Overview of Healthy Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting:

How to Lower Stress:

Biofilm:

Olive Leaf:

In this video, we’re going to talk about how you can bulletproof your immune system. First, let’s talk about what the immune system is.

The immune system is basically your body’s army for fighting off pathogens, which cause disease. In particular, the pathogens we’re talking about are microbes, like bacteria and viruses.

There are three main barriers to the immune system—skin, mucous lining, and inflammation.

Once a pathogen is in the body, your body deploys its counter-attack using white blood cells (WBC) and friendly gut microbes.

White blood cells and friendly microbes…
• Make acid to kill off pathogens
• Secrete poison
• Releases free radicles
• Created hydrogen peroxide
• Create enzymes
• Compete for food/space
• Generate music and inflammation
• Have a memory so they can easily deal microbes they’ve encountered before
• Promote phagocytes, which are cells that destroy unfriendly microbes

You have things that can weaken the immune system, and you have things that can give you an immunity boost. Take a look:

Weakens the immune system:
• Low nutrient foods
• Unhealthy diets
• Low vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, amino acids, etc.
• Stress
• Low sleep
• Glucose

Strengthens the immune system:
• Vitamin C (natural sources)
• Vitamin D
• Vitamin A
• Zinc
• Garlic
• Colloidal silver
• Olive leaf

How Stress Affects Your White Blood Cells (WBCs) and Immune System

Stress may affect your white blood cells and your immune system—making you more susceptible to getting sick. Check this out.

Timestamps
0:06 Cortisol and the immune system
1:15 Chronic stress and cortisol resistance
2:07 Stress effects on the immune system
2:32 What happens before you get sick

In this video, we’re going to talk about how stress affects the immune system.

When we’re talking about stress, we’re talking about the hormone cortisol. Cortisol has a purpose of suppressing white blood cells. Your white blood cells are basically the army of your immune system. Cortisol suppresses that function. Stress activates cortisol.

There are two types of stress:

1. Acute stress
2. Chronic stress

Chronic stress is the type of stress that’s behind so many health problems. When you chronically elevate cortisol, you could create cortisol resistance. This is very similar to insulin resistance. The amount of cortisol may even appear normal in your blood. But, the cells are not sensitive to cortisol anymore, and cortisol is no longer working. This means it’s not going to have a good effect on the immune system.

It may create a spike in the white blood cells, which could increase your risk for all sorts of issues. Or, it could cause you to lose your immune protection and make you more susceptible to getting sick.

Before you get sick, there is almost always something that happens. It’s some type of factor that lowers your immune system. It could be a combination of stress and a nutrient deficiency, or it could be stress itself. A virus can also cause a nutrient deficiency. It can even block vitamin D. This can cause the infection to stay.

Subclinical Hypothyroidism and Zinc Deficiency

There is a really important missing factor in subclinical hypothyroidism— a zinc deficiency. Check this out.

1:25 Can having a slow thyroid cause a zinc deficiency?
1:38 What to do

Today we’re going to talk about subclinical hypothyroidism and a zinc deficiency.

Subclinical hypothyroidism is a situation where you have a slow thyroid, but the blood values are still normal. If you’re looking at blood tests alone, you can completely miss this condition.

There are several important trace minerals involved in thyroid function, such as:

• Iodine
• Selenium
• Copper
• Zinc

Zinc is not emphasized enough. Zinc is not only involved in the conversion from T4 to T3 but, it’s also involved in the synthesis of T4 and T3, as well as the thyroid-stimulating hormone. Without enough zinc, you can’t convert these hormones, and you can’t make thyroid hormones.

Once you have a hypothyroid condition, you’re going to have a hard time absorbing zinc. Having a slow thyroid may actually cause a zinc deficiency.

If you have any thyroid symptoms, don’t forget about zinc. One great way to get more zinc is to consume more shellfish, sea kelp, or take a supplement.

Today we’re going to talk about Alzheimer’s disease. I think everyone needs to know this basic information about Alzheimer’s. It may even help you if you have Alzheimer’s disease, or if you want to help prevent it.

With Alzheimer’s disease, the neurons that connect to other neurons, called the synapses, are damaged. They’re damaged to the point where they can’t use glucose fuel efficiently. They’re basically starving to death.

With a normal aging brain, you’ll have a loss of glucose uptake of roughly 10%, but only in the frontal lobe. With this 10% loss, you may not experience any Alzheimer’s symptoms at all.

With the Alzheimer’s brain, there is not only a loss of glucose uptake in the frontal lobe, but it also happens in other parts of the brain as well. More of the brain is involved, and the brain can’t absorb glucose very well anymore.

The good news is that ketones can be used as fuel to bypass the damage and feed the neurons in the brain. Ketones are actually the preferred fuel and the type of fuel that our brains desperately need.

