1:48 Xanthan gum vs. guar gum
Today we’re going to talk about xanthan gum and guar gum. Are they both keto-friendly, and which one is best?
What is xanthan gum?
Xanthan gum is an additive used in a lot of different foods as a thickener and to provide texture. It’s used in a lot of bread recipes because it can replace gluten.
Is xanthan gum keto-friendly?
Xanthan gum usually made from corn, glucose, or soy. It’s technically keto-friendly. It has zero net carbs, and it won’t affect your blood sugars. But, if you were to consume this, you would want to make sure the product you’re buying is non-GMO.
What is guar gum?
Guar gum comes from the guar bean.
Is guar gum keto-friendly?
Guar gum has zero net carbs, and it is keto-friendly.
Xanthan gum vs. guar gum
Xanthan gum and guar gum are very similar. The big difference is the source. Guar gum is going to be non-GMO naturally. But, Xanthan gum could be GMO, so it’s important to make sure the product you buy is non-GMO.

Can Ketones Feed Cancer?

3:58 Can ketones feed cancer?
In this video, we’re going to talk about ketones and cancer. I want to answer the question, “can ketones feed cancer?”
I actually contacted professor Thomas Seyfried to help me with this question, and this video is based on what he told me. Professor Thomas Seyfried is an expert on cancer and ketones.
Ketones and fatty acids might be used in some slow-growing tumor cells that have retained some level of respiratory capacity.
What does that mean?
There is one big difference between a cancer cell and a normal cell. That difference is how that cell is using its fuel. In a normal cell, you have this machine called the respiratory chain that basically takes fuel and turns it into something the body can use to run all of the different metabolic processes. Oxygen is the key thing in this process.
When this system is damaged, there is no oxygen. So, how do the cells turn oxygen into energy? They have a plan B. They convert over to a different mechanism where they ferment glucose and glutamine, which is a specific type of amino acid. So, cancer cells ferment glucose and glutamine. This alternative mechanism doesn’t need oxygen.
In other words, unless the cancer cell has retained some of the respiratory chain function, it could potentially use some ketones and fatty acids.
From all of his research, Professor Thomas Seyfried has found that all tumors show this pattern of the damaged respiratory chain.
Professor Thomas Seyfried also said that ketones and fatty acids could support the cell’s plan B. But, fatty acids can not support in vitro (outside of the body) tumor cell growth in the absence of glucose-glutamine.
So, if you were to raise your carbohydrate level and provide glucose or glutamine, and you were also burning ketones, or taking ketones, some tumor cells could potentially use ketones as part of the fuel. But, if you keep the glucose and glutamine very low, the cancer cells can’t support tumor growth.

She also had a problem with her pancreas, and ended up having half of her pancreas surgically removed. After going through a heart attack, stroke, and many ER visits, Michele curtailed her life to the point where she mostly stayed home, to stay “safe.” She tried many treatments and therapies, without much success, but eventually found Dr. Joe’s teachings and meditations. Michele went all in with the Work, and she soon felt well enough to become more active and enjoy life again.

In this short video, I want to talk about some good coronavirus news. There has actually been a coronavirus treatment that has been developed and is being tested in a few different countries, including South Korea and China. Now, it’s also going to be used in the USA.
They’re actually using an old drug that’s being repurposed. It’s called chloroquine.
The original purpose of chloroquine is for malaria. It kills parasites. But, this treatment may be a very good solution for COVID-19.
Things are starting to get a lot better concerning COVID-19 in places like South Korea and China. So, what are these countries doing differently? One of the things they’re doing is using this medication.
Chloroquine is a zinc ionophore. A virus invades the cells and hijacks the machinery that reproduces. It then starts to make copies of itself. Zinc has the potential to kill viruses because it shuts down the “copy machine” so that it can’t reproduce anymore.
The problem is that zinc is an ion, and it has a difficult time crossing the lipid bilayer of the cell. Chloroquine has the ability to take the ion and transport it through the cell. Chloroquine enhances zinc inside of the cell.

1:19 How stress affects your health
Today we’re going to talk about how stress can actually make you fat. I’ve had some diabetics test their blood sugars when they go through stress, and stress seems to elevate the blood sugars, but why?
Your body’s response to stress is spiking cortisol. Cortisol has the potential to significantly raise your blood sugars. You could be on the keto diet and doing everything right, but your blood sugars are still going up. This could be because of stress or trauma.
Stress side effects on weight loss:
• Cortisol can release glucose from your liver.
• It deaminates protein, which means it basically breaks down protein and turns it into glucose.
• Cortisol can lower your insulin sensitivity, which can lead to inulin resistance.
• Cortisol will drive the storage of fat to your midsection. This could be why people with a lot of stress end up with weight gain around their midsection.

