At six years old, Mara was raped by a family member, and then was targeted and abused by a pedophile when she was twelve. Thus began decades of drug addiction and depression. At some point, Mara was able to stop taking drugs, and then 6 years ago she started studying Dr. Joe’s work and practicing the meditations. Her main message is that her journey of recovery has been long….but so worth pursuing.