How to feed the brain more ketones:

1. A low-carb diet (healthy keto)
2. Do intermittent fasting
3. Get exogenous ketones (ketone salts)
4. Do MCT oil

How Intermittent Fasting Affects Your Eyes and Vision

Could intermittent fasting support eye health? Watch this short video to find out.

1:52 How to improve your eyes with fasting
2:46 How intermittent fasting affected me
3:57 Why fasting can cause temporary vision problems

In this video, I want to talk about how intermittent fasting has the potential to improve your vision greatly.

Let’s start by looking at one of the biggest causes of poor vision—diabetes. When you’re a diabetic, there are four main issues that are affected: kidneys, heart, nervous system, and the eyes.

There’s actually a condition caused by diabetes called diabetic retinopathy. This is damage to the retina. There’s also a chance of developing glaucoma when you’re a diabetic.

When you have a blood sugar issue, it destroys the tiny vascular system that goes to the optic nerve. This can cause blindness.

We also have another problem called macular degeneration. This is another situation where you have poor circulation in the back of the eye.

And finally, we have the common issue of cataracts. Cataracts are very common in diabetics.

What these all break down to is insulin resistance.

So if insulin resistance is a cause of poor eyesight, then doing the opposite could help reverse the damage and help improve eyesight.

Intermittent fasting is fantastic for insulin resistance. It helps normalize your blood sugar, and it helps your body run on ketones, which also helps with blood sugar levels.

In addition, fasting helps stimulate autophagy. Autophagy is when your body starts to clean up old damaged proteins. This could be floaters in your eye or scar tissue in the eye.

One last note, if you start keto and intermittent fasting and your experience worse vision, all this means is that you are not yet adapted to keto. Give it some time.

In this video, we’re going to talk about vitamin C, and something called a subclinical vitamin C deficiency.

You may have heard of scurvy, which is a severe vitamin C deficiency. This is also called a classical vitamin C deficiency. A subclinical vitamin C deficiency means you have some vitamin C, but you don’t have the full amount.

What does vitamin C do?

• It works as an antioxidant
• It’s involved in collagen growth and repair
• It helps make noradrenaline
• It’s necessary in the function of carnitine
• Your white blood cells are saturated with vitamin C

Scurvy symptoms:

• Wounds that can’t heal
• Gingivitis
• Perifollicular hemorrhage
• Fatigue
• Red/purple blotches

Foods that are rich in vitamin C:

• Papaya (I don’t recommend)
• Kiwi (I don’t recommend)
• Bell peppers
• Greens
• Berries
• Cruciferous vegetables

Many people also take vitamin C supplements. Just be sure your supplement is not synthetic. Make sure it’s food-based. Acerola cherry is also a great source of vitamin C.

Things that can inhibit vitamin C absorption and potentially cause vitamin C deficiency signs:

• Smoking
• Pregnancy
• Age
• Overtraining
• Sugar

Today we’re going to talk about the number 1 source of stress that you may not think of.

The #1 source of hidden stress is the news. TV, radio, the web, and magazines—all of these news outlets could be causing you stress.

Sensationalism: The use of shocking stories at the expense of accuracy to provoke interest.

Get the newspaper, and try to find some good news. Yes, we need to be informed. But do we really need to be informed of the negativity 24/7 everywhere we go?

All of this negativity all of the time may not be good for your health. Consider trying this simple experiment on yourself. Limit the amount of bad news you expose yourself to. As you do this, refocus on some good news instead. I believe your health may actually improve.

Today we’re mixing things up just a little bit. I’m putting my videographer, Jared, on the spot to participate in a little experiment. Jared has made a few positive changes in his diet, which is great. But, I’ve noticed a few things that could still be improved slightly, so we’re gonna try an interesting little diet experiment.

I’m going to tweak his diet just a little bit for one week. Jared is going to consume 7 cups of vegetables a day at any time of day. It can even be split up into two meals. He’s going to do this for one week. Normally, I would suggest 7-10 cups of vegetables a day, but since Jared doesn’t usually consume very many vegetables, I want to have him just try 7 cups of veggies per day.

We’re going to focus on greens mainly for two minerals: magnesium and potassium. Both of these minerals are involved in energy, relaxation, and stress.

The first salad for Jared with 7 cups of vegetables was challenging. But, the next day, he felt good and refreshed without any aches or pains. Overall, at the end of the week, Jared saw improvements.

If you aren’t consuming 7-10 cups of vegetables a day, I challenge you to try it for one week and see how you feel.

How Jared felt before the experiment (on a scale of 0-10):

• Energy — 7
• Sleep — 8
• Stress — 5

How Jared felt after the experiment (on a scale of 0-10):
