Today, I want to share with you my opinion on bone broth.

Is bone broth healthy? In short, yes.

People eat a lot of muscle from the animal, which contains high amounts of methionine. But, when you consume healthy bone broth, you’re getting glycine in a different profile of amino acids. I also recommend consuming some organ meats like liver.

The benefits of bone broth mainly come from glycine, which can help with:

• Sleep
• Blood sugars
• Neurotransmitters

Other benefits of bone broth relate to gut health and joint support.

A convenient option is to buy a pre-made bone broth. One of my favorites is from a company called Kettle & Fire. Or, you can follow this easy bone broth recipe below.

Ingredients:
• 3 pounds of bones (I like to get this from the farmer’s market)
• Water (2-gallon pot)
• 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
• Add herbs/spices/vegetables/sea salt

Fill the 2-gallon pot with water about 2 inches from the top. Add the bones and the apple cider vinegar. Let sit for 30 minutes. Add your chosen herbs/spices/vegetables/sea salt.

Bring the contents of the pot to a boil and then turn the heat down to a simmer. Let it simmer for 10-24 hours. The longer you let it simmer, the more nutrients are extracted.

Let the keto bone broth cool and then strain out the contents into glass jars. I like to use the homemade bone broth in different soups or stews.

In this video, I want to cover the importance of the intestinal mucosal barrier.

What is the intestinal mucosal barrier? — It’s simply a barrier between the inside of your colon (the large bowel) and the colon cells.

The large bowel is all about fermenting fiber. Most of your friendly bacteria should exist in the large bowel.

mucosal barrier functions:

1. First line of defense
2. Antibacterial
3. Place to ferment fiber
4. Selective absorption
5. Lubrication

Microbes eat fiber and turn into small-chain fatty acids (butyrate).

Benefits of butyrate:

• Feeds colonocytes
• It’s an anti-inflammatory
• Improves insulin resistance
• It’s anti-cancer
• It has satiety properties
• It helps maintain the thickness of the mucosal layer

Action steps to help heal the intestinal mucosal barrier:

• Consume vegetables
• Take glutamine
• Colostrum
• Intermittent fasting
• BPC-157

Are You Protein Deficient?

In this video, we’re going to cover what you need to know about a protein deficiency. I want to fill you in on what causes protein deficiency, the different signs of protein deficiency, and what you can do if you have a protein deficiency.

Protein deficiency symptoms:

• Sick often
• Delayed healing
• Lack of muscle growth
• Poor recovery
• Weak connective tissue
• Bone loss
• Low neurotransmitters
• Low hormones
• Low enzymes
• Can’t detox
• Poor sleep

Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. The purpose of consuming protein is to get amino acids.

The purpose of amino acids are:

1. Muscle repair
2. Neurotransmitter precursors
3. Raw material for biological proteins (enzymes, hormones, detox, DNA)

When you consume protein-rich foods, you may think that protein is going right in the body and providing raw material as amino acids. However, different types of proteins (eggs, meat, soy) are each absorbed differently.

For example:

Egg
• 48% will turn into body tissue
• 52% is wasted

Meat/Fish/Fowl
• 32% will turn into body tissue
• 68% is wasted

A protein deficiency is not always due to not eating enough protein.

Protein deficiency causes:

• Low stomach acid
• Inflammation
• Age
• You’re an athlete
• Gastric bypass
• Heart problems
• Liver/Kidney damage
• Insulin resistance
• Gut damage

A great natural remedy for a protein deficiency is an interesting product that is a combination of 8 amino acids.

A little bit about this product:

• 99% of it turns into tissue
• There are barely any calories
• It’s completely anabolic
• It stimulates muscle repair
• Take it on an empty stomach or after exercise

What is Hormesis?

In this video, I want to answer a few questions about hormesis. What does hormesis mean, and how does hormesis work?

What is hormesis? — Hormesis is a condition where you’re adding some stress or some toxicity in a small amount, and it’s very beneficial, compared to a larger amount where it becomes toxic.

