Today, we’re going to talk about the toxic effects of nutrients if you take too much.

Try to get most of your vitamins and nutrients from food, or take supplements that are food-based. Having the right amount of vitamins and nutrients are, of course, a great thing. However, having too much can cause toxic side effects.

High amounts of synthetic vitamins can especially cause vitamin toxicity, which is damaging to the body. Having high amounts of trace minerals can also trigger toxicity symptoms.

Toxic effects that could occur from taking too much of these nutrients:

• Vitamin A – vision, bone pain, cancer, skin irritation
• Vitamin E – bleed easily, fatigue, weakness
• Vitamin D – hypercalcemia
• Vitamin C – diarrhea
• Iron – accumulates the liver and brain, constipation, hemochromatosis
• Iodine – low selenium enzymes, hyperthyroid
• Magnesium – diarrhea, low blood pressure, irregular heartbeat
• Selenium – alopecia, dermatitis
• Zinc – low copper absorption, fever, gastritis

Today, we’re going to talk about SIBO, and how SIBO can steal your nutrients. This is a much more common condition than you might think. One of the big problems with this condition is nutritional deficiencies.

What is SIBO? Normally your friendly bacteria should be in the large intestines, but when it gets into the small intestines, it becomes small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).

When you eat, these microbes start fermenting carbohydrates and eating nutrients such as:

• B12
• Iron
• Bile

Symptoms of SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) are:

• Bloating
• Abdominal pain
• Gas
• Nutritional deficiencies

What causes SIBO?

• Complication after surgery
• Not enough stomach acid

Natural remedies for SIBO?

• Take betaine hydrochloride
• Take apple cider vinegar
• Do intermittent fasting
• Avoid prebiotics (fiber) and probiotics or a combination of the two
• Take an herbal antibiotic (oregano, thyme, clove, garlic)

Camila’s Testimonial

In this online-submitted testimonial, Camila shares the story of healing her vision, damaged when she had a thrombus. Even though doctors said it wouldn’t heal, she had some success working with a Reiki practitioner. Then, she attended the Cancun Advanced Week Long Retreat in June, and was chosen to be a healee in one of the Coherence Healing sessions. She had some profound moments of heart-opening and clarity…and then a vision test provided “20/20” proof of her healing.

I recently had a question from someone who is a cyclist. They have low back pain and very tight hip flexors, what could they do about it?

One of the challenges that come with biking is doing a repetitive motion over and over. You’re working certain muscles more than others. Anytime you have a muscle on the body that is stronger than the opposing muscle, it can create an imbalance.

In this situation, you have a problem with an overdeveloped:

• Rectus Femoris
• Iliopsoas

What causes this low back pain? If these muscles are overdeveloped, it will keep you in a flexed state. You will lose the symmetry between the muscles on the front of the body, and the muscles on the back.

Action steps:
• Stretch
• Do yoga
• Strengthen the opposing muscle (glutes, hamstrings)

Sandi’s Testimonial

“She was experiencing it and observing it, at the same time.” — Dr. Joe

In 1997, Sandi was involved in a car accident that injured her spine. She was diagnosed with spinal stenosis, and eventually had surgery to try and repair the damage. Afterwards, she could barely walk and things haven’t improved much since then. During a meditation at the Portland Retreat, Sandi decided to go for it and really surrender, and “that’s when the movie started.” She had a kind of out-of-body-experience, and was told her body was in a place where there was a “perfect blueprint” of her body. After the meditation, her physical condition was very improved.