Fasting Effects on the Diabetic’s Eyes
Are there beneficial fasting effects for a diabetic’s eyes? Watch this quick video to find out.
Overview to Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:

0:17 Fasting and diabetic eyes
0:32 How fasting affects the eyes
1:20 What’s causing the problem
1:35 Intermittent fasting benefits
In this video, we’re going to talk about fasting and diabetes. I want to cover the fasting effects on a diabetic’s eyes.
In a study done on mice, researchers found that fasting had a protective effect on the retina and other nerves. The retina is nerve tissue. They found that fasting improves the microbiome (your friendly bacteria). It causes the microbes to change bile salts to a compound called TUDCA, which then gives protection to your nerves.
If you’re a diabetic, you could have problems with the vascular supply to the nerves. The nerves can start to die in the fingertips, toes, eyes, and kidneys. TUDCA counters the damage to the nerves not just in the eyes but in other nerves as well.
What causes this problem originally is the high levels of sugar that a diabetic is living with. Sugar is very corrosive, and it can destroy the nervous system.
When you’re fasting, you’re cutting out sugar and normalizing your insulin levels. When you fast, your microbes improve.
With fasting your microbes:
• Start to increase the resistance to oxidative stress
• Diversify
• Live longer
• Tolerate pathogens better
Making your microbes stronger can also:
• Help you produce certain byproducts that help your blood sugars and improve insulin resistance
• Make more vitamins
• More immune protection

2:32 How to help reduce stress
Today we’re going to talk about coronavirus resistance. If we look at a virus, like COVID-19, as if it’s our enemy, it has certain strengths and weaknesses. You would never want to attack an enemy from its strengths. You would want to attack its weaknesses.
What is the strength of a virus?
The strength of the coronavirus is its ability to kill the elderly and people with pre-existing health conditions. Essentially, to attack someone with a weak immune system.
What is the weakness of a virus?
It doesn’t have hardly any influence over people with a healthy immune system.
**Your strategy should be strengthening your immune system.
Healthy eating, consuming foods that are high in nutrients, is vitally important when it comes to strengthening your immune system, and virus resistance. But, when people are stressed, they typically eat unhealthy foods. During a stress state, it’s crucial to continue eating a healthy diet.
Stress, worry, and fear spikes cortisol. Cortisol has an interesting effect on the immune system. Chronic stress can actually suppress the immune system.
Your immune system is your defense against viruses and pathogens. This is why some people have a virus come out of remission when they’re stressed. Stress can increase the susceptibility to certain pathogens.
Not only do you need to strengthen your immune system through foods and nutrition, but you also need to keep your stress as low as possible.
How to help reduce stress:
1. Stay in action—be productive
2. Stop exposing yourself to bad news
3. Take long walks
4. Continue to create a healthy body

Today we’re going to talk about the coronavirus vs. flu differences and similarities.
Flu vs. coronavirus symptoms:
Influenza symptoms:
• Aches
• Fatigue
• Chills
• Headaches
Coronavirus symptoms:
• Shortness of breath
• Difficulty breathing
The flu and the coronavirus share some symptoms, such as:
• Fever
• Dry cough
• Respiratory symptoms
Both the flu and the coronavirus can be transmitted the same way. A few ways they can be transmitted are:
• Sneezing
• Coughing
• Contact
Coronavirus vs. flu onset:
• The flu comes on very quickly, often between one and two days.
• The coronavirus symptoms come on more gradually between three to seven days.
Coronavirus vs. flu death rates:
Flu deaths:
• Typically occur from secondary bacterial pneumonia and heart attacks.
Coronavirus deaths:
• Typically occur from ARDS
Coronavirus vs. flu—Whose at risk?
• The flu virus targets the elderly, people with a weak immune system, people with a chronic health problem, children, and pregnant women.
• The coronavirus targets the elderly and people with pre-existing health problems.
Coronavirus vs. flu recent CDC estimates (October 2019-March 7th 2020):
Influenza in the USA alone:
• 51 million infections
• 24 million medical visits
• 670,000 hospitalizations
• 55,000 deaths
• Worldwide – 250,000-500,000 deaths
Coronavirus (worldwide):
• 200,000 cases
• 8,246 deaths
• 82,000 recoveries
• 107,000 mild cases
• 6,000 critical cases
At this time, I would do whatever I can to strengthen my immune system. I would create more health in my body and take the right nutrients.

Today we’re going to talk about herbal detox remedies. If you use herbal detox formulas, this video is for you.
Many times when people take powerful natural remedies or herbal remedies, you kill little microbes. When you kill these microbes, they release little particles and byproducts. This can cause you to start feeling sick with things you didn’t even have before the herbal remedy.
If you’re going to use herbal detox remedies, you need to also consider taking something at the same time that will counter the detox reaction.
What to consider taking at the same time as you take herbal detox remedies:
1. Bentonite clay
2. Activated charcoal
3. Zeolite