Hormesis examples:

• Exercise can be very beneficial and can make you fit over time. However, if you’re 50 or 60 years old and you haven’t been working out, and you do Crossfit for two hours, you’re going to have a toxic effect from that.

• Fasting is very beneficial in a certain amount. But, if you fast for too long, you could end up having a toxic effect.

• Phytonutrients are very beneficial in a small amount. However, if you consume a concentrated amount of foods with phytonutrients, it can have a toxic effect.

• The way your body reacts to a small amount of heat or cold can be beneficial. For example, if you were to get in a sauna or take a cold shower. But, too much heat or too much cold can be a problem.

• Very small amounts of alcohol may be beneficial. But, too much alcohol can be toxic.

• A small amount of UV light is great, too much is bad.

Other examples of hormesis would be having too much:

• Estrogen
• Cortisol
• Growth hormone
• Thyroid hormone
• Insulin
• Nutrients

In this video, I want to talk about keto critics and the importance of nutrition.

I recently met someone who was on the ketogenic diet and was feeling discouraged. Someone told her she should forget about keto and intermittent fasting and just enjoy herself.

But, that doesn’t make a lot of sense. Why?

• This way of thinking assumes eating healthy is not enjoyable (people on keto are satisfied eating wonderful healthy food)
• Pleasure foods end up being painful
• Pleasure foods increase dopamine
• The way people usually die nowadays is usually slow

Don’t listen to the keto naysayers. Your longevity has everything to do with what you eat, and eating healthy can be enjoyable.

Victoria’s Testimonial

15 years ago, Victoria was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, which causes severe issues with digestion and elimination. Then a doctor prescribed a colostomy bag…which happened to coincide with the release of What the Bleep Do We Know, and Victoria suddenly felt hope that she could heal. She changed her life completely, and healed by eliminating everything in her life that might possibly trigger a return of symptoms. But eventually she wanted to go on with her life – she married, and they had a baby. When her daughter was 10 mos. old, Victoria went into the hospital with life-threatening issues. She survived, and then started over…again. This time, she dived into Dr. Joe’s books and meditations.

Today, I want to talk about pine oil and the different benefits of pine oil.

What is pine oil? — Pine oil is an essential oil. Pine oil is a natural oil that comes from a pine tree and is concentrated. A lot of the pine oil benefits we’re going to cover come from its interesting antimicrobial properties.

Some people use pine oil disinfectant around the house, but the kind of pine essential oil that I’m talking about is the kind that you can:

• Consume
• Use topically
• Inhale

Pine oil uses:

• For dandruff
• For itchy skin
• For achy joints
• For respiratory infections

One of the best health benefits of pine oil is that it helps disinfect and fight:

• Bacteria
• Viruses
• Fungus
• Candida
• Lyme
• E. coli
• Salmonella

How to use pine oil (always start out with a small amount and use more if needed):

• Use it topically – Use 2 drops of pine oil mixed with 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. Rub it in.

• Orally – Drink 2 drops of pine oil mixed in an 8oz. glass of water.

• Inhalation – Put 2 drops in a diffuser and breath it in slowly.

In this video, let’s talk about nutrients and your lifespan. How much of an influence do nutrients have on how long you live?

You are as strong as your weakest link. There are various weaknesses within our bodies that fail and then shorten our lifespan.

Your body is constantly trying to repair DNA damage. When your body fails to repair the DNA damage, or the free radical damage is too strong, you start to age, and your body begins to breakdown.

One study reports that DNA damage from micronutrient deficiencies may cause cancer.

Why are nutrients important? Because nutrients are involved in the repair action, which helps keep the DNA stable. If you’re deficient in a nutrient at a certain level, you’re going to be susceptible to a breakdown within the system.

The triage theory:
If you have somewhat of a deficiency, your body is going to ration out nutrients, and your genes and enzymes that are involved in longevity and repair will suffer.

Unfortunately, there are no real symptoms of having a shorter lifespan. That’s why I really want you to understand that you need to make sure you have all of the nutrients in your diet to extend your life.
