Jane’s Testimonial

Last year, Jane created paintings to raise money for a scholarship program. This year she is doing it again, but with the help of her Mind Movie, she is creating that the paintings sell faster and raise more money. How Long Do I Have to Do Keto and Intermittent Fasting?

Today, I want to answer a question someone recently asked, “how long do I have to do keto and intermittent fasting?”

The ketogenic diet is a lifelong commitment. Healthy keto with intermittent fasting will work while you do it, but the benefits will stop if you stop. You might see some awesome keto diet results, or intermittent fasting results and think it’s ok to stop. But, the long term effects of keto are so beneficial, you really don’t want to stop.

The purpose of doing the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting is for so much more than just weight loss. Doing keto long term is a way of eating to minimize health problems.

You will eventually build up your health reserve, and you will be able to go off of the program here and there. But, there are no phases of the ketogenic diet. After you reach your keto weight loss goal, instead of adding in carbs, you can add in more calories and more fat.

There are multiple incredible benefits of healthy keto, ketosis, and intermittent fasting. Ketones are a more efficient fuel that your brain and heart prefer. But, one of the biggest problems out there right now is high insulin. Healthy keto with intermittent fasting will help you reduce your insulin, which will benefit your:

• Heart
• Liver
• Brain
• Hormones
• Immune System
• Nerves
• Kidneys
• Eyes

Keto and Intermittent Fasting Made Me Depressed

Today, I want to do a quick video to answer a question someone had about the ketogenic diet and depression. This person had started the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting and was feeling depressed. Why would this happen?

What causes depression on keto? – It may be because of a nutritional deficiency.

Healthy keto and intermittent fasting are supposed to make your mood go up. If you’re having depression while on keto, or depression while doing intermittent fasting, you may have nutritional deficiencies. If you have any type of subclinical nutrition deficiency, it will be magnified when you do intermittent fasting, and sometimes when you do keto as well.

Nutrition deficiencies that can cause depression while on keto:

1. Low zinc
2. Low vitamin D
3. Low B12

90 Percent of Hypothyroidism is Hashimoto’s

The great majority (90-95%) of hypothyroid cases are Hashimoto’s. Let’s talk about what Hashimoto’s is and why this is the case.

Hashimoto’s is an autoimmune condition. This means that there are cells that are attacking the thyroid, which keeps the thyroid inflamed. Hashimoto’s is actually more of an immune problem than a thyroid problem.

A few Hashimoto’s symptoms are:

• Stress
• Anxiety
• Depression

You can pretty much have any thyroid symptom, but when you have Hashimoto’s, you can also have symptoms of hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid).

What causes this?

• A high percentage of people with Hashimoto’s developed it 3-8 months postpartum.
• There are 5-8 times more women that have this condition than men.

This tells us there is a problem with estrogen. Estrogen is a very powerful antioxidant. Many times, women have lower amounts of estrogen postpartum. This can set them up for getting this autoimmune condition.

A few more things that could contribute to this problem are:

• Gluten
• A zinc deficiency
• Low vitamin D

Action Steps:

• Take around 300mg of selenium per day
• Take iodine only if you’re deficient
• Start healthy keto and intermittent fasting

In this video, I want to go over the interesting benefits of fish for your brain and your eyes.

Fish are so beneficial for your brain and your eyes because of DHA. But, not all fish have high levels of DHA.

What is DHA? – DHA is an omega 3 fatty acid. It’s used as a primary structural component of the brain and the retina. If you’re low in DHA, it can affect many things, including your cognitive function and your mood.

Foods rich in DHA (Per 100g):

• Caviar – 3400mg
• Atlantic Mackerel -1400mg
• Anchovies – 1292mg
• Atlantic Salmon -1115mg
• Herring – 1105mg
• Chinook Salmon – 944mg
• Blue Fin Tuna – 890mg
• Beef Brain – 855mg
• Microalgae (for vegans)

There are cofactors that allow DHA to work in the brain and in the eyes which are zinc and iodine. You can get both of these cofactors when you consume seafood.

DHA is also needed to make Rhodopsin. Rhodopsin is a light-sensitive protein in the eye that’s mainly involved with low-level light. If you have a hard time seeing at night, you may need DHA or vitamin A.

How Many Calories on Keto? The Simple Formula

Take Dr. Berg’s Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY or go here: http://bit.ly/2RmaFDS

Today we’re going to talk about keto and calories. Do you count calories on keto? How many calories on keto should you do?

People are carrying around a lot more calories of fat than they may realize. Many people think they will lose weight just by cutting their calories. But, in reality, this doesn’t work.

Counting calories doesn’t really work because of these variables:

• Age
• Slow Thyroid
• Insulin Resistance
• Exercise
• Stress
• Sleep
• Dietary Fat vs. Body Fat Burning
• Body Problem (autoimmune problem, inflammatory condition, etc.)
• How Calories Influence Hormones
• How Many Times You’ve Dieted In The Past
• Speed of metabolism

Instead of trying calorie counting, discover how many calories you need and how many times you should eat.

When you consume a meal, you should be satisfied and full without being uncomfortable. You don’t need to count calories on keto. You just need to aim for being satisfied.

Action Steps:

• Start with healthy keto (shift to fat-burning)

Then, start working your way down this list if you need to as your body adapts.

1. Remove snacks
2. Go down to two meals

If that doesn’t work, go to the next level:
3. Go down to one meal (OMAD)

If that doesn’t work, go to the next level:
4. Go down to one meal every other day

Enhance weight loss by:

• Adding exercise
• Adding nutrients
• Getting plenty of good sleep
• Lowering your stress

The REAL Reason Why Autophagy Exists

Take Dr. Berg’s Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY or go here: http://bit.ly/2RmaFDS

Download Keto Essentials
http://bit.ly/2DH0d6o

In this video, I want to cover autophagy and the real reason why autophagy exists.

What is autophagy? – Autophagy is a condition where your body takes damaged proteins and recycles them. The recycling process provides amino acids for fuel, and to be used as raw material to build tissue. Autophagy was created to cope with starvation. During starvation or fasting, autophagy acts as a survival mechanism.

Damaged proteins are very toxic to the body. It’s very beneficial to get these damaged proteins out of the body. Autophagy also eliminated microbes and viruses.

Types of damaged proteins:

• Misfolded proteins
• Oxidized proteins
• Mutated proteins
• Glycated proteins

Autophagy is not a mechanism that switches on and off. Autophagy is always going on unless you have an issue like high blood sugar or an inflammatory condition.

You probably have an effective autophagy system if you’re doing:

1. Keto
2. Exercise (as you exercise your efficiency with autophagy also improves)
3. Fasting (18 hours or longer is great for autophagy)

Autophagy benefits:

• Anti-aging and enhancing benefits
• It gets rid of things that are very unhealthy for your body
