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus. This virus causes something called acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. This is a broadly named condition that can create a lot of problems. Mainly, you lose your immune system.

This virus has a unique strategy of attacking the helper T cell. By doing this, it basically knocks out the rest of your army.

The T helper cell is one of the T cells, and it’s the most important immune cell. It’s required for all adaptive responses.

HIV will fuse with the T helper cell and then start taking over the DNA and reproducing. This completely wipes out your T cells. Now, you basically don’t have much of an immune system anymore.

Your T helper cells:
• Activates and grows your killer T cells
These cells are dedicated to killing viruses

• Maximizes the killing power of the macrophages
Macrophages are cells that eat viruses and bacteria

• Activate B cells
B cells make antibodies that help neutralize chemical reactions

If you wipe out the T helper cell, you won’t get any of the above actions either.

There is a nutrient that can keep T helper cells strong. This nutrient is vitamin D. If you’re deficient in vitamin D, your T helper cells will be suppressed. Vitamin D is crucial in immune function.

The 7 Benefits of a Fever

Did you know there are actually some really interesting potential benefits of a fever? Check this out.

3:54 Should you get rid of a fever?

Today we’re going to talk about the seven benefits of a fever. You might think a fever is a bad thing. But, it’s actually something normal that your immune system creates as a defense mechanism against certain infections. A fever can be a good thing that you don’t necessarily want to get rid of right away.

The 7 benefits of a fever:

1. Restricts the reproduction of pathogens
2. Decreases the time of infection
3. Mobilizes white blood cells
4. Enhanced phagocytosis
5. Decreased endotoxin effect
6. Increased growth of T cells
7. A decrease in mortality rate

In some cases, what you might want to do is actually enhance the fever. This could potentially help in stimulating some of these immune reactions.

There is no agreed-upon normal upper limit for someone’s temperature. So, what temperature should you let your body go to? Typically you may want to let the temperature rise to between 100-104 degrees Fahrenheit or 37.8-40 Celsius.

Certain immune cells that specialize in killing viruses do it by releasing things like interferon. When interferon is released, you could experience symptoms, including a fever. But, it may be best to let your body go through this process and not try to get rid of those symptoms right away, because you could weaken your immune system.

How Age Influences Your Immune System

Learn how age influences the immune system, and what you can do to support the immune system as you age.

Timestamps
0:10 Why your risk of infection increases with age
1:27 The thymus gland and immunity
2:55 Medications and the immune system
3:41 Vitamin D and healthy aging

In this video, we’re going to talk about what happens to your immune system as you age. As you age, your risk of viral and bacterial infections increases dramatically.

This can happen because your microbiome changes. Your microbiome refers to all of the microbes living in your body. These microbes make up a great majority of your immune system, but they do a lot of other things as well.

As you age, you have less diversity of your microbiome, and you have more pathogenic bacteria. So, now you have a situation where you have more pathogens and less friendly bacteria. This can make you more susceptible to getting infections. You also won’t make a good quantity of butyrate, which is involved in helping support healthy blood sugars and a healthy immune system.

It’s very important as you age to maintain your gut flora. You may even want to consider taking a high-quality probiotic supplement.

Another thing is that your thymus gland shrinks as you age. The thymus is the key lymph gland that has to do with protecting and supporting the immune system. You may want to take zinc to help support the thymus gland and possibly a thymus extract as well to help boost the immune system.

As people get older, they typically start taking more medications. The medication that really destroys the microbiome is antibiotics. But, antacids, metformin, SSRIs, laxatives, and corticosteroids can have a negative impact on your microbiome as well.

As you age, you also have a more difficult time absorbing vitamin D. Vitamin D is one of the most important immune modulators, which helps control the immune system.

What I Would Eat If I Had COVID-19

Here is what I would eat if I had COVID-19. I hope this helps.

Overview of Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:

Timestamps
0:06 Pre-existing conditions and COVID-19
0:32 High insulin
1:08 COVID-19 and nutrition
4:35 Stress and COVID-19

Today I’m going to share with you what I would eat if I had the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Pre-existing conditions significantly increase your susceptibility to getting the COVID-19 virus and experiencing complications from the virus. These pre-existing conditions could include:

• Diabetes
• Heart disease
• High blood pressure
• Insulin resistance
• Obesity

All of the conditions above have something in common—high insulin. To help with a high insulin situation, you would want to consume a low carb, moderate protein, high-fat diet (healthy keto).

Other foods I would consume if I was diagnosed with COVID-19:

1. Zinc:
• Oysters
• Shellfish
• Red meat
• Cheese

2. Vitamin D
• Cod liver oil
• Salmon
• Sun (20 minutes a day)

3. Vitamin C
• Leafy greens
• Sauerkraut
• Berries

Stress increases cortisol. Chronically elevated cortisol (chronic stress) can severely affect your immune system. It also increases your susceptibility to getting viruses and bacteria. I would also definitely try to lower stress as much as possible.

2:27 Personal recommendations for autism

In this video, we’re going to talk about autism and what I personally think might be beneficial for children with autism.

What is different about an autistic brain and a normal brain?

• There is a defect in autophagy
• Low vitamin D
• Low folate
• Dysmyelination
• Related intestinal problems (there is a connection between the digestive system and the brain)

Here are my personal opinions and recommendations for autism:

• Breastfeed for as long as possible
• Rid gluten from the diet
• Rid casein from the diet
• Detox heavy metals (silica may be a good option)
• Selenium and zinc
• Healthy keto (plus exogenous ketones and MCT oil)
• Fasting
• Vitamins D and C
